What a charming, fun little shop! I like to mix high-low, so I shop Elizabeth Antony's and Tootsies, but it's great fun to find a cute accessory and an occasional jacket, shirt, or straw bag at A Bientôt. Fun table decor, too. They have both "knock-offs" and real deal items... you can either ask the staff or just know your stuff. I've been shopping there long enough to know the staff: I find them friendly, very honest, and helpful. Those who take offense at the young ones working there are easily offended... they're young and inexperienced, trying to gain experience there. Jeepers, just smile and ask for what you need! Terrible customer service. Came in looking for a Emily McCarthy dress, and was literally glared at instead of welcomed or asked if I needed anything. After 10 minutes of looking myself while the girls just stared at me from behind the counter, I left. A Bientot is a wonderful place to while away an hour or so looking at very cool jewelry and accessories. I think the prices are reasonable given the style-quotient and but people who are game for ferreting out bargains on Harwin may find this place over-priced. In addition to jewelry, they carry Lilly Pulitzer paper accessories as well as Adler notepads. There is also a selection of shoes (think espadrilles) near the back of the store. AB definitely has an upper-class vibe but not in an obnoxious way. The salesgirls all seem to be cute girls from the River Oaks area and are friendly but not intrusive. You can browse and try on pearl necklaces, headbands and sparkly earrings to your hearts content! read more

I have been shopping at a' bientot since before they moved to their present location (about 10 years). In the past they have carried beautiful leather handbags made in Italy. The bags were really high quality bags that lasted many years. Now, I would not buy one thing there! A few of their large tote bags are real leather but most of their handbags now are fake leather. I thought it was my imagination so I asked the sales person and she confirmed that they are fake leather. So they went from high quality leather bags made in Italy to fake leather bags made in China. This only makes have doubts about the quality of everything else in the shop. I won't return. read more

I expected so much more out of this little shop, but I'm not really sure why. Oddly, it looks more exciting and enticing from the window. Once stepping inside, I saw several things that caught my eye but then....then I looked at the price tag.....and then I put them all back down on the table. I'm not sure where the buyer sources the stock from for this store, but the markup must be about 500% at the very least. It is River Oaks after all, I suppose. There were a few cute , slightly reasonably priced items, but they were all small. The best thing in the shop was the nice selection of Jeffrey Campbell and Melissa shoes, which can be hard to find around town, but my guess is they're cheaper elsewhere. Also, there is something to be said for the presentation of this store. It's obvious that the owners are trying to give it the air of an estate sale or antique store by having things such as jewelry and small clutch purses junked together in boxes and bins. But the effect just isn't quite the same when a bargain is nowhere in sight. read more

I REALLY wanted this store to be my "go-to" store...but it failed me, once again. I have stopped in occasionally to buy myself something or to even purchase a gift for a friend. EVERYTIME I have been to this store, I never get greeted, not even with a "hello". Last week I stopped in to purchase a gift. A pair of ladies came in before me. I could tell they were "regulars" as they called them by name. They were greeted and the sales people offered to help them. Not me. They spoke to them as they shopped. Not me. One of the ladies was looking for a particular item and couldn't find it...they sought it out for her. Not me. I truly think the customer service at this boutique needs a COMPLETE over hall. Do you need a pashmina, some $90+ costume/bridge jewelry, or personalized notepaper/wrapping paper/paper towels? Then this, my friend, is your store. Don't go if you're underdressed, and don't go if you're a man (I almost had to send my fiance to the car during our quick tour of the store - the chatter stopped everywhere he went). There are a ton of accessories here, lots of them with big Texan flair. CuteTa umbrellas, bathrobes, even some clothes. I wasn't kidding about the personalized paper products, either - check out the back of the store for all of your personalization needs. Last but not least, if you need any doodads to fasten your clothing to you or make your 5-inch heels more comfortable, they have an unmatched selection of adhesive products. I wanted to love this store, but the customer service here leaves a lot of room to be desired. I came in at around 4 pm on a Saturday - there were three employees and only one other customer. I was not greeted, and despite carrying around several items was not approached by the two bored-looking employees behind the counter, nor the third associate. Nearly every single item was sold out in sizes XS and S. As a nearby resident, it would have been nice to find a go-to local boutique, but sadly this will not be it. À Bientôt is as good as it gets for great quality, inexpensive costume jewelry. I was thrilled when I stepped in this surprisingly well stocked boutique. Though some of their stuff is expensive, high end brands like Kenneth Jay Lane, Santi, and MZ Wallace, they have the best prices in town! Their employees are very nice and never pushy (like some other places I know), and I find their only negative is they're never open on Sunday. Every time I leave this adorable store I feel like I've been to Paris and New York, with a touch of Rio without spending even a fraction of the cost. read more

