Well, generally speaking that's exactly what I've done until I wanted to change a ticket. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent trying to change/cancel a booking via skyscanner or expedia. Enter S Travel. S Travel is actually the first physical travel agency that I've walked into. I was pleasantly surprised by service and ease in which to discuss different travel options. Of course the prices were higher than I would have liked but then again I'm paying for an additional service on top of the flight. The lady at S Travel was helping me with an excursion into China. There were a load of different forms I had to fill in that she couldn't fully explain me to so I did my best. I handed her my passport and other needed documents in order to secure the entry Visa. Five days later and there it was... a Visa into China and for only $500. From all the stories I've heard about waiting in like at the embassy I felt like I definitely got a good deal out of it. But then came trying to book my flight to Shanghai. I told her about the ticket I saw for X amount, one that with all her expertise as an agent could not find. The closest ticket price was about $1,000 over the one I found. At this point I had to ask myself, is $1,000 worth the extra hassle I may have to deal with in the future? In this case the answer was no. With that settled I left the agency and booked my own flight. My experience with S Travel was not bad by any means. It has shown me that agencies do have a use, probably more than one, but until I find out how useful they actually are and I have the time on my hands to find a cheap ticket I'll stick with my computer for now.

Over the last few years, I would go through the Nanda Travel Agency to help book my tickets from London to Hong Kong and vice versa. Being a poorly organized student at the time, I'd usually come to Nanda Travel with a very short deadline, but they were completely professional and sorted out my Cathay Pacific flights for Easter, Summer, and Christmas at surprisingly cheap prices. Both Joanna and Foby at Nanda Travel have taken care of my last few flights without a hitch - sending me my invoices and e-tickets in plenty of time. The best time to call up Nanda Travel would be to arrange flights to India. The reason for this might be that Nanda Travel is the only wholesale agent for Cathay Pacific and Dragonair to India - i.e. they have the best fares, and close to no competition, as they and only a few others block inventory for CX and Air India flights. On top of this, they've got holiday packages and promotions to Phuket, Siem Reap, and other South East Asian cities on their 'Hot Tours' section. Definitely worth checking out for that next trip.

From the bus terminal located basically adjacent to the Hong Kong airport, we took a comfortable double decker bus and the fare was a modest 65 HKD or $8.38 USD. The total trip from bus terminal to bus terminal was 75 minutes as I recall. The bridge is 34 miles long, opened in 2018, took 9 years to build, and cost $18.8B USD. The bus ride was smooth, comfortable, and scenic.

Everyone working at the terminals is friendly and helpful. The food courts and restaurants is a foodie paradise. It feels like you are dining at some of the best places with service to match. I hate layovers but this is one stop where I actually look forward to. I don't understand why the U.S. airports have not excelled in this area yet. Here are a few food places I recommend inside the airport: - located at Terminal 5, Level 1, we dined at Ryu Shabu Shabu upon landing. Luggages must be left outside the restaurant. Only in Asia can you feel comfortable doing this. We were famished since we didn't eat any of the airplane food. The meal set here was so satisfying. They slice large pieces of Wagyu in front of you. Dipping in that special raw egg with the bright red yolk was heaven. The broth is similar to a Sukiyaki. - Next door to Ryu, I got a hot Longan & Red Dates Nut Mylk. My son who is not into hot drinks took a sip and his eyes show how shockingly good it was. He couldn't stop raving about it. - Duddell's for its Michelin Starred dim sum. Their restaurant is located in Central but they have a spot here at departures hall. - I also highly recommend Yung Kee Restaurant at Terminal 1 (Gates 40-80) for some Roast Goose and Soy Chicken. Service was stellar. Tons of shops for those last minute duty-free gifts. I got a couple of cool magnets for my travel fridge collection. I swear, HK Airport has the nicest smelling restrooms. The sinks were so cool looking I almost took a pic. Lol. Don't forget to checkin to get your Yelp Hong Kong travel badge.

It's still an airport and undoubtedly there will be delays and irritating things that come with travel. But, it's a super nice airport.

Jamie W and I were finishing up dim sum in Tsim Hsa Tsui and decided to hop on the ferry around 8PM. It was close to empty. The benches have seatbacks that can be reversed depending on the direction the ferry takes. The nighttime views of Victoria Harbor and the surrounding skyscrapers really elevate the ride.
