This was my first visit at Zuarepa. For dinner we ordered an empanada which was delicious, I also enjoyed the cachapa with ham and cheese. The one dish that really failed miserably was their hotdog, they loaded it with items that were not identifiable making the bun soggy, it just made the sandwich inedible. Really enjoyed my cachapa con carne!! It was soo cheesy, the arepa was sweet. I wish the meat hadn't been sliced SO thinly, you almost couldn't get a good chunky meaty bite but the flavors were all there. read more

When it comes to food trucks, I have a huge soft spot, and my first experience with Zuarepa definitely made me melt! Located in the same parking lot as Miami Baptist church, by TD Bank and Target, Zuarepa is religiously parked there every night of the week. I must have passed them countless of times, but had not had the chance to check them out until last night. I had already had dinner, so this was pure gluttony, but my S/O arrived home late from work and was starving. So he suggested grabbing a quick bite to eat. Not wanting to waste the empty calories on measly fast food, he asked me to find some quick food in the area to get, that was still open late. Thanks to Yelp, we decided on this food truck. We arrived around 10:30pm, and perused through the menu. Zuarepa is a Venezuelan food truck, offering home style goods like cachapas, arepas, and empanadas. My S/O decided on a chicken cachapa, and I ordered a pabellon empanada. After we placed our order, we took a seat and waited. There is plenty of outdoor seating available, and your food is brought to you which is definitely a nice perk. Our food soon arrived and we dug in. My pabellon empanada consisted of carne mechada, black beans, plantains, and cheese. It was good, but very big, and I couldn't finish it. Venezuelan empanadas are much larger than the Cuban or Colombian ones, and cooked a bit differently. My S/O loved his chicken cachapa, and I had to agree, it was amazing. Consisting of a corn cake stuffed with chicken, cheese, and sauce, it was delicious. We had a very pleasant experience at Zuarepa, and will definitely return. This is a local Venezuelan food truck that is pretty loved by the community since the rows of tables they put out next to it always get packed so you might have to end up eating your delicious meal inside your car! We came for dinner pretty late at night and there was still many people there. My boyfriend is Venezuelan so he did the ordering but got us a Ripped Beef Cachapa $8.99 and a Salchiqueso $4.99. Both did take over 20 minutes to receive but they were very good! Both menu items were a huge portion and definitely a bang for your buck. 1 star because we went there for the first time and the food wasnt good, i got the burger and the meat was overcooked tasted so dry. We also had to wait almost 45 mins for a burger and a hotdog! Only reason I'm giving it a 2 Star is because the service needs to improve. I'm not saying because they're are rude. I'm saying service needs to improve because the gentleman taking orders does not listen. He needs to stop rushing, trying to multitask and focus on taking one order at a time. The food is great. My kid loves to order the patacón. But since he is a picky eater I ask for no salsa and no pico de Gallo. In one day, I had to turn around 3 different times because they kept getting the order wrong. And the last time. When I was trying to be as clear as day, he said he didn't like my attitude. Mind you. I barley speak Spanish. I was just trying to be as specific as possible to avoid an other mistake and there he goes turning around to take an other order mid sentence. Then trying to charge an other customer WHILE taking the order for the 2nd person he rudely cut me off for. I ended up getting a refund from the younger gentleman inside the food cart. I really hope they read this and understand that I know y'all can get busy. But customers will WAIT. We chose to come here for a reason. For the good food. And if that means we have to wait. That's fine. If we wanted quick service with crappy food, we'd go to McDonalds. read more

This is the second time Im left waiting for my food for more than 1 hour and when I called to find out the status of my order, both times, the phone was "not accepting calls". I ended up calling Grubhub and since they couldn't get a hold of them either they cancelled the order and refunded my money. Another time I placed the order for delivery and they called 20 minutes later to let me know I have to pick it up because they guy that does the deliveries was not available. They could specify on their order page that delivery is not available certain days... and they should have a working number listed on the page too! Although the food at this place is good, my problem with them is their service. Last time I went, not only did I get my order wrong once, but twice. I ordered to go, and had to come back twice because my order was incorrect, and then I got something that was less expensive than the item I had ordered. To be honest, I found them to be very careless. And after such a frustrating experience I don't think I'll be coming back. Which is unfortunate because their food is actually pretty good.
