I know that doesn't sound like a lot of time. But... really I've been inspecting my entire life - I only started the 'business' three years ago.
Before that, I remodeled commercial spaces, rental units, and a one-hundred year old house I bought next door. I inspected it before I bought it and was able to get the price reduced 30%!
Now that's a savings.
That's when I knew I could help others in the same position. I could bring all my experience and natural talent to other people buying a home - and save them some serious dough in the process.
I don't know the actual numbers - most people don't tell me how much the home inspection saved them - but I bet the savings is at least $5,000 in repair costs.

Thanks for taking the time to read this far. Instead of boring you with talk about what a great home inspector I am... I thought I would tell you a short story.
A tiger chased a man to the edge of a cliff, he looked down. There was a bear below growling with anticipation. Seeing a vine clinging on the edge, he grabbed it and descended. About mid way between the top and bottom, he stopped. Looking up, he could see the tiger, it's salivating jaws just waiting for him to climb back up. Below, the bear was growling and standing on it's hind legs, eager to get his claws into the helpless man.
Just then, two mice came from a hole and started chewing on the vine. Watching them chew, he knew it would break at any time. He then noticed a single strawberry growing an arms length away.
Holding the vine in one hand, he reached out and plucked the strawberry and put it in his mouth. It was delicious.
