Very cute place for dessert. We got the 4 small one to try and our favorite are mango orange and coconut. I also love the waffle on the stick. The place is very cute and great sweet customer service.

Really cute little place for paletas and I loved that that you can get the mini paletas flight of 4 for $8. We did this with our two toddlers so each person was able to pick a flavor. They had the helpful blue signs to mark the dairy free options. I really enjoyed the bunelo and the ube mochi flavors. They also have a nice sensory wall for toddlers which includes a track to race little cars. Would definitely come back to try other flavors!

After walking by during the soft opening, we had to pop in! This was the absolute cutest place with so many sweet options. The service was wonderful, and we got to chat with two employees who shared the story of zonkey! I wish we had brought our nephews to enjoy the atmosphere-- they would absolutely love picking out their own flavor, toppings, and finding a colorful table next to some cool decor! I even saw we could rent a little paleta station for a birthday party. It tasted amazing and we will certainly be returning!

Been volunteering for taste of np and last year this place was the best thing I had and it wasn't even close. Brunelo is . Kid friendly. Amazing customer service. . Do yourself a favor stop in and get a paleta. You'll thank me later.

Zonkey Paletas has tasty paletas with unlimited toppings for $6! Under the same ownership and in a shared space with Lucha Libre Taco Shop, this dessert spot in North Park is tasty and a good deal! They have dairy, non-dairy, and alcoholic pops. You can get dips and drizzles such as dark/white chocolate and nutella. They have toppings like sprinkles, mochi, De La Rosa mazapan dust, Oreos, almonds, etc. There is also indoor and patio seating shared with Lucha Libre. The paletas stay frozen for a while, not falling off the stick and making a mess like many other ice cream bars. I'd definitely recommend Zonkey Paletas for a yummy dessert with a variety of flavor options.

My friend told me about this place and I finally had a chance to stop in and try it! The paleta flavors are diverse enough for most if not all kinds of people. We ordered a cookies and cream paleta dipped in chocolate with sweetened condensed milk and Oreo crumble on top and matcha paleta plain. Oh my goodness these were so delicious! It was perfect and just the right balance of sweet and chocolaty! My friend also enjoyed her plain matcha paleta and we the both of us finished our whole paleta! The inside was so cute with a nacho libre decor it was so inviting and the sever was extremely helpful and patient with us when we were ordering!

Really tasty, great atmosphere, and super nice employees. Cute decore too. I'll be back!

Great Paletas but price ($7-8) can be pretty steep for what it is. Welcome to North Park! Its a small shop within Luche Libre Tacos on the right side of the entrance. Could be hard to miss if you're waiting in a line during those long busy nights. Skip on right to the side for the Paletas. We had the Matcha with unlimited topping choice. I'd recommend you go crazy with it but 2-3 options is best if you want to taste the ice cream. We went to overboard and had to scrape off our excess toppings lol Parking? Forget about it. Hard to find during prime time but possible!

I came here with a friend on a Saturday evening. It wasn't busy, so we were able to order right away. I got the peanut butter sesame paleta dipped in nutella with rainbow sprinkles. It was absolutely delicious, and I cannot wait until I can come back for more. The paleta itself was flavorful, and the nutella dip was perfect for me. You can choose to do a half dip or a drizzle with nutella or their other options.

I thought everything about this place felt like such an afterthought. The paleta selection left a lot to be desired. The selection of toppings was dismal. We got the cheesecake paleta, dipped it in Nutella, and topped with Oreo & strawberry crumbs. The strawberry crumbs tasted stale and it was not good. Could barely detect the cheesecake flavor in the popsicle. The coating of Nutella saved it, but I could have just had a spoonful of Nutella for the same satisfaction. For $7 you can get something better within a few blocks.

Newly opened, Zonkey Paletas is located inside Lucha Libre (the space used to house a wrestling ring). Because we enjoyed Zonkey Paletas from a previous Yelp event, my husband and I decided to stop by and check them out on a Friday afternoon. We stopped by a little after 3 pm and were greeted by a friendly employee. We made small talk since we had told them that we discovered them at a Yelp event the night before. We ended up purchasing: Ube, $5.50 prior to tax ($5.93 after tax)- We ended up picking a topping of pistachio crumbles (which the employee was so kind to let us have it for free, but normally it cost $0.75 per topping). The ube popsicle was creamy, which reminded me of ice cream. The flavor was very good. We enjoyed our ube paleta inside and sat at one of the booths on the Luche Libre side. At the Yelp even that we went to, we did get a chance to try the following flavors: Butter cup (my most favorite flavor that has peanut, sesame and cacoa. If you like black sesame, you will love this), Dolemite (pineapple, lychee and elderflower. A nice combination that works well together), Mango (with an option to add chamoy. Surprisingly this was my least favorite flavor) and Cocodrillo (with pistachio, koji- miso, mint and Pedro Ximenez. This "boozy" paleta was also a great flavor. If you like pistachio, you will like this). The next time we visit San Diego, I will definitely make sure to make a stop here again because I really love their palatas. Please note that there is some outdoor (partially covered) seating and only street parking (limited 2 hours, some free, some require that you pay) available in the area.

