I used to live on Hermosa beach, and that coastline sidewalk all the way up to Venice was primo for riding. I wanted something specific though, I dont do tricks or anything because my body is old plus I'm quarantine fat... I wanted a 43"-50" PINTAIL. Like a surfboard on wheels. So I went by yesterday and they didn't have what I needed, so I bought a dope hat. Then I went into a pawnshop today by my apartment (tbh I'd kinda forgotten about the longboard thing) BUT OMG there was this old skool 90's 43.75" PINTAIL LONGBOARD. I mean literally exactly what the old heads in SoCal would gush over. I negotiated the price down a little, and then went straight to back to apparition. New trucks, new grip tape, new wheels... this baby is sickkkkk. I mean it's completely modded. Basically I just got a dope deck from the pawn shop, and then Michelle in Apparition built this baby for me.

I drove out there the same day, and the crew was amazing. They were so helpful. Electric Surf crew made this a well informed decision, they made sure I knew what I was getting into gave me options, etc. I was so glad I was able to buy it locally as well. Ford and Jerron were a huge help. I have been looking at them for years, I have done a lot of research, but never really talked to an "expert" one on one about it. So far, I have been loving riding my Pint X, watching videos on how to ride better, what to do, what not to do etc. Looking forward to exploring more cities, towns, trails, etc.

We had formerly tried the customer service corporate line and no luck with replacement seat. By happenstance, we were rebooked on our vacation to stay to Austin and driving around spotted the Bote sign! It's a fantastic store with so many different models and accessories. The actual seat we need for our Deus's isn't available for some reason, but amazing Ben was able to find a different seat that absolutely works. He had our model in the store and took the time to show us the other seat, blow it up and latch it to make sure it would work. SOLD! I bought 2 seats and 2 paddles then, took his suggestion to get 2 cup holders to see about rigging them as possible pole holders. Really happy with the customer service and great showroom. PS - this is the only store outside of Florida at this time. Now I'm not so pissed about being rebooked in Austin when the AC gave out on my hotel in San Antonio. Everything happens for a reason. I thought they'd have two levels, but it's only one here. There are so many employees at each corner. When it gets crowded, it's pretty claustrophobic. Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Damaged a Well-Maintained Vintage Bike…read more I brought my 40-year-old vintage bike -- which had been meticulously maintained for decades and was in excellent condition -- to this shop because of a stuck nut on the rear wheel. Instead of addressing the issue or replacing just the axle (which I clearly requested), they insisted the entire wheel had to be replaced. Reluctantly, I agreed. After the replacement, I noticed that the freewheel was visibly oscillating, which was never an issue before. When I brought the bike back, their response was dismissive -- claiming the problem was simply due to the bike being "bad quality." That was completely false and insulting, considering the bike's proven condition and history. I even brought a replacement axle and asked them to reinstall the original wheel (which I had marked), but instead of fixing anything, they just said they'd give me the old wheel back -- without doing the work. To support the fact that this is a well-maintained, quality bike, I've uploaded photos of the original purchase receipt from 1986 and the owner's manual -- not many people keep those for 40 years. This bike has never had a scratch and ran flawlessly until this visit. At best, this was unprofessional and careless. At worst, it was dishonest. They ignored my request, pushed unnecessary work, introduced a new mechanical problem, and then refused to restore the bike to its original state. This shop wasted my time, money, and damaged a bike I cared deeply about. I strongly advise others to stay away, especially if you value your bike and expect respect and transparency.
