The Gatsby saved my wedding day!…read more Not only is Gatsby my favorite shop and wine bar downtown where I can always find a unique gift on any budget, Katy and Hannah saved my wedding day by hosting us for a private party when our first ceremony was cancelled due to illness. After the outdoor ceremony, we headed to the Gatsby for our reception, where Katy and Hannah hosted us with the wine bar and private shopping. Katy has such a unique talent for creating a modern '20's aesthetic is the millennium's '20's era. We had access to Bluetooth to play our own playlist and have our first dance. Thank you Katy and Hannah for giving us a better reception than we even originally had planned. We are so grateful you both were a part of our day.

I love long flowing skirts and they have dozens in gauze or cotton, solids and prints like ikat and paisley. Wide leg, billowy pants in an array of patterns and pant lengths are in abundance. Plus tanks, maxi dresses, shawls, ponchos, hats and scarves. The clothing for men is in similar prints and patterns. Button up shirts, pullovers and wide cotton pants. My fave is their long sleeve cotton shirts made in Tiabet with graphic prints of The Tree of Life, sea turtles, elephants, the sun.p, etc. The more you wash them, the softer they get; they are soooocomfortable! I wear them going to and from the gym or just running errands. People always stop me and compliment them. Today I bought a charcoal gray with a graphic print of two entwined elephants. Like the other Kathmandu stores, there are lots of Hindu goddess statues, meditation bowls, tapestries, ponchos, shawls, beaded bracelets, an entire shelf along the wall stocked with incense, some silver jewelry and lots of pillows. When the second employee started to ring me up she kept stopping to help the first. Ultimately I ran out of time after over an hour, I never anticipated it taking so long and it's no exaggeration. Even the first customer kept telling them no when they couldn't figure it out because she wanted to leave too. I asked that the employee put the items on hold and I'd be back. She had my name from waiting to purchase with my card and yet when I came back not only had everything been put back but the prices had changed and half of the items I had selected had been sold. Suddenly I was paying 3x the amount I would have, for fewer items overall. I honestly get better service online and yet they've lost my business.