The Grasshopper

I like a good paleta, even better when they have a little booze in them, like the "The Grasshopper Boozy" with Pedro Ximenez, Pistachio, Koji-Miso, and Mint dipped in Dark Chocolate and Sprinkled with Almonds. It was a tasty combination of flavors, a little to sweet for my palate, so I would probably go for a different flavor next time. I did like that they offer a variety of dipping sauces and toppings. They offer standard solid paletas with no alcohol, filled paletas, and the boozey paletas as well. In addition to the paletas they have agua frescas and differed flavored coolers with a spice chamoy rim. They have strawberry, grapefruit, and pineapple. They are adjacent to Lucha Libre Taco Shop in North Park. There's an opening between both places.

For my last couple of trips in, which have all gotten me into Sean Diego early afternoon, La Puerta is normally one of my first stops as their afternoon happy hour is second to none and offers 50% off appetizers, quesadillas and cocktails...so it's a no brainer! I have sampled my way through the cocktails and appetizers, and while everything is tasty, my favorite cocktail is easily the Gin & Juice, and tastiest appetizer is the cochinita flautitas with the chipotle sauce. While I am not a connoisseur myself, my friends love this spot for the impressive variety of liquors, especially good quality tequilas and whiskeys. The G&J is floral from the hibiscus, earthy from the aquafaba and hominy and then classic from the citrusy gin and lemon. A perfect, well-balanced and delightful cocktail! The flautitas are perfectly fried mini taquitos that are filled just enough with the goods and queso, then a quick dip in the chipotle sauce does them good! Service was solid from entry to exit. We were after a table originally, but saw a few spots at the bar, so we bellied up there. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable and fun to interact with. The space is gorgeous, super vibey, clean and well kept. Absolute perfection that holds to the theme, but also speaks to the neighborhood. Overall, La Puerta always finds itself on my "to do" list when visiting San Diego, and for good reason!

We also ordered fries which were delicious and the Al pastor quesadilla. I will definitely be coming back for these because they were fire!! The spicy margs are also delicious! As a seafood restaurant, I was expecting the seafood to be great. I enjoyed the turf in my taco more than the surf! The tacos I had were good and seems to be their main focus on perfecting because everything else was below mediocre. I usually prefer a lot of lime in my ceviche but this was waaayyy too lime-y. This is my first time dining inside this California Burrito Restaurant…read more I was driving around in this area and I saw this California Burrito Restaurant and I wanted to give this place a try. I enjoy eating authentic Mexican cuisine. I parked my car in their parking lot then I walked inside their front door. I talked to the owner Caesar and asked him How long has he been in business at this Starling Drive location in San Diego, CA? Caesar said he's been operating his California Burrito Restaurant business for 20 years now. Caesar also said to me that he works with his wife and grown children at his Mexican restaurant every day. My order was placed by Caesar today for my lunch time meal at 12:30 PM. I ordered one Beans and Cheese Burrito. The price is $7.50. Then I had to pay a tip of 20 percent that came up to $1.25. The tax was $1.50. My total purchase today was $9.25. I had to wait at least 30 minutes later until my order number 109 was called to the front counter today. There was non stop walk in customers coming into this California Burrito Restaurant at the lunch hour between 12:30 AM to 2:30 PM today. Their majority of their customers were of Mexican descent and I saw only 3 Black People placing their orders with Caesar today. I was the only Asian person ordering from this California Burrito Restaurant this afternoon. I also noticed 2 Nurses picking up their orders today who work for Sharp Memorial Hospital today. This man and woman nurse were of Caucasian descent. It's interesting for me to get to know the population of people who are living nearby this Starling Drive location. Caesar called my order number 109 today. Then I was served a really HUGE Beans and Cheese Burrito. I also drank cold ice water today. It was a beautiful day today because the weather conditions were very cool and cloudy. I sat down at this window seat so I could see the outside. The Beans and Cheese Burrito was very tasty the beans were refried and thete was a very generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese. The Tortilla was heated up and slightly toasted. This Beans and Cheese Burrito was a HUGE Size. I wasn't sure that I had an appetite to finish eating this Beans and Cheese Burrito but the flavor was amazing! I kept taking small bites on this Beans and Cheese Burrito for my lunch time meal this afternoon. I also received excellent customer service from Caesar and the rest of his family I saw was working very hard in the back kitchen area preparing and making their very popular Carne Asada Burritos.
