The servers ask us were we wanted to seat, and that we can grab any seats, the waitress was going to be with us shortly. I was looking at the menu and asked the server what drink he could recommend between April Showers and May Flowers and he said Whatever, they are both good anyways. I had a great brunch the other day at Zoetropolis. It was my first time and it was a really good experience. The staff and servers were very nice. Our server was friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable about the entire menu. We had the breakfast burrito and the chicken and waffles. The food was delicious. This place was a perfect stop for our large group of 10! Loved the outdoor space!! We were so lucky to get 3 tables outside to enjoy the warm weather. They were very accommodating to help us make a larger table for our group. The inside was very cute as well and would love to try I door dining one day. The service was great! So attentive, kind, and was very quick to come cha economy us and to bring our drinks and food. The food was very good! I loved the fried mushrooms, oysters and the pizza. The Brussels were good, but not amazing. Some of the pieces were too big and I felt it could have used a sauce on top or something more. They were still tasty though! The cocktails were very delicious as well! Although, my friends got Negronis and they felt they weren't the best tasting that they have had, but still drinkable. Great food, great drinks, and a great, unique atmosphere. Made a bunch of visits here over the summer and fall and was so impressed with the staff and delicious menu offerings that I was excited when my sister chose it for the first stop on her bachelorette party bar crawl! On most visits it was just the hubs, daughter and I, but this time I was with a group of 15 with varying food and drink preferences. The staff kept up with our needs and orders as though we were a simple three top. I don't know if there was a single thing on the menu that we didn't order that night, but typically I recommend the Brussels sprouts to start and either the impossible burger (comes with Their amazing hand cut fries) or the white Detroit style pizza -- the sauce is on top, so it's a little messy to eat, but one bite and you won't care how much ends up on your face and shirt. They also do delicious desserts, so try to save room or get a slice of pie to go! They've been a little short staffed in the kitchen (what restaurant isn't, right?) so they sometimes only have a limited menu, but it's worth checking back. They're pretty good at posting the latest info on their social and keeping the menu on their website up to date, so you can check there before you go. Over the past two plus years I frequented here. At first, it was a great find set back off water street. But over the last several months, the food quality has declined. It's prepared well but just not where it should be. I fear it's a matter of cutting food costs compromising quality. Over the same recent several months I've noticed a decline in the number of patrons given when I typically will be during the same time. What an amazing venue. They have a beautiful indoor outdoor bar which was decorated with lights and picnic tables. The theater was where we went to watch a performance. It was such a neat venue. They have different style chairs, lounge chairs and couches and the theater is small and intimate. We had a drink but didn't try any of the food. Yooo, what happened here? Went for the Sunday brunch today and though service was good, the food was quite notably not same. This used to be th BEST brunch spot around. Now everything tastes pre-made and is not being prepared the same as it used to be. Potatoes used to be confiet style , used to have one of the best ceasar salads with choice tender lettuce and plenty of parm, now it has almost no parm and mainly the thick water ends of romain. Sadly even the hollandaise sauce was flavorless and super thick-seemed pre made and low quality. And no more scrapple?! Why? Also portions are considerably smaller. Which, i get. Food prices have changed. But darn, I'd happily pay a bit more for even smaller portions of the delicious preparations that used to be standard here. Super bummed and wont back unless we hear things are back to the good ol days menu wise. First time visiting Lancaster, and it feels like we made the right move getting lunch here. They have a pretty decent menu, varying from burgers & chicken, to salads & vegetarian options. I liked the variety, and I left feeling like I could go back to try something totally new. Obviously, they have a strong drink menu. I actually tried the Wawa coffee stout. I've been wanting to try it for so long, and it was good, but regretted getting it with this meal because it has more of a holiday flavor (cinnamon, cloves, etc.) We had an order of their Vietnamese loaded fries. These stole the show...so much flavor - big portion (plenty for sharing with a group of 5.) It carries all the fresh & spicy flavors of a banh mi sandwich - really tasty. We also had the "boring burder" - which was good in its own right. Cooked well, nice flavor, wasn't messy or anything like that. I personally wish it would have had more of a crunch. It was served on a brioche bun, but that quickly absorbed all the good flavor of the burger & other ingredients, so while it was yummy, it just felt heavy to eat. Maybe using fresh red onion or fried onion ring instead of sauteed or something like that. Cool place inside - plenty of space. Kind of like a warehouse vibe. They have their stilling open to the public to see while you are eating. Interesting art throughout, as they have a theater theme. The outside eating looked really cool - fire pits and picnic tables. It was crowded, so you can tell its a local favorite. We unfortunately had a super long wait for our food, and an item was forgotten. They graciously took that off the bill with no issues, but without those couple of hitches - this was an all around good spot. Must try if you are in downtown Lancaster. read more

