Also, the hotel has a shuttle every 15 minutes from the airport that will take you to or from the airport. I believe the shuttle ends at 9 PM (or later) so be sure to time your flight accordingly. Staff can speak English and can also give recommendations of where to go. The room itself was spacious and had a great view of the city. The shower even has a retractable clothesline in case you want to hang dry your clothes. The best part of the hotel has to be the fact that it is a part of the outlet. There's a 7 11 and McDonalds about five minutes from the hotel lobby. The MTR station is also close by and easy to access. During the day you can shop or check out the restaurants. Although you do not get the actual city action of HK it is still a neat place to stay for a couple days if you're just passing through or not planning to do anything too wild. But if you want to go into the city, just take the MTR and you'll be set!

They have a free airport shuttle and the staff was eager to assist with loading the luggage onto and off the shuttle. The rooms are small but clean. Considering how close the hotel is to the motorway, the rooms are quite quiet. They provide toiletries and boxed water, though no coffee/tea maker. Air filter machine in the room as well. Overall, a nice, reasonably priced hotel near the airport and Ngong Ping 360 (I could even see Ngong Ping 360 from my room).

It was very spacious with a sitting area and huge bathroom with large shower which looked out to the water. The view was incredible and I loved being able to watch the sunrise over the water. On my second visit, I chose a Mountain View room. It was much smaller and the bathroom had a shower that looked onto the room, which was kind of strange (especially since the privacy shade was on the room side). Rooms are very clean. They provide robe, slippers, toiletries, water filtration unit, kettle and canned water. I did not add on breakfast and did not try the hotel restaurant. Perhaps next time! The hotel is located in DB North. There are some restaurants and a few markets, including the Marketplace which has a great selection of groceries. Uncle Russ is right next door for your coffee fix. You can take the shuttles from DB Plaza (where the ferry lands) up to DB North. They also have shuttles that take you to HK Disneyland (though I didn't take advantage of them). If you can, definitely choose the ocean view room. It's spectacular!

Definitely recommend getting either the buffet package with booking, OR just going down to the buffet. There's shops near by, but the buffet in the lobby was convenient. My only caution, is to stay on top of bus and hotel shuttle times, because it is very limited. Staff was so pleasant during our stay. Loved every minute here!

During the day it's not so bad, still a little creepy, but at night it can be a little bit scary. Not scary for me... *cough* I mean could be scary for others... In the hotel's front patio there are a number of alabaster-white statues with missing limbs dotted around the place. I'm pretty sure they were meant to add some sort of artistic value but I think they are freaky. Don't judge a book by its cover, so I've been told! Inside the Inn it gets better - less scary, more normal. I noticed a restaurant on the ground floor though I never ate there, instead I chose to check in and go straight to my room. It was a garden view, the cheapest of the lot, and didn't offer much other than a bed and bathroom. The air-con and fridge were working, just at monstrous levels. Not a problem for an HK kid like me, where by if I don't have a certain level of noise it becomes too quiet to sleep! So what, I thought, I got this room on Groupon or something, what could I expect? I slept pretty well that night and it was the next morning when I fully realised the value of this place. Location, location, location. It is literally thirty seconds from the beach. Waking up and being able to hear the waves of the sea, have a stroll on the beach, or simply look out at all the islands puts the price of the place in perspective. We stayed a total of two nights, spending most of our time away from the actual hotel and on the beach, or nearby beaches of Lantau, but no nasty stuff to report. A great place for a weekend getaway out of the city, I can tell you, but don't expect any frills.

