Stay far away from this place. This has been the worst couple experiences of grooming. probably the most unhappy person in the world and literally pricing changes each time. we have a shitzu and a peagle (mind you peagle doesn't get a haircut) and they are charged the same. my wife called to ask questions and tell the owner how upset she was and she stated those are my prices and didn't even say why it was the same price. then she proceeded to hang up on my wife. place is a ripoff - service is terrible. the owner shouldn't be able to run a business. that is not how you treat people. read more

New owners since last review but still a great place. They sell great quality treats and items. I groom my dog myself because he has short hair but bring him here from time to time to get nails clipped and ground down. They're quick, friendly, and do a great job I also love that they help support their community. I helped coordinate NPHS wrestling teams fundraiser to benefit the team and a teammate with cancer. Even though this business is located in Lincoln rather than N. Providence, the owner was still happy to donate. I highly recommend trusting this business with your pets by supporting local rather than going to petco etc. read more

I dropped my dog off today and had to go back to get him because I left with the worst feeling in my gut. The owner did not even greet me nor my dog. Not even a hello-nothing. My dog was a little scared at first because of the dryers and she didn't even try to make him feel better, say hi-again nothing. She has no people skills and creates a very unsettling vibe. My dog was there for approximately 30 minutes before I went back to pick him up, so he was barely groomed and she proceeded to charge me $75. She asked if there was something wrong and I asked her if I could be honest-she said yes, so I told her how I felt and how she presents herself. She could have cared less. I absolutely would NOT recommend going there. read more

Poor service overall. Bad customer service and even worse grooming also overpriced. Will never go back there. I asked if I could see my dog and then woman goes "I guess." Unreal. My dog is not fully dry and his back paws are still dirty. Been taking him to the Pawsh Pooch in Franklin since he was a pup, I know it's a 3 hour job. They were done in 1 hr and 45 min. My dog was groomed there and they barely trimmed him and I don't think they did the anti shed treatment or if they did, it didn't work.

I have used z-pup so many times! They have to self wash stations and they are incredibly convenient. They have everything that you're going to need to give your dog a full bath and drying. If you happen to need a tool that they don't have out oh, you just asking the hand it to you. You can upgrade your wash package to include specialty soap, ear cleaning, nail clipping , and a few other services. It's very reasonably priced, I would call for pricing or check out their website but I'm pretty certain it's around 20 or $25 for a self wash. Their dryers are very powerful so you'll have no problem getting that pup dry. Towels are provided as well and they have capes for us humans. I do suggest wearing something comfortable, possibly water resistant because you will leave absolutely soaked. Great experience with the kids too! read more

I had the WORST experience with Zpup in Lincoln. The blond girl was absolutely not friendly and took my cat and didn't say a word. Called me when done and I picked up my cat after her lion cut. Again the blond said that will be $80 with tax!! And never uttered another word. I can't say how incredibly terrible the customer service was. The cut was terrible. My cat looks a mess. When I called to tell them they didn't do a good job, the owner actually laughed. I'm not making this up!! Won't go back and will tell others as well. I went to my first appointment and left without service. The blonde owner has extremely poor people skills. I watched as her groomer showed very little compassion while blasting a loud blow dryer in a little dogs face as he yanked repeatedly on his choker. The owner was curt, rude and was unwilling to put any effort into brushing out my silky. She just wanted to shave both my dogs. She expected me to bring them to her already groomed. The absolute worst grooming experience ever. Owner is extremely rude. The grooming was marginal at best. She barely made eye contact with my pup or any other pup for that matter.Had to cancel an appointment, canceled 24 hrs. In advance by Email when I brought my pup in the next time, she tried to charge me for missed appointment, when I explained that I Emailed her, go and look at your past Emails, she acted pissed and ended up changing me more. for the appointment. In a word: nightmare. My fiancé dropped off our pooch Thursday morning and prepaid for a full groom in advance. No small fee, I might add, and a lesson we've now learned the hard way. When I went to retrieve him in the afternoon the owner who had groomed him seemed quite nervous repeatedly telling me that he was "super matted" which was a surprise to me. He absolutely needed his undercoat fully combed out. We usually opt to have him clipped all the way down, my own preference as he is so soft then. He had some irritation on his belly, but I chalked it up to normal irritation and that it would subside. It in fact did not subside. It got worse in a matter of hours, he was itching and biting himself raw and constant ear shaking. It was disturbing and we decided to take him to the vet that evening. We could not have imagined that it would be so severe. One cursory glance at his ears and they suspected a massive ear infection. The irritation on his body turned out to be some sort of microbial infection. We were horrified. The vet also mentioned that while some of the ear hairs had been plucked, not all of them had as per his usual grooming. After over $350 worth of medication we left the vet feeling just awful that we trusted this groomer. It gets worse. We called to follow up with the owner, who accepted zero culpability for any of it. She said "she didn't have an ethical obligation to disclose medical information, that she wasn't a Vet". We understand that she isn't a vet, but she should be a professional. Not even a mention that his ears seemed irritated and that we should contact our vet? I don't think that is asking too much. It seemed like she knew something was off and it felt like she just hoped we wouldn't notice. We felt betrayed by this place and in good conscience could never recommend them to anyone. read more

