Best manicure of my life'

My cuticles were in terrible shape when these ladies were kind enough to take me as a walk in and I'm not joking when I say this was the best manicure of my life! Her absolute focus and attention to detail blew my mind. It was like getting a deep cleaning at the dentist but for my hands. Each finger was meticulously freed of its overgrown cuticle and the painting process was mesmerizing as she used a scoring technique to make each nail bed evenly, flawlessly gelled. I was given candy treats along with chamomile tea and I found myself dreaming of moving to New York just to come back here as a regular. For now, I'll just try to visit again as soon as possible and share my experience for anyone lucky enough to be in New York!

ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED WITH THESE NAILS! They do an incredible Russian manicure. Super attentive to detail. And they can pretty much do any nail design. I got these nails done for pride month and they are so stunning! The studio is super clean and hygienic. I'm so happy! I've come here a few times and I don't see why I'll go anywhere else.

By far the best place to get your nails done. I've been coming here for two years and I have zero complaints!

love my giraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaffe wouldn't be happier with my nails definitely worth the moneyread more

This has been my go to salon for years. The last time I came they charged me $215 for nail art…read more(simple design that required some technique but WAS NOT hand painted) on medium long nails. Seeing that they've charged other customers $150/160 for more intricate designs on longer nails makes me feel robbed and descriminated against. Hoping I can update this interview soon. Edit: $215 not $250. While beautiful, I went to several salons in the area and not one quoted over $150. A stamp using one color is not an intricate hand painted design. Edit 2: 1stly I ALWAYS tip except this one time where I rightfully felt like I was being robbed. It took 2 nail techs to even do the design because the first didn't know how to use the stamp. I was told pricing was due to my nail length and the "specialty" stamping plates ordered from another country (they are $5 on amazon from China and ofc are reusable). Consistency is what matters. Not robbing your customers based on skin tone is what matters. Customer service and not being rude to loyal customers is what matters. Several people are in the comments complaining about random exorbitant pricing and "Nikki" right beneath me has longer nails and was charged $60 less. I'll update the girlies on where they should go when I find a new shop in midtown wishing YOU all the best.

In response Nadia's review I was actually there at the salon today and witnessed everything. First…read moreof all Sonia is SANDRA and she is also the owner of the salon with her partner that the the client said she called. On their appointment options there is an option to have a one nail fix which is what this was originally about and then then Nadia said she wanted to have all her nails fixed which is an entirely different appointment time then having a one nail fix. By the way this was happening while Sandra was in the middle of doing another client's nails. I was more then understanding when Sandra had another tech start the removal process on my nails because it was obvious that she needed to deal with this upset client. So since this woman decided to change her mind and request a whole new set she didn't understand the difference between a one nail fix time and a whole set. Instead she decided to request a refund and a removal. Then another woman who was associated with Nadia was also trying to argue with Sandra, mind you she wasn't even a client. Since I originally booked my appointment with Sandra she switched us so that I can continue with her and Nadia can get her removal with another tech. So of course Sandra didn't have time because I had my appointment booked. Mind you the whole time Nadia got a removal she could've just gotten her one nail fix. And by the way another girl with an appointment came in and was also very understanding since they were still removing Nadia's nails. Obviously this is why you can't just change your mind the day of your appointment because they have other booked appointments and fit you in based on your original request, it's not for you to change your mind. By the way on the Vagaro app there are 472 reviews and they have five stars so you should check out those reviews before you decide based on one bad review. You will see people like me that absolutely love their work and professionalism. And I included my nail design that will show my ring which will be on their Instagram for today's date as well just in case people try to say this is a fake review.

I booked a detailed nail art appointment with Sandra after sending my desired design to Art Up…read more Even though there is a price range for the session, beware of upcharge for senior artist. Sandra is a senior artist, so her price is higher. The studio also charged $10 more to remove my existing dip powder set in addition to their normal removal fee (which applies to gel only). My nails ended up costing $210 in cash (they only take cash here). While I was content with the outcome, it was not close to the original design I sent. I felt that there could have been better communication up front about the extra charges. I would prefer to be informed before they start working on my nails instead of during, where there's no option to back out. It has been 3 weeks, I noticed the colors have faded, and the top coat on a few nails peeled at the edge. Other than that, no broken nails or anything major. In my opinion the experience at Art Up is not worth the high cost.
