I live in Southern California and am a user of chiropractic. My job requires a lot of attending…read moremeetings and also travel. This week after a grueling flight, my neck was severely out of alignment. I decided to try this team after searching the internet. I wanted to make sure I was able to communicate my pain issues. Within 10 mins of speaking with the Dr. he knew what my issue was, he explained how he was going to correct/adjust and then he went to it. It was immediate relief and he was able to address my back and front ribs which were giving me shoulder rotation pain. I had a chiropractor in California who was able to do this but he moved to Hawaii, so I was thankful this Dr. was able to relieve not only my neck and upper back pain but also the rib adjustments were a pleasant surprise and reiief. I will definitely come back when I'm in HK next year again.

I should fair in saying this but I have never really had faith in chain medical service providers…read more They give me the feeling that they don't really care about their patients and they are just trying to bolster their coffers in asking you to go through absolutely unnecessary tests and so on. The fact that you seem to find them everywhere also gives me a sense that its medicine on the cheap. So you might be wondering why I actually bothered to go in the first place. That's because for one of my jobs I actually had to go to their centres for a pre-joining medical check. Needless to say their centre was big and clean, felt more like a showroom rather than a medical centre if I'm honest. I was led in to conduct the tests and they were extremely careful about what they did the whole way, despite the fact that they must all have to go through plenty of these humdrum tests all day long. The tests were completed very quickly and I noted that they had a dental practice at the same location. I thought to myself that since I'm here I might as well get that done as well; they actually had a place for me immediately and by the next hour I had it cleansed and looked at. All this brought to me the reality of the situation: we may all want a family GP who talks to us for half an hour and attends family weddings. The thing is though, nowadays we want good, cheap and quick medical service and UMP is right up there.

He was in our hotel room in 1.5 hours and saw my husband there, without us having to get in a taxi, travel to the medical center, register, and wait to see a dr there. This was SO much better for my husband, who had a fever and did not want to get out of bed. Dr. Kung was efficient yet thorough, and gave my husband some antibiotics as well as fever-reducing and anti-nausea medication. He also left his card for us to call him directly if my husband got worse. It wasn't cheap but it was so worth it to have a house call in our hotel room. We were very pleased with Dr. Kung and the house-call service offered.

She's in her 30s and is working hard to support her son and father (or father-in-law). When I came to her, I was tired and sore from a 14-hour airplane ride and extensive walking to tour HK. She worked out all the kinks in my back, neck, and legs. The head massage portion was also great and really helped me to relax. During the massage, we had a great conversation and I learned that she had received training on giving massages, etc., and it certainly shows. I am planning to come back later and bring my boyfriend. If you are happy with her service, I recommend leaving a nice tip for her and her small business. She speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. But she is very friendly and welcoming, and there are English signs to see the price and kinds of massages you can get.

If I am not mistaken, this is the one and only Jjimjilbang (Korean spa) in Hong Kong…read more The place is located in a commercial building without much signage. Entrance is a closed door with metal gate, feeling kind of like you're entering someone's home. The lady who answered the door gave me a tour around: the lockers, the shower room, the sauna room, and so forth. There are also a nails corner, massage room, scrub room, etc. It was a weekday afternoon and seems like of the few patrons I am the only non-Korean. (The others were chatting on the phone in Korean or reading Korean magazine or watching Korean tv...) Staff are Chinese who speaks some Korean and Cantonese. I changed into my bathrobe, took a shower, then sweat a bit in the sauna room - made of jade and yellow clay, which supposedly help with detox. Afterwards I chilled out a bit in the living room, where I was told to "make myself at home." I opened one fridge, found some soda as well as little bottles of yakult. I opened the other fridge, wondering if there would be snacks (which some jjimjilbangs do provide), and found what looked like employee lunchboxes. Certain that I am not to "make myself at home" to such extend, I settled down with some tea and yakult and used the free wifi to catch up with life. Finally I told the lady that I'm ready for my body scrub. The body scrub is my favorite part of visiting a jjimjilbang. An ajumma will scrub literally every inch - okay, maybe minus a few square inches - of your body with a mitten, leaving you with baby soft skin. Afterwards, a bit more hanging around the sauna area till you decide it's time to go. For the adventurous, this place also provides chai yok (see http://www.fastcompany.com/3041307/body-week/i-went-to-a-spa-for-my-uterus-and-this-is-my-story), a vaginal steam bath using Japanese mugwort to regulate your menstrual cycle, cure your "female complains", lose weight, increase libido, and bring (literally) inner peace... Don't ask me... I guess I'm not *that* adventurous... True to jjimjilbang tradition, this place is open 24 hours - yes, you can stay overnight. It's for female only. Unlike most jjimjilbangs I visited, you can't just go in with a low entrance fee; you have to book some service - massage, scrub, whatever, I guess in some way to make the place more exclusive.