I walked in with happy expectations that my experience would be as nice as everything appears through the window and in the store. It was the complete opposite. The blonde younger woman was grooming a larger dog, looked my way upon entering and then looked away without a hello or smile. She then told me she'd be right with me in an annoyed tone. I informed her I was just looking around but when I walked passed the grooming room, she was combing out the dog's snout pretty roughly w a comb and then told the dog to "stop" in again, an annoyed tone when through my observation, the dog never moved or made a sound (surprisingly seeing she was combing so roughly). I did not like the way she spoke to the dog and it wasn't even my dog! I could never imagine leaving my 5 mo old puppy with her for his first grooming experience. I felt bad for the dog there and certainly won't be taking mine despite it being right down the street. My gut tells me that she does not enjoy her job nor have the personality to greet people and their animals! Very sad read more

Five years ago this gracious business was kind enough to open their doors on a closed day so we could use their self service wash to wash 12 rescue dogs we transported across country. They even did free nail trims! The business has since switched hands but their reputation of beautiful work remains strong. Amanda's haircuts on small dogs are like art, their Facebook page speaks for itself. The facility is clean, staff is friendly and every one is experienced. read more

I was excited to find a self wash place near me. They supply and clean up, that's the only reason I didn't give a 1 star. The 2 girls didn't seem happy about my dog at all, which is odd because every time I bring her anywhere dog related the employees are crazy about dogs. Anyway, they trimmed her nails and didn't even talk to her when she was nervous. Ok that's not a requirement and sounds silly written out but have some sympathy and empathy for the animal shaking under your care. She got clipped, and that didn't help. When it came to her bath I had to use the whole bottle of shampoo they gave me because it was watered down. I couldn't even get a good lather on her. The blow dryer is advertised as forced air but my personal hair dryer at home could have done a better job. My dog has an undercoat. I couldn't even dry her so we left with her soaking wet. When we asked about settings on the dryer we were told that's what they offer for self serve and she shrugged. Ok. I used to do dog grooming and forced air is supposed to blow their loose fur out and dry them. Got none of that. I cut myself on the dirty slicker brush and asked for something antibacterial or even hand sanitizer. They had none. A dog grooming facility with no first aid kit? Odd. Overall I will not be back nor will I recommend this place. We did not feel appreciated as customers from the beginning and I did not like the attitude we received. I'm very disappointed. read more

We have been going to ZPup for years. Our first experience was when we picked up a rescue dog and we were driving by and saw the place. We went in and did a self-serve bath before bringing the pup home. Since that time I have been a regular for the self-serve baths and we have taken all of the dogs there when they need to be groomed. They listened to how we wanted them cut (they are field springers and we did not want them cut like a bench springer). Our dogs come out looking great and are always happy about their appearance. Regarding the self wash - the blowers are the same type I have encountered at other self-wash places - it blows air that blows the water and fur - they are not dryers. I have never had any water pressure issues. When I ask I have gotten an extra towel. And the tubs have always been clean. I only use my own brushes, etc., at any place I go. read more

I didn't even want to give one star but no stars wasn't an option. My dog came to get groomed and left with kennel cough her hair wasn't cut as short as it should have been and she was not completely dry ! Would not recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning again! read more

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !! Was tricked into thinking it was Mutley Crew (which is now D'Tails) over the phone so I booked an appointment brought my dog in. The worker was being extremely rude to me & to the older women the was trying to pick up her dog. When I realized this isn't the right place I immediately called to have them stop washing the dog. She then refused to give me my dog back until they charge 65 dollars ( he has only been there for 30 mins) they had only bathe the dog and it isnt 65 dollars for fucking bath ! I will NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN WILL PROMISE TO REFER MY FAMILY TO D'Tails And the fact that you held the dog until the money is paid is cruel it isn't your dog. Your preformed a bath which isn't 65 dollars ! read more

