I'd be lying if I didn't admit I chose this inspector because it reminds me of The Simpsons... "Hi everybody! Hi Dr. Nick!!" Our realtor gave us a few recommendations and they had the best Yelp reviews so we went with them. Glad we did! Nate does a nice job talking you through everything in the inspection process, and you can tell he knows about customer service. Sometimes the inspectors can be a little gruff, or maybe too direct. Nate's so personable and honest, it's a refreshing change of pace. They are also very thorough and cover top to bottom. This inspection ran us a bit more than one in the past, but that's because we added chimney and sewer specialists to it, so all in all it worked out to be about average in cost. Apparently they're very responsive as well, which is good because I have a few questions after digging into some details. Assuming the best and rounding up here based on prior communications. I'd recommend them and will with for them again down the road. read more

nspector our next house. We were busy doing the things to close on our home and preparing to move. We trusted that Nick would show up for us as he did in the past. Instead we found after moving in that between the joists the roof sagged. The jets did not work in the master bathroom and there is no hot water coming out of the faucet on the tub. I would put a negative number if I could. PLEASE BEWARE! THIS NO JOKE! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Also when you read his responses to other negative reviews, he never takes accountability! He literally blames everything on the homeowners! My landlord had Nick's company come out to do a mold test. I have been extremely ill and going downhill over the last two and a half years due to water damage mold. It got to the point that I had to take my 5 lb dog to go live somewhere else because I did not think he was going to make it. Nick's report said that there were zero spores that were harmful or dangerous from water damage. His report is bogus. I am not the only one who has had this experience. It is my understanding that his father started the company and was a legitimate mold inspector. His kid went to work for him, and now this is the type of business he is running. I was so ill that my whole central nervous system was affected terribly. I had severe rashes and lesions on my body, I had chronic infections that would not heal. I would continue to get these infections over and over and over. His report literally said that there was zero mold toxicity in my apartment. I am so glad that I had another company come out right before I moved. This person needs to be stopped. It is not right that he is running a serious business that is affecting people's lives. This is something that people die from. You can't just put whatever numbers you feel like on a report. People go through lots of training to do this business! I wish I could tell you how sick I have been. The person who came, and I'm not sure his name because the business is named after his dad. But he was only there for about 5 minutes. It takes a lot longer than that to do an air quality test in a whole apartment. Which he did not do. I know for a fact that he did the same thing in the apartment across the hall. I was good friends with them, I was there when he showed up and I was there when he left. He was there about the same amount of time 5 minutes. This is just not right! You can look at the reviews. The good ones were obviously when his father owned the business. The real reviews of this person are now starting to roll in. The reviews are stating the same exact thing that I experienced! This person needs to be stopped! He also stinks so bad my apartment smelled all day long! read more

Nate B was AWESOME! He came out to do our whole home inspection including a radon and termite inspection. This was our first home buying experience and Nate was very thorough. I don't often give five stars to a business, but I give Nate and Inspector Nick double thumbs up. I am an out of state investor looking at a four unit building. The first inspection was scheduled on the Monday of the arctic freeze. I thought for sure Nate would reschedule, but he showed up. He was not able to get on the roof so he came back on Wed by that night I had the full inspection. It was thorough, pictures are usable and it was not a scare you don't buy report. It was balanced with major and minor issues. I don't give out 5 stars very often... in fact I started to give 4 stars kind of out of habit and while I was thinking through the process, I couldn't find any fault with my interaction! Kevin did my initial inspection and he was extremely thorough. He answered all my questions and took really clear pictures of the issues. I did my scheduling online and everything worked super. The website clearly outlines their packages and individual item costs as well if you want to go a la carte. I also received several confirmation emails about the process, the documents, the report and options for payment. Bryan completed my "re-inspection" and again he did a really thorough job of assessing the actions taken or not taken. He was also very receptive to my questions (and trust me, I ask a lot) and provided plain English responses. I also had the opportunity to speak to Nick when I was scheduling my re-inspection, I did this over the phone with him and although his office person was out, he took the time to take my call and schedule my re-inspection. It sounded like he was in the field but when you are on tight closing deadlines- there is nothing more frustrating than to have your calls go to VM or to deal with delays in obtaining information. The fact that he took time to take my call really tells me about his commitment to service. These guys came to me as a recommendation from my realtor and she hasn't steered me wrong yet! He'll probably say anything you want for money. He really really screwed me and my family over with his lies. With so many other inspectors out there I'd suggest you find someone else. A pretty Unethical way to be, he listened to nothing that I had to say and he ignored the pictures that I had taken. The damage that was done to my home happened immediately following the other problems that were caused but Nick seemed to feel the need to lie to make sure his friends from the big corporate roofing company got their way. I strongly feel like Nick from this company had his mind made up before they even got to my home. He lied and tried to cover up his corruption by saying that it was a home science problem while ignoring the extremely obvious truth and cause of the problem. It's a good thing for this guy that inspectors in Missouri aren't regulated because he might have to be held accountable for his actions. I had several other professionals look at the same problem and they have very different opinions on the cause. Every single ceiling in my home had water damage on it and had to be repainted at the same time that the siding on my home was damaged and it was extremely obvious that the water came from the inside of my house because there was attic insulation on the side of my home. Either inspector nick Is not intelligent enough to see the obvious or he's a paid goon for a major corporation. read more

