Zombie Hut is hit or miss for me, sometime I love it and sometimes I don't even stick around for a drink. Sometimes it's a good crowd and other times there's packs of juice heads roaming around. I don't really get it. Drink prices are decent and the zombie bowl is fun if you're with a decent sized group.There's board games and a big back yard which is always nice. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about Zombie Hut anymore but there's worse places to get a drink. read more

A really cool bar with a great decor and a lot of theme drinks (I recommend the volcano). They have a nice outdoor patio area out back, but get there early since it closes later on. Also, as it got later in the night, the bar became uncomfortably crowded, but that's no large sin on a weekend night in New York. read more

Gilligan's Island meets a friendly place where you'll never need to roofie yourself again (just order the signature drink). If your 3-hour tour is as potent as mine, keep in mind the powerfully toxic Gowanus is nearby but there is no need to actually reenact a cruise shipwreck for your own amusement. read more

I like this place for after work hanging. It's small but has a big yard with tiki decor. It's gets packed around 7:30 pm when people make it back from the city. That's when I bail regularly. Before then I play board games and have gilligans. I end up buzzed there a lot. The place is a fun time. I like other places for my night life though. read more

Zombie Hut is hilariously kitschy, with strong, cheap tropical drinks and a lovely patio. The vibe is laid-back despite all of the themed silliness, and it's a really fun place to come with friends. My favorite place to end a night on Smith St. Their drinks are STRONG and cheap - $5 for a Singapore Sling, etc. Their back garden is awesome, too, though I wish the smokers wouldn't congregate in the middle as they sometimes do. When the backyard isn't open, it can be tough to find a place to sit down, but Zombie Hut is still awesome. I'd recommend starting your night with a classy drink at Clover Club, going for round two and some s'mores at Camp, and then heading to Zombie Hut. read more

A pretty dive bar, drinks are strong and average priced. Chill spot needs more chairs though for groups.

The place gets overly crowded and the service leaves something to be desired but everything is SO cheap, that's it's totally worth coming here. My boyfriend and I shared a scorpion bowl for 2, and then had a beer and a vodka club (respectively). Our tab was only $24 and I left sufficiently buzzed, so I'd call it a success! read more

My friends and I randomly stumbled upon this place when we were bar hopping. I loved it from the outside to the inside. It's a Hawaiian tiki bar with a zombie theme. They offer board games and gold fish crackers too. The drinks are insane and very creative. The outdoor area is great and the vibe is very unique. Zombie Huts' frozen zombies are super...sugar rim and 151-filled straw. I also enjoy the Goldfish cracker snack mix and hangy fluorescent drink decor. Drinks are strong and delicious, decor is fun. 2 problems: 1. Once I went there and my friend left the bathroom saying there were cockroaches, went to check and when I turned the light on, about 8 scattered. 2. It is absolutely FULL of guido and guido girlfriends now! I'm sure it's still cool on slower nights though and after a couple of their drinks, you won't be able to focus on the chumps anyway. read more

Great tiki bar theme throughout the bar. Its a bit of a strange lay out, as has been pointed out below, however for the average bar goer (i.e. one who doesn't go with a group of twenty people) the eccentric layout provides privacy and is generally a positive. The outdoor space is nice and is a big plus. The bar also boasts great bartenders and a fantastic drink called the Mexican pistol (Corona and Tequilla in a pint glass salted with a peppery salt concoction). Bar tender had a nasty attitude when asked if she could wipe the bar down because it was dirty she slammed the towel down then she,tried to serve us ,drinks in dirty glasses ,never wash them, ran some water on it and was about to make the drinks.... that's when we left besides it smells like garbage no a.c. The Zombie Hut is a tiki bar that does a damn good job at tiki drinks and has the decor to match. The folks helping me the night I was there were friendly and welcoming, though it was evening as opposed to late night when I'm sure it gets crazy. The place was alright. It's definitely not the best bar I've been to. Really bizarre layout- I was on the patio and had to continually pass by this hook-up cove on the way to the restroom. I have to admit that their drinks were great, save the blue coconut shit one my friend had. Overall, it's fine, but tiki themed things just don't cut it for me. read more

This was one of the first bars I came to when I moved to the neighborhood, and I started the night out impressed and left with a bad taste in my mouth. It was really fun at first! There were scorpion bowls! And board games! And then the bartender was kind of a jerk, so I went home annoyed. So the two stars are an average of the range of my experience. Zombie Hut is currently my favorite bar in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. This is a great place for groups -- there is a decent-sized back room (with a fireplace!) where we've camped out for several hours with groups of 10+ people. Zombie Hut has an impressive collection of board games, friendly bartenders, and hot spiked cider for $5. For my money, it doesn't get much better than that. read more

A good place to get sweet--seriously, sweet, even for tiki--drinks in all the colors of the rainbow. Ambiance is sortta camp, but you can make smores (ATOP A BLUE FIRE FUELED BY BOOZE!!!), and there are board games you can play. Oh, and the drinks are super cheap ($5 for most of 'em). Plus, if you're feeling dumb, you can embiggen your drinks, and get them made for two, four, or eight persons. Sippy straws for each person included. read more
