Looking for a place to eat, my friends and I could have easily passed by Zombie Bar since it is a small entrance, but luckily we did not and had a good time! What really impressed me about Zombie Bar was it's interior, as it has a very retro looking feel in terms of the decor. Between the images/graffiti on the walls with the pictures/paintings that refer to comics, and even having an arcade machine, they try to hook you in the feel you'll experience here. They have a few small tables to sit in the front and if you do sit in the back, you'll notice that is pretty much a long rectangular table that they fit a bunch of small parties to save space. Another nice touch was their menu, as it was contained within an actual comic book and the menu items were contained in the middle of the comic. As for the food, I had a Homer burger, which is ox meat with cheddar cheese, bacon, onions, lettuce, and tomato. This is a burger I definitely recommend as the meat was very flavorful with very well-prepared bacon. I felt the bacon really added a nice touch to it. The fries were also pretty good, and interestingly, they place only one piece of a sweet potato fry on top for aesthetics (they fry itself did not taste too bad either). Oh and best thing, they placed this "Homer" burger on top of plate that had Homer Simpson pictured on it. All these little things created a great experience for me here at Zombie Bar! I stayed right around the corner while on a 2 week study abroad program, so I had the opportunity to eat here a couple of times. I highly recommend the parmesana burger (pesto, parm, sundried tomatoes, truffle oil) - one of the best burgers I've ever had! The second time I tried the chèvre burger, which was also good, but the parmesana really knocked it out of the park. Good mojitos, but too much ice. I decided to give this place a try after googling 'best burgers madrid' (effortless, I know). Among the scores of search hits, an American blogger had it among her 10 best places to have a burger in Madrid (a post from mid-2016), so I called immediately to reserve a table for 5 for the next day. (Always reserve!) Their menu offers several appetizers, salads, gourmet burgers (180g), sandwiches, and desserts, plus a small variety of beverages, including some classic cocktails. We ordered some chicken fingers to share and then each of us got a burger or a salad. The portion sizes were above-average and the taste was correct. The fries accompanying the burgers were particularly good. I usually go for the bigger sized items on the menus, so I got the 250-gram burger, the 'Homer'. A friend got the most interesting burger on the menu, the 'Black Sabbath', which came with black buns and a raisins-based sauce, giving it a gothic appearance. Despite feeling quite full, we decided to get a couple of their desserts in the end: a cheesecake and a tiramisú. To our surprise, though, they were served in mason jars (I know it's the trend now, but it was too much), which took away the actual joy of eating/sharing a cake. Taste-wise, I recommend the cheesecake. The tiramisú was a bit dull. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. The decoration is also pretty unique (check out the huge Ronald McDonald's bust hanging from one of the walls and the numerous black crows perching around the restaurant - fake ones, of course). Curious that this place got so many stars; I think it might be because the waitstaff are total zombie babes. Sure, the interior is cool; but then menu is pricey and the food is pretty mediocre. The baby burgers were just ok and the special 'nuggets' were gross. totally unexpected; ground chicken with curry powder; deep fried in cornflakes. I spent one night in Madrid a while ago and needed to find somewhere to eat before calling it a night at my hotel (One Shot 04, highly recommended). Since I've heard good things about Malasaña, I decided to walk in that direction and found this bar on Calle Pez more or less by accident. I tried the Homer, a juicy burger containing 250 grams of meat and topped with cheddar, bacon, onion, lettuce and fresh tomatoes. Quite delicious, served with homemade fries, vegetables and greek yoghurt sauce. This meal together with a nice beer selection and a friendly bartender made the evening a rather enjoyable one for me. Food: We had the ceviche, mejicano burger, brownie and umm...hmm..yea. I forgot which burger my husband had. The ceviche was ok. It wasn't exceptional but it wasn't bad either. It was mediocre. It came with tortilla chips as well which helped to offset the tartness. My burger well let's see here... It was suppose to come with spicy guacamole but instead it came out with simply avacado slices on it? I don't know if they know this or not but guacamole IS NOT simply avacado slices? The burger was cooked pretty well but overall it was bland. The brownie was good. Again, nothing stellar but not bad either. It tasted like a brownie with ice cream so. My husbands burger was definitely better than mine but honestly nothing to rave about. The mixed drinks were very good, particularly the strawberry mojito. Price: Everything was too pricey in my opinion especially the mixed drinks. When you go to a "burger joint" the prices should be reasonable/somewhat on the cheap side. Service: Not very good. They were incredibly slow with the drinks and food.. So slow that I had to flag someone down more than once to see if they forgot my order. Our waiter was nice but there was a girl helping that was not very pleasant. I also asked not to have lettuce or tomato and of course my burger came out with lettuce on it.. At least they didn't forget to leave off the tomato so that's a plus I guess? Overall: I would go somewhere else that's cheaper. I do not think we will be going back. The pictures of the burgers look great but they are definitely lacking in taste as they are not very flavorful. P.S. SOMEONE PLEASE INFORM THE COOKS THAT SLICES OF AVACADO DO NOT CONSTITUTE GUACAMOLE AS THERE IS A LITTLE BIT MORE TO IT THAN THAT AND LET THEM KNOW THAT SPICE ACTUALLY MEANS SOME SORT OF SPICY SEASONING. read more