Lameeee. I guess it's cuz I'm a guy? I went in to look for a gift of some sort for a friend while I was in the area burning time. At first they were locked up, but I saw people in there...? Why, what are you doing? So I went down a few stores and got a coffee and wandered back. Then they were open. Ok...? Browsing around in here, is like others have said, a cluttered estate sale. Except everything is way to expensive. A bunch of chintzy junk if you ask me. Who buys this stuff? I guess they do custom printed stuff or something, because I can't fathom any reason to make a trip out here for anything. There was just nothing special about anything, they did have Mighty Wallets though, which were surprisingly set at retail price... So I got one of those for funzies. Won't be back unless I'm burning time in the area again and a friend just has to go in and check it out. read more

I've really tried and I just can't shop here. I love the products but I can get them elsewhere! Every time I've been in here the people working treat me like I'm a ghost - aka don't even acknowledge me. Hours aren't on website so I checked yelp and when I got there around 5 I was informed they were closed. I told the woman no big deal but just so you know yelp says 5:30. She looked at me like I'm a moron as she closed the door. I try to support local businesses but it's hard when you encounter attitude over and over. I tried but never again! I'm now headed to Neimans to get jewelry to wear tonight. read more

A Bientot has a fabulous selection of costume jewelry - I'm particularly fond of the turquoise and coral earring festivus on the righthand side of the store. You know, the kind of earrings that your grandmother in Palm Beach wears, but would secretly look fabulous with your tunic and white jeans in the summer? Yeah, don't be embarrassed. My problem with A Bientot is the prices - I have it on good authority that they buy all this stuff in the NYC knockoff rows, and then mark it up tenfold to sell to unsuspecting Texans who don't know that pashminas should actually cost $10 and that earrings made of enamel should never, under any circumstances, go into the 3-digits. It would probably actually be cheaper to buy a flight to New York and buy all this stuff first-hand, than to blow it out here. That said, there is a dizzying selection, and it's quite fun to browse! This boutique has an array of beautiful clothing and accessories. My favorite items in the store are the dainty monogrammed necklaces you can order from them. They have various brands, sizes, and price ranges, from gold plated to real gold. They also have a small selection of Jack Rogers sandals. Their handbags are also wonderful and again, some are very high end, but plenty are on the affordable side. I love stopping by here just to look if I am in the area. read more

I've been a customer of this store for several years. They offer collections that are unique to Houston and the assortment is always changing. The owner has an excellent eye for fashion and jewelry. I love to shop for myself and can always find the perfect gift for my mom, sister, a friend, my husband, and even gifts for babies and kids. I love how you can personalize with your name so much of what they sell. And the owner has always been particularly welcoming to my children in the store -- some owners are annoyed when you bring your kids into their store -- but never Betty. The girls that work there always give me my space to quietly peruse all the inventory (which I do often) without doing a hard sell. The location is also great because it's smack dab central for Houston making it a convenient stop any day of my week. It may be Houston's best kept secret, as not many know about this shop tucked away on River Oaks Blvd. I l love Abientot! read more

Zero stars - cheap cheap cheap. I live in River Oaks now but grew up with practically nothing and still would not have bought anything from this store. I can't believe they can sell this junk! Ladies if this really is your style, save some money and go straight to Harwin Drive. You will find the exact same stuff there at a fraction of the price.
