We walked here after spending three breathtaking hours at the Royal Alcázar of Seville. I ordered the power salad. It was a beautiful combination of tender moist chicken and quinoa and garbanzo beans and greens with a yummy pesto dressing. Everything was so fresh. The pesto dressing was delicious and not overly salted like so many restaurants tend to do these days. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and accommodating. This cafe is clean and comfortable. It was the perfect spot to reenergize and have a fresh and delicious lunch. They have other offerings that look so good as well. And if you get there before 2:00 p.m., you can order from the breakfast menu. Thank you, Filo, for serving deliciously healthy food. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal.

This place is relayed to but distinct from the Bodeguita Antonio Romero, which is newer; this restaurant has been family run since 1939. The menu is only in Spanish, but some staff speak English. They have many wine options by the glass and the classic red vermouth, but we opted for house rioja, which was great. Onto food: they have various size options for most dishes, which is nice if you want to try more variety. Atún rojo envuelto en iberico: red tuna wrapped in iberico and the most amazing tomato sauce Bonito en escabeche con pimentos asados: canned bonito but with a nice acid from the escabeche Pringa: their classic sandwich Carilla: pork cheek served on fries, so tender and rich, not overly fatty Espinaca con garbanzo: spinach and garbanzo stew Alcachofa confitada con taquitos de jamon: confit artichoke stew with their ham version of fried, diced pancetta Everything comes out pretty quickly, but every dish has such great home cooked depth of flavor.
