Did you know Costco closes at 6pm on Saturdays? Well, we were supposed to go shopping but just had an impromptu date! We've been here a couple times and have gotten take out, always amazed me how nice the service is and how good the food is. The restaurant was empty, BUT takeout was a revolving door. Came before a summer Blossom Music Center concert with the Cleveland Orchestra, and had a sit down meal. We shared an appetizer dish as well as a sushi combo plate. The shrimp tempura appetizer was crispy with a light soy dipping sauce. The sushi combination was good including clear soup, salad, eight pieces of sushi and a California roll. Im visiting the area and I was craving sushi, this place has good reviews & items are priced fairly well so I was hopeful. The fried rice was very good. My other 3 items were a miss...The miso soup did not taste like miso, it literally tasted like water. The spicy roll (I got tuna) had soggy seaweed so im guessing it was old. There was also no avocado or cucumber in the roll but I know some restaurants make it that way. Usually Zuki has a really chill atmosphere, good food , and prices, but recently we have had a bad experience. I had an online order pick up and no one even tried to help get my phone number until 10 minutes of me standing in front of the sushi counter. Granted, when I did finally get service it was nice and polite as usual. The food on the other had was not good at all. The kani roll and white tuna roll tasted like chemicals and the crab rangoons cake with a sweet chili dipping sauce, as it seemed they ran out of the original sauce. We've ordered from here in the past but never eaten inside before. The staff was attentive but not overwhelming. It was clean and neat despite being small. I ordered the sunset roll and clear soup and a side salad. My wife ordered beef fried rice. I loved my roll - it was super flavorful. My wife's rice needed salt and lots of yum yum but was pretty much what we'd expect from any sushi/hibachi place. I have been here 2 times and both times the sushi has been very very good. I also tried their orange chicken lunch special that was flavorful and served with rice. The menu consists of appetizers, sushi, entrees, hibachi and they have lunch specials. The hibachi I have not tried and is not cooked in front of you which can be a plus so you don't leave smelling like it. I was on my way home from an event craving sushi and someone recommended Zuki. We stopped in about an hour before close so they weren't super busy. The inside is really small maybe having 8 total tables and they have seats at the sushi bar. The menu is good sized and features a big lunch section. I didn't try and alcohol or even glance at that section of the menu. sushi: we got a sweet potato roll for an appetizer because i had never had one and recently fell in love with sweet potatoes. It was delicious!! Served warm. I ordered the bento box for my meal and got beef. $20. It was huge. First it came with miso soup (they were out so gave us clear soup) and the house salad. These were pretty standard. The box itself came with a California roll, 3 pieces of Shumai, 2 shrimp tempura rice and the meat. I chose the beef teriyaki and it was just amazing. 3/27/21 Tried a couple of new Chef Special rolls. This time I tried the Sunset and Alaska Beauty. Both were very good and are potential options to get again. I do wish they provided ginger with their sushi, as most other restaurants do. Of course, they typically have wasabi as well, I'm personally not a fan. Had a chance to try some ginger from a delicious Zuki Combo plate and it was amazing! I've never had ginger this good before! I'll have to see if they'll add it next time I order. First time experience. I ordered online and went at the time it said it would be ready for pick up and the pickup transaction couldn't have been easier. When I walked in to pick up my food this tiny restaurant (maybe ten table and a short sushi bar) was 80% full on a Tuesday at 1:30pm. I had a good feeling about this place. When I returned to work and sat at my desk and popped open my spicy kani salad and Spicy Trio Roll, I could not wait to dig in. And the Food did NOT disappoint!!! This is probably the best sushi that I have had in northeast Ohio since way before the pandemic. I'm always happy when I decide to splurge on lunch here. It's sushi, so I spend at least $15 including tip, sometimes more. They do have a reasonable lunch selection, including sushi combos that include miso soup and a house salad with ginger dressing (YUM!) as well as bento boxes and even hibachi! I usually get the sushi combo but one of these days I'm going to pick an adorable bento box! You can pick 2 or 3 smaller maki rolls for $10-13. Like I said before, you also get the soup and salad to start. My last visit I chose the Alaskan Dream special roll and purchased a house salad. The menu salad is much larger than the one they provide with the combo. The roll itself was 10 pieces and the flavor was average. There were panko crumbs in the center and I found a couple really hard inedible pieces. I simply set them to the side and continued eating, but it's something I'll consider in the future when an item has panko. They do some really pretty plating on some of the selections. A woman I was seated next to got a plate of sashimi and they had flowers and a martini glass with lights going, it was a whole spectacle. Really cool. Overall, I love this place. Reasonably priced and consistent. The hard crumbs were the first time I had anything negative happen. I shall return for a bento box, soon. read more
