Yet another vegetarian snack shop. I probably walk pass this shop more often than any other snack shops in town as it is pretty close to the dance studio I normally go to. Instead of being a full blown restaurant, this joint focuses on the snack items/ dim sum as well as puddings.
Amongst the many items in this join, the things that I always buy will be the bean curd sheet wrap as well as the vermicelli rolls, which strictly speaking is also a form of bean curd sheet wrap. I don't think I need to write too much about the former as it is really quite standard; I have to say the rendition of this joint is slightly flatter and less compact in the filling, but since you can have 2 for $8 so it's all good to me.
The vermicelli roll on the other hand is one of my favorites. Instead of chopped vegetable bits, sauteed vermicelli is placed inside the wrap. I have to say it is not the chewy and bouncy type of vermicelli you would see in pasta dishes; the ones the go into the wrap is very soft, even soggy; but it is just reassuring when you bite into it, the familiar mellowness is just like you are sinking in a soft bed, safe and comforting.
Aside of those snacks you find in the display cabinet, they serve up freshly brewed herbal teas as well; bottled and stuck in a bucket of ice, it is the best remedy for a hot summer not only cools you on the outside, but also provides deep internal cooling for the heat that was built up in your body; so says the wisdom in traditional Chinese medicine~ read more