It's like a giant white elephant on…read moreSilvermine Beach, and just seems to be full of mainland Chinese tourists there for the seafood buffet promotion. With Hong Kong Island less than an hour away by ferry, and rates at the Silvermine equivalent to those on Hong Kong Island, I can't imagine why anybody would be staying there. Having said that though, at the weekends, it does seem to do a roaring catering trade. For me, it's a pretty safe bet to get a cold drink when I am lounging around on the beach. And by safe, I mean easy, convenient, consistent, and frankly blandly normal. The drinks menu is nothing to write home about, this service is perfectly adequate and perfectly courteous, the food is as you'd expect this sort of hotel. It's all very normal. To be fair, the dining options are pretty good. There is one restaurant that has a decent selection of Western food including such dishes as; burgers, sandwiches, pasta. And another restaurant, which specialises in Asian seafood, and usually has a buffet on at some point at the weekend. The hotel has a big swimming pool out the back, but as you would expect, beach-goers cannot use this as it is for hotel guests only. You'll have to use the public facilities on the beach. It is also quite large, which makes it really good for functions away from Hong Kong Island. It's a rather rather pleasant day out from the office! For me, the main purpose of the Silvermine Beach Resort Hotel, is as a marker point to know that I've walked far enough around the bay - sorry!

Not entirely sure how it can be called a resort but it does add a special ring to it especially when seeing the name online and instantly thinking "Oooo a resort!" I like the place, I've got to say, not that I've ever stayed there. Being a Mui Wo resident means I get to visit the resort any day I wish to have is high-tea buffet - another one of those titles that make you think "Oooo high tea!" It's a little over priced but the food is good, especially if you're sitting outside enjoying a nice day right by the beach. If you're in the mood to relax then Silvermine Resort gives you the opportunity - just try to ignore the really ugly exterior of it and you'll be fine. They do have a spacious restaurant inside but the food they serve there doesn't seem to be of such a high standard. I've also been to Silvermine Resort on two other occasions when they were hosting parties. There's a pool behind the indoor restaurant that adds a little something to the party scene and the DJs really like to play their music loud. The problem I have with this is that at any other point during the year the pool is off limits to anyone but the guests. I literally pulled out my money and asked to use their pool... still no. They pointed out, and rightly so, that there's a beach not one hundred meters that way. I didn't want to get salty, nor did I want to be crowded at the beach. Instead I walked home in a huff then devised a plan that would see me dig a tunnel under their walls and into their swimming pool. That plan is still under construction.

The hotel is awesome for any occasion. They provide a very nice buffet breakfast that is in a very nice restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is located in the Gold Coast part of HK, near the Tuen Mun area. You can get there by UBER or taxi from the airport. Far less fussy than taking the bus. Bus A33 drops you off close to the hotel but we still needed to UBER to actually get there; from the first bus stop from the airport there was no way to get to the hotel by walking. The hotel provides a bus to get to downtown Hong Kong (Tsim Sha Tsui) which was excellent. It only cost 30 Hong Kong Dollars per person each way. The bus drops you off and picks you up at The Royal Hotel. The bus from the hotel goes back and forth on the hour up to 10:00pm. Very convenient! The concierge was excellent answered all our questions on how to get from place to place. The Gold Coast hotel is very close to the Teun Mun Ferry area where you can take a ferry to Macau. Great place to stay very clean and upscale... would definitely come back and recommend the hotel to others.

The service is due to the fact that the tourism college is connected to this hotel, so they're very committed to making sure the students know the proper way to treat customers. Secondly, all the amenities that come with the stay were fabulous! We opted for a Harbor view King room on the executive level. Totally worth the extra coin!! Our mini bar was filled everyday and everything in it was delicious and complimentary. The breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor was a real, quality buffet. It had dim sum, traditional English breakfast items and American items as well. There was an omelette station, an udon station and a fresh juice station! This buffet was complimentary with our executive room. You could also enjoy breakfast upstairs in the Above & Beyond lounge, which we tried once. But it was a menu only option and the buffet was too good to forgo. Another perk of the executive room was the complimentary tea time and cocktail hour in the Above & Beyond lounge. The rooms are a little lacking of soundproofing, so I'd suggest earplugs and white noise if you're a light sleeper like me.

The lounge was wonderful for a quiet breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails. And the minibar in the suite was well stocked with sodas, juices, water, tea and coffee. The suite was reasonably priced versus suites in other hotels and allowed an occupancy of two adults and two children. Definitely recommend this hotel.
