However after the birth of my third child and finishing nursing it was something I thought about everyday. I desperately wanted my boobs back again!! My friend had recommended Dr Rosen and that I should go and see him. Erin and the girls were so welcoming when my husband, little girl and I arrived. Dr Rosen was amazing! He was so engaging and made both my husband and I feel so at ease. I thought it would be so awkward given that I was to be topless in front of a man with my husband there, but Dr Rosen was so professional it was no issue at all. After the consultation we were able to shop (the happiest i have ever seen my husband shopping i must say!). There were various implant sizes and you got to try out the size you were comfortable with. The most difficult part of that was managing my husbands expectations! So after the sizing was discussed and we came to an agreement on size and what would work for my body and the look I wanted to achieve. I booked my surgery date there and then knowing that if i mulled over it i would never do it. That was so easy to do and organising payment was a breeze. Everything was explained thoroughly and i was so excited! A week before surgery I have my pre-op appointment, we confirmed sizes and exactly what was going to happen. Last minute I asked Dr Rosen if he would be able to correct my c-section Scar as I had an unsightly over hang. He was so accommodating and they were able to schedule this procedure at the same time. OMG what was i doing!!! On the day of the surgery i was super nervous, however Dr Rosen greeted me and as always made me feel so comfortable. I was in his safe hands and had nothing to worry about. He marked me up with the Sharpie and there was no going back. Last thing I remember before going to sleep was Dr Rosen telling me that everything was going to be ok and how amazing it was going to be. What a wonderful person!!! First things first, it is incredibly hard to find a surgical dermatologist. In this field it often seems like aesthetics over everything. Before the pandemic ruined everyone's life I was being seen at 2 practices in north jersey - the first one didn't seem to understand why I would be bothered that my alopecia spots weren't healing and the second practice stopped taking insurance after my second appointment. As each injection is hundreds of dollars lmao that promising relationship ended quickly. Healthcare for the rich indeed. For the last 5 years I've been managing the patchiness on my own to inconsistent effect. Recently, another unrelated issue requiring surgery kicked me into high gear to find a new provider. I sought recs from my local FB group, friends and family, etc but they all kept leading me down cottage skincare and other lanes. It was actually a good old-fashioned Google search that led me to Dr. Patel. Bravo on winning the SEO game! From the moment I called (and rescheduled thrice due to car trouble - dang it MINI), the office was welcoming, accommodating, and scheduling relatively quick appointments. On my first visit, Dr.Patel and his team were thorough, curious, and caring. I felt so comfortable with them and I felt like I mattered. In many ways women become "invisible" after age 40 - add race and body size to the mix and it can be difficult to get the care and compassion needed to navigate health challenges. Dr. Patel suggested I get a full blood work up - and actually caught my low iron and anemia. So many somatic mysteries cleared up just because someone listened and cared. I have a surgical procedure scheduled in a few weeks that will bring me immediate comfort and the topical meds and injections Dr. Patel is giving me have restarted hair growth in some persistent patchy spots.