Overall this is a convenient way to wash your own dogs. I don't have to worry about hair clogging the tub and dogs shaking and getting water/hair all over my home. However, I didn't realize the the 1/2 off Wednesday special had ended that was previously advertised. I really thought receipt had reflected the discount but my on-line banking indicated otherwise. No mention of the change from 1/2 off self-wash Wednesday- not in person nor on Website. I should have asked - since I waited couple weeks to wash my dogs on a Wednesday. Things I would change if I were the owner/manager: 1. A bathroom for customers. (See #3) 2. A full (& dedicated) water tank- often there is NO water pressure whatsoever often during my dog baths. I had to wait several times for water to build back up and baths took much longer bc of this. 3. Keep the specials - was disappointed that I didn't get the discount. I think I might consider going elsewhere bc they eliminated it w/o mention. 4. A lesson in hospitality. I've been here twice and never have felt welcome. I asked to use the restroom 1st visit and was told "no". 2 hrs of washing my dogs and really was thinking of never returning. 2nd visit I asked and was told "ok, but I don't like my customers in the back." I realize they don't want people in that area bc of other customer's dogs groomers are working, but it would be nice to have a customer restroom. Also, when you first enter the place, maybe a friendlier greeting might be less off-putting. 5. Really clean the self-wash area better. Each time I had to request that they clean prior to the baths. I ended up vacuuming it on my own. Also the dog combs/brushes could be placed in antiseptic solution. I guess I could bring my own- but after using the brushes on my dogs, I was thinking, what would prevent scabies/mange (sarcoptic mite) infection? Overall: good, convenient, everything at your reach, in and out at your leisure, excellent dryers, and leave the mess here and not at your own home). read more

Made appointment, dropped my dog off, very pleasant and cheerful young lady, filled out the new customer paperwork. I take my dog for a bath 5 times a year, mostly in winter months as my dog swims every day, so I thought I would give them a try. Dog was done when promised, but when dog sat down I noticed his mating tool wasn't clean or washed. His whole under side was not shampooed. I thought they were a little high with price ($55.00 for a med. dog) but if they did an outstanding job then you can overlook the high price, BUT IN THIS CASE THEIR PRICE WAS HIGH (GOUGING THE CUSTOMER), and a poor job. I actually did not plan on leaving a review however the owner was so rude I feel like I should warn other unsuspecting patrons. We missed our last appointment as the groomer indicated that there would be a reminder email/text. None came and we missed the appointment. We felt terrible however they did not hold their end of the bargain up. We tried to reschedule and the owner who we don't even know her name as she is always rude, told us there would be a charge for missed appointment if it happened again. This time a reminder came two days ahead and all good. When we went to pay today we were charged almost 200 dollars for 2 dogs which included a MISSED appointment fee we were not told about until checkout. The grooming is marginal to begin with, and we are new to the area and were trying to give her the benefit of the doubt as she was always so rude. I think we went to 4 visits. This was it, we will never go again, and her ultimate rudeness today was a gift. No more chances our dogs deserve better, we deserve better. read more

ZPup is the best groomer we have taken our pup to. We have taken her to a few places before, and have had bad experiences with all of them! One groomer even sliced her dew claw and tried to cover it up. Since we started going to Zpup, our little one gets excited when we bring her there, which has never happened before! She also feels great when we leave, she's happy! Amanda and all of her staff has been remarkable! Friendly, courteous and very professional! We finally found our groomer for life! I have been going there for at least a year. Besides the high price I never had a complaint until now. I have a Golden Doodle and her eyelashes have never been cut on either side since she was born. She has a unique look with that which we loved. They know not to cut them as well. It usually takes a few hours for her to be groomed but not this time. They shaved her and I discovered they cut her entire eyelashes! I paid 90$ and when I put her in the car I noticed it. I brought her back inside and told the groomer what had happened and she acknowledged it that yes she had forgotten. I was fuming mad. My dog looks completely different now. On top of this she has an ear infection and I must bring her to vet now. She keeps itching and the ear is red. I am guessing maybe she has water in it I don't know. The grooming only lasted like 40 minutes? More like an uncaring carwash. I never received a refund and this very loyal customer will never go back there. read more

