Hong Kong review #9…read more I was looking for a place for breakfast and the hotel concierge suggested this place. He said he wasn't aware it until a hotel guest told him about it. It was only a couple blocks from my hotel, but I walked right past it at first. I was looking the name above the store front, however it isn't there. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=0VwZp1yF7jayLPutNbQ5KQ It's on a "billboard" hanging out over the street. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=Se2oZmp-6if1Pe2P772RKA Inside. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=3AK283sNBcvYbGvEbohR5g They also have 3 fun tables like this one we sat at http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=ns2Jt13Q9OVonB2AZOkMFA SERVICE: Pretty typical "Chinese style" service. Where as they come take your order quickly, the food comes out of the kitchen pretty quickly, but generally not very attentive otherwise. However you just need to get their attention and they come over quickly. They won't bring the bill until you ask for it, but this is pretty typical in Asia. Also, there is no service charge. FOOD: The breakfast menu is not huge, just 10 items, but they offer a number of ways to customize your order. Prices are very reasonable, ranging from HK$20 to HK$58 ($2.60 - $7.50 US). http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=4AWWCIOlqskhrpw2xzEFig We both ordered the omelette with tomato, onion & bacon (HK$32 - $4.25 US), I with hash browns http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=mVHPhr6eODP6Ch5BL4DgDw and my friend with beef satay http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/樂嚐軒-香港?select=QbQRFliMfu-MRPN9r8dUAQ The omelette was pretty tasty, but the filling was a bit different. Picture thin sliced ham diced and in a kind of somewhat sweet tomato-y, but not tomato-y sauce. When you order a drink with your meal it's just HK$3. However if you want a refill, expect to pay HK$20 ($2.60 US) more. OVERALL: Great Western and Asian breakfast options at very reasonable prices, in a comfortable, inviting setting. Definitely recommended for travelers staying in the Sai Ying Pun / Sheung Wan area!

They have many unique flavors like earl grey tea, matcha, and peanut butter! They also have the original buttermilk and chocolate. You also have a choice of your fruit toppings and sauce. My friend and I had the earl grey pancakes topped with fruit and classic maple syrup. The pancakes are thick like Japanese style hotcakes and they are pretty fluffy as well. The earl grey didn't really taste a lot different from regular pancakes to me although it did have a faint tea flavor and was less sweet than regular buttermilk pancakes. We also had the toast and egg combo was which pretty average but not bad. The smoothies and coffee here are also pretty good, but again nothing special. Personally, I would probably only come here for the pancakes. Prices range about 100hkd a person and a little more if you order drinks.

You order and pay at the counter and you receive a transponder when your food is ready for pick up. The menu is in the form of a photo album and some are hand written with pictures. Two of us ordered the potato salad and early grey pancakes with Nutella, bananas and strawberries to share along with a soda and a refresher smooth (green apple, cucumber, mint). The Earl grey pancakes came out more like thick pan cakes stacked on top of each other with Nutella in between them. These aren't really the fluffy pancakes which I was expecting as its dense and more like a cake. The two of us couldn't finish the huge stack but one girl next to us finished the whole stack by herself! The soda and smoothie tasted very blend and was sure no sugar was added. The service was good and the menu is thoughtfully put together but I would hope to taste some fluffier pancakes in the future.
