About a year ago Clover sold their state-of-the-art coffee brewing machine to Starbucks. Until that point, only around 150 of the brewing systems were sold worldwide to cafes and coffee enthusiasts - Zummo's Cafe owns one of them. For this reason, Zummo's is on the coffee map. Zummo's sells coffee roasted by their sister company, Electric City Roasting. Every week Zummo's offers about six or seven different coffees to be brewed via Clover. Do yourself a favor and TRY CLOVER COFFEE. It may, very well, change your life - even if you don't drink coffee. The Clover coffee system brews coffee like nothing else. They also offer typical espresso and desert drinks as well as a great breakfast and lunch menu. Most everything at Zummo's is homemade, and, boy, can you taste it. Safe go-to's are the chicken salad wrap (has cranberries) and the breakfast sandwich. Make sure to see what homemade soup is offered that day - it's a good size for your money and is usually very tasty. This is by far the best place to get coffee in Scranton. The atmosphere is modern, and the staff is friendly and warm. Even though I was completely new and so obviously lost, the staff joked with me and helped me feel welcome. Inside of the older looking building face, you find a large, aesthetically pleasing coffee shop. Of course, no one comes to a cafe simply for its design. Fortunately, the offerings do not disappoint. The food is brilliant, and extremely fresh. I had an orange (and I believe cranberry) scone. For my beverage, I chose the traditional Pumpkin Spice Latte because of my familiarity with Starbucks coffee. However, as opposed to Starbucks, I found that almond milk WAS an option. I've been asking for this at Starbucks for YEARS! The espresso in the coffee tasted very fresh, and the flavor of the Pumpkin Spice did not overtake the coffee flavor. It was not extremely sugary like Dunkin Donuts more often than not is, and it's flavor was not masked by the overpowering flavors of Starbucks syrups. Zumos is small but cozy. It is a comfortable place to sit down and get some work done while eating a tasty bite to eat. Zumos has a room in the front where you order and has a couple of tables. In the back there is a family room-like setup, more tables, and a porch where you can sit down when it's warm outside. Zumos has seasonal drinks and smoothies, hot or cold sandwiches, and paninis. It is a nice place to relax and have a cup of coffee. If you ordered food it will come out fast and warm (if you ordered hot food). Overall: Zumos is a nice place to sit down and get some work done, have a cup of coffee, or a quick bite to eat. It is warm and cozy and it's a place that people come back more than once. Patrick C. The baristas are knowledgeable, the coffee locally roasted, and the pastries and quiche are all homemade. They also use locally sourced honey in their Chai Latte! I grew up in the country but I am a devoted city mouse these days, and going to Dickson for a wedding felt akin to camping. The stress of the event left me needing a reliable cup of coffee and some food before the ceremony, and Yelp recommended Zummos in Scranton. The area is beautiful! The parking was streetside but easy enough to manage, and the building was quaint and homey. I already liked it. Then I saw they only had one sandwich: the chicken salad pita. If you're going to only offer one thing then it better be good and this was FANTASTIC (I recommend getting it toasted). They also helped me choose a coffee from their Clover selection and it was the balm I needed. Mellow and smooth, even myy coffee-hating husband could appreciate it (and I drink my coffee black!) Zummo's offers a creative, fresh menu full of healthy and/or indulgent selections. The chicken salad pita is a constant on the menu and is a consistently delicious lunch option. The quiche is outstanding. The filling varies each day, but it is always fluffy and flavorful, surrounded by a flaky crust. The bread pudding is the best I have ever had. It is made with various pastries so each bite is a delicious surprise, not to mention the portion is HUGE. Zummo's is definitely one of my favorite spots in Scranton. read more

I'm a student at Marywood and often walk to Zummo's with my friends. It is a great cafe- a hidden gem among the Dunkins and Starbucks of the area. The coffee, along with the atmosphere, is great. I personally recommend the quiches. Any type is delicious! Just be willing to spend a little more than you'd expect (but maybe I'm just speaking as a college student). Another great plus is how this business utilizes social networking. They post their menus and specials on Facebook daily, along with any other updates. read more

Exactly as advertised: Clean, friendly, brisk service and top-notch food. The chicken salad pita (we had it grilled, per recommendation) was terrific, and the avocado/lettuce/cucumber/feta on a baguette wasn't bad either. Water came in a great big glass -- SO much nicer than the stupid paper Dixie cup that makes you feel like a child for wanting tap water. Chocolate-chip cookie was solid too. We didn't try the peach-and-cream-cheese crepes, but they looked delicious. read more

Came it at lunch and tried the Zucchini & Basil soup with their Asian Salad (and a coffee of course). It got really busy after we got there and the staff seemed a little lost for a bit when getting the food out, they didn't seem to have an actual system in place for dealing with a lot of customers at once. That said, the Zucchini & Basil soup was amazing, if a little on the cold side, and the salad couldn't have been better. Will definitely come back, maybe before or after the lunch rush though. read more

Lovely little coffee shop that was well worth the detour on our way from Syracuse to NYC. It has a cute college-town vibe, with plenty of little tables to work or chat. Hidden gem amidst residential area. Friendly service and fresh baked offerings do not disappoint. Eclectic atmosphere with some real food. Not your skinny Minnie fare. Fresh baked scones - innovative pistachio and cherry - dry, the way scones should be, easily remedied with a pat of butter. Delicious quiche - ham and red pepper, pepper and cheese - so light, but satisfyingly filling. Breakfast peanut butter bun, a twist on a cinnamon roll, was decadent, as was the carrot walnut loaf. Coffee is better than most in a city that is surprisingly full of great non chain bold coffee options, so that's impressive. Their soups are great. Everything I've tried with the exception of a bland quiche has been delicious. It gets really hectic on weekends and the place is too small to handle the business they get (which is a good and bad thing I suppose). They have local souvenirs for sale too. Service is the normal average NEPA attitude which takes some getting used to if your not from the area. Overall pretty neat place. read more

Such a cool little coffee shop. I love how they have the old homey feel. The ladies working this morning were very nice. If you want to use your credit card/debit card there is a $5.00 minimum the bagels with cream cheese was tasty. We stopped here on our drive back to Havertown from Towanda, PA. It is a cute place with more space than you first see when you walk in. The service was quick and friendly. The lunch menu had two quiche options, two soups, two salads and two sandwiches. There were several coffee's to choose from and multiple baked goods, with gluten free options spread across the counter. The four of us left very full and happy. This is a nice neighborhood store, worth a little detour from the highway. Bright, spacious restaurant with plenty of seats. Good selection of coffee / espresso drinks of quality. Everytime I'm back in town I make it a point to go to this place...I have gone here for years and I love the chicken salad pitas. I remember coming here to study years ago, it was a great place to sit and surf the web...the place is deceptively large with a huge seating space in the back.