My wife and I are having a custom home built and we are incurring some issues during the framing stage. I called Nick to ask him several questions and he suggested we meet at the job site so he could set eyes on the project so I could point out my concerns to him. The next day Nick met with me at the job site and not only substantiated my concerns but also pointed out several other issues which needed to be addressed by my builder. The information Nick provided was both informative and insightful. Nick took the time out of his busy schedule and did not ask for any form of compensation. I have been the real estate business for many years and after speaking to my fellow colleagues found out this is not isolated. DO NOT ALLOW ON YOUR PROPERTY! They cause damages to a home and also will purposely scare home owners so they get more inspections from them which costs both parties. BUYERS BEWARE, they will offer discounts for subsequent home inspections after the first deal falls apart!! So no person is perfect neither is a home, he will say this could happen, that could happen, doesn't mean it will!! Pick another Company... The report was overall written well. However, the gas leak was false, which caused an issue with my negotiations on the house, as well as the report lost credibility with the Seller who was unwilling to offer much in the way of repairs or cash. The Inspector did not want me to tag along during the inspection, nor was he very willing to photograph water damage that I pointed out, after that request he began to become very short with me and rude. read more

Nick contacted me back months ago to discuss the issues and I never saw his email. He came to our house today and showed us how to fix something that we thought was broken. It was a simple fix and one that wasn't over looked by him when initially inspecting our home. It was a outlet that needed resetting. The other things that we thought were issues were addressed in our inspector report and I was unaware of that. Turns out they weren't issues. Better communication between us and Nick would have solved everything from the get go. He was as sincerely nice today as when he first came to inspect. He prides himself on doing a good honest job. We recently had Bryan from Inspector Nick come and look at a home my wife and I had put an offer on for the presale inspection. Bryan was on time, friendly, and professional. He was extremely thorough but also understanding that the home is nearly 100 years old and so it would come with some inherent issues. Inspector Nick's reports are terrifying. He can make a good home appear like it might fall down and become infested with the next plague. In his report he states, "This may happen" or "This could happen". The only thing that he didn't state could happen in the future, is that a Tornado could happen and destroy the house and end your family. He can make any buyer back out of buying a home and cause a seller to have to attach his "could happen" report to their disclosures and scare any future potential buyer. His reports are not helpful but hurtful for both parties involved. read more

Unbelievable service. Bought my home last October and had them inspect it. 2 weeks ago my hot water heater went out and Old Republic Home Protection gave me the complete run-around saying that it was out of code and they wouldn't replace it. After a week of headaches and constant phone calls to everyone involved in the purchase of my home I finally called InspectorNick. After 10 minutes he walked me through all the code and explained why everything was in code. Called back after hours on Friday evening (7pm) asking about plumber recommendations as there was no way I would use an ORHP recommended plumber and InpectorNick got me contact info to a plumber they'd recommend on Saturday Morning. Couldn't believe the level of service and the assistance they provided. They will definitely be my first call if anything else were to go wrong and will, without question, be my inspector on all of my future home purchases! read more

Nick is wonderful, and very pleasant to work with. My husband and I just moved back here, and we have been looking for our first home for about a month or so. And Nick was recommended to us, well him and his company so we of course went with him. He was on time, he was thorough, and definitely fun to work with. Ok I used this company in February 2014 for inspection services when my wife and I purchased our current home. Nick was very nice and explained things well. But the following negatives would prevent me from using this company if I needed an inspection service in the fulture. First nick accidentally broke a bottle of wine that fell out of the last homeowner's garage refrigerator. Ok accidents happen but I assumed Nick cleaned up the entire spill. This was not true the last home owner was understandable very upset when he arrived home and discovered the wine and some of the glass was still on the garge floor. Nick also stated the upstairs furnance was not vented properly. He stated the door needed to have a vent installed. The last home owner refused to correct the problem Nick stated was an issue. After purchasing the home I had a heating and cooling specialist inspect the up stairs furnance room for proper ventilation. The serviceman stated a vented door was not needed and that the furnance was properly vented to the attic. read more
