Lasik in Hong Kong? You'll probably come across the Hong Kong Sanatorium Hospital as a recommendation. After googling options, reading forums and asking for recommendations from friends and family, I decided to go with this clinic to do my Lasik. Booking an appointment was a breeze. The receptionist whom picked up was pleasant, patient and answered all of my questions. She gave me their prices and here they are:
1) Surgeon preference:
Initial consultation: $1250+ (+400 wavefront fee - if needed)
Surgery: $29,000
2) No surgeon preference:
Initial consultation: $880 (+400 wavefront)
Surgery: $22,000
Dr Chang is the head surgeon of the clinic and many people may feel more comfortable going with him. If you don't have a preference, their computer will assign one to you. When you are assigned a surgeon, there is no flexibility in changing appointment dates. For example, my surgeon was Dr. Chan Wai Man and his surgery dates are on Weds with follow-up appointments on Thurs. If you have specific cut off days, do let the receptionist know.
The clinic is located on the 21st floor of Pacific Place On, and its gorgeous! Most of the consultation is carried out by the staff and towards the end of the appointment, the doctor is available to answer any questions you may have. Dr Chan was very friendly and gave realistic expectations of the outcome of the surgery. The wait time for surgery was 2 weeks and payment was to be made the day of.