I am not usually one to write reviews, but this instance warranted one. The first time I used Z-Pup, on a recommendation, the service was spectacular. The groomers were attentive, the service was great, my dog looking amazing and the family was happy. The second time...not so much. I dropped my dog off this morning and brought to the groomers attention a knot of hair behind his ear/on his neck. Having long hair, knotting is sometimes an issue. We discussed taking care of it and I left. A couple of things happened, after 3 hours and never receiving a call that my dog was ready to be picked up, I called the shop and was greeted with a snippy person who blatantly told me that I was in fact called earlier this morning and a message had been left. When I got off the phone, I checked my messages and missed called and found none at all from today. Imagine my surprise when my phone is glued to my hip. So, I was willing to overlook that and drove to pick up my dog. When I got there, I just inquired who had in fact called me for pickup and what time, and again was snipped at. Again, willing to overlook because cell towers can have issues, I paid for my dog's grooming, booked a new appointment and left. Here's #2...While in the car I was petting my dog, and came to realize that the knot I had discussed with the groomer just a few short hours ago...was STILL in my dog's hair. So...3.5 hours and $70 + $10 tip later, my dog was not groomed properly. I called them as soon as I found the issue and was glad when I got the original person whom I spoke with earlier in the morning on the phone. I expressed my concern over the fact that I was willing to overlook the phone call issue, but now I find that my dog was not groomed as discussed and expected. To my surprise, they agreed that they did not finish the grooming as expected but I was then lectured on how they are not responsible for cell phone issues. They did not get the point I was trying to make about the actual grooming. I was told to bring the dog back and they would "take care of it" but honestly, who would take their dog back to a groomer who you just had a disagreement with, especially since they would need to cut some hair out of this coat. The phone call did not end well, and I canceled my next appointment. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to bother them since good business practices do not usually entail arguing and raising your voice with customers when you do not do the job you are paid to do. And just as an aside, when I got home with my dog, I did a quick look-over and found that the haircut he received was not great either. His hair on this back legs is longer than everywhere else and one back leg is actually bushier and longer than the other. Overall, not a great experience and I will not be back. Not recommended. Too busy, lacking customer service skills. read more

I have been bringing my dogs Murray and Magoo to Zpup for several years now and they love it there. The dogs are treated like royalty and always come home looking and smelling wonderful. They now offer more services than ever and last time there Murray had a hot oil treatment. Next time Magoo may get her toenails done. Life is good at Zpup. I highly recommend it, your dogs will be glad you went there. read more

I took my two Ragdoll Kitties here today for the first time. Smokey was severely matted and needed a lion cut. My other kitty Bandit received a beautiful comb out and a little bit trimmed off of his rear end. They came out looking like brand new kitties! Amanda the Groomer/Owner did a fantastic job. I've taken them to be groomed at other salons before I found ZPUP, I noticed a world of difference in their personality when we got home. We came home today and they showed no signs of being stressed whatsoever. Cat owners will understand and appreciate this, as getting groomed for kitties can be very, very, stressful. They're prancing around happy to be matt free looking and feeling great! The staff is very kind, knowledgeable, and you can see how much they love animals. The salon itself is impeccably clean. They also sell treats, collars, toys, etc...! My pets are my family, I wouldn't recommend anyone I didn't trust and I highly recommend this place! read more

That feeling when you leave the salon/barber, get a good look in the mirror and say...ohh mannn! Well, that's exactly how my poor pooch had to have felt. He actually seemed depressed for a few days afterwards. Given the circumstances though I cant blame him. Upon calling to book his appointment I was greeted by a voice of someone who didn't seem to be having their best day...Figured maybe Pete hired a new desk girl. Come to find out they're under new management. I decided I would book his appointment anyway and give it a shot. There goes my running for pet owner of the year award. I dropped him off and rather then feeling like I was leaving him in good hands I was actually stressed from the rush the woman was in to take him to the back and go about what appeared to be an overwhelming day. I value and would expect some social interaction with owner/pup upon greeting. Drove away feeling uneasy about having left him there. Returned to pick up a dog that looked completely unfinished. I actually felt awful for my little man. He was still pretty wet and had loose fur all over his coat...most of which I don't even think was his. Not to mention he seemed pretty frazzled, not typical of him in the past. When checking out I just felt as though we were a nuisance and were being rushed on our way. Took him home to clean him up, told him Ill be a better owner and am finding a new shop for next time. read more

Great place! Clean facility, friendly environment. Amanda and Jon truly have a passion for animals! I have trusted my pup in their care numerous times and I'm beyond what you would call a "over-protective, neurotic dog mom". My boy is calm and happy when I leave - he's a momma's boy and usually throws tantrums when I'm out of sight, and is just as calm and happy when I return. Wouldn't have it any other way! read more

After an extensive conversation on the phone with the groomer, I brought my two dogs to them, as they would not give me a price quote over the phone. My pups are a shitzu-poodle-mix. They have been groomed for two years very successfully without any big to-do about their type of coats etc... We brought the dogs for an initial consultation, as they claim to be so knowledgeable. After 45 minutes of the groomer telling us they would show us how to brush the dogs fur correctly (really?), they still could not give us a price on what an initial or regular cut would cost us. WE walked out the door, called Groomingtails, and had an appointment that afternoon, at a very reasonable price. I'll never go back. read more