The menu may be a little pricer than the usual Madrid menu, but you won't find more creative (and yummy!) burgers in Madrid. I also recommend trying the chicken nuggets appetizer. They're nothing like ones you've had in the states - they're 10 times better! The ambiance is very Malasaña-esc. My cuenta came in a VHS case. Love the 90's/punk/video-gamer vibe. I loved this place so much! The service was fast and attentive,even though during lunch time they had almost every table occupied. The atmosphere is real fun, weird but not annoying. And what is most important-the food is really good. We took their lunch offer (2 courses,drink and coffee or desert for less than 10 euros), and were not dissappointed. As a main dish you can choose almost any item on the menu, where you can find about a dozen of burgers,sandwiches,all of which come with rustic potato and carrot fries! Burgers are probably a bit smaller than you are used to, but absolutely delicious. We had three different variations and they were all superb,with fresh ingredients and delicate meat. I tried their salmon dish of the day and the salmon was nicely grilled,pink in the middle,with braised vegetables. When I am back in Madrid, I will most definitely come back there. read more

First saw this bar show up on googlemaps and all we thought was, "huh interesting". Then, we ended up there by accident when wandering around for a drink because it looked like a "happening" place. Besides the super large creepy head of Ronald McDonald to the right of the entrance, this bar has a fun vibe. I highly recommend a gin tonic with citadella gin (10euros) but it was good. My husband enjoyed the beer out of a jar and the bartenders are serious about the beer pour and presentation of it. Seems like a cool, hip, local hang-out. read more

My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant! Being from Texas we know good burgers and have learned none in Europe will ever compare. That being said, the burgers here are decent (I wouldn't ever expect more than decent for hamburgers anywhere in Europe) and it's great there's a variety to choose from. My husband had the mini burgers (4 burgers, 2 different kinds) he said it was good, again nothing to write home about but most certainly filling and hits the spot. I had the Milanesa con pollo (basically a fried chicken sandwich), which was really good! It said it came with "honey-Dijon" but there was nothing "honey" about it. Had there been, this sandwich would have been epic! The bread was perfect and I think there was cream cheese on it (or maybe feta? But tasted like cream cheese) either way it was delicious! Fries were pretty good too! The place was busy, especially for 3 in the afternoon. Our waitress was nice but it took me 5 tries to get her attention for the check. I understand she was probably in the weeds but it would have been nice to have been checked in on or at least look our way. If I had needed anything during my meal I would have been S.O.L. read more

Fun vibe, nice people. I ordered the regular burger (plus avocado), but with a meatless patty. It was tasty, but it looked like meat rather than vegetables or grains and that kinda freaked me out at first. Fries are good as long as they are in the wire thing, they get soggy in the metal bowl/cup. Nothing spectacular, but a great little burger spot (especially with so many in the area). Oh and their pickles are sweet...a tiny bit disappointing. read more