The owners of this place need to get their yelp listing revised to their new name-- Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse since it's far more fitting to the great facility they have become! ... and they were great before! We have been many times for excellent films, appreciated monitoring their move to Water Street and exceptional construction and renovation work to create their restaurant/stillhouse/patio. We finally got to experience all of it-- and it was first Friday in Lancaster which made it an extra treat. Do go. We had a brief happy hour at the bar pre-movie. The bar sells PA spirits and they have an exceptional collection plus great cocktail recipes. We then headed to the movie. We got some of their great popcorn with REAL butter... and a glass of wine for me and cider for my co-traveler.... claimed our favorite sofa and enjoyed an exceptional movie. I won't name it because we've seen many exceptional movies there, you really can't go wrong. When the movie ended we were happy to discover live music for First Friday-- Dillweed was playing great music on the patio. We got a table and enjoyed an excellent meal and tried another of their cocktails and even a glass of great local Pa wine. And I'm picky about that--- it was dry and wonderfully full flavored! Go for one or all of these things! There are also 2 'conjoined?' But separate restaurant/bars on the property... we did not visit but they also had great menus and you could partake of the same patio. Really unique and interesting place. There's a large beer and spirits menu with craft cocktails. Something for everyone. We tried some appetizers and flatbreads for Restaurant Week. Apps (starting with the best) were the Farm Stand Seasonal Vegetables, Bruschetta Fries, and Smoked Gouda Dip. The veggies were zucchini in a wine and oil sauce. The cheese and tomatoes on the fries were very fresh and complimented each other. The Gouda dip was tasty, but I would have preferred freshly made chips to the standard restaurant tortillas. The Margherita and Buffalo Chicken Flatbreads were exceptional. Great crust, high quality toppings, and flavorful cheese. They were the best part of the meal. James served our party of 4 and was very personable. Food and drinks came out slow and in bits and pieces. This visit we had the Radiatore with a vodka sauce, sausage and mushrooms and the spicy chicken sandwich. It was a beautiful night and the garage doors were open. Stopped in for dinner and a movie. Their rotating menu had several vegan options which was a definite plus for us. The service was fantastic and the food was prepared very well. When we had some time to kill we went over to their lobby bar for another drink and dessert while we waited for movie time. The service once again was wonderful. I love the vibe of the theater, lots of seating choices from couches to traditional theater seats. All in all it was a great night. Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a garage just a quick walk away as well as metered street parking. read more

We were able to get seated at our own fire pit, dined al fresco with the red bricked backs of old Lancaster houses looking down on us; the wait staff was attentive, and warm, the food was delicious, and the drinks just magically appeared-- and then -- for dessert? Oh that's right! S'mores-- chocolate, graham crackers, and a monster marshmallow to roast over the fire. We called to politely bring up the issue and they were as nice as can be. We stopped by to pick up a fresh, delicious flatbread and they refunded us the money for that item. Every place is going to make mistakes once in a while. What matters is how they respond when they make them. Zoetropolis responded with the best customer service! They have great vegetarian and vegan options, but lots of options for carnivores too. Took a little winter escape from Harrisburg to Lancaster with plans to check out this cool spot! From walking in, met with a very eclectic / indie vibe with a colorful bar/string lights outside + fire pits. COVID precautions on point with spaced out tables. We enjoyed some delicious cocktails and had a few apps as we weren't too hungry. Popcorn on the house was a plus! Fries were excellent along with the mushrooms app / salad we got. All the other food people got around us seemed great too. IPA was also 100. One star off for service as they seemed to mix up orders for us / took a while for food to come out - something to improve on. But we are excited to come back once the shows start up again as it truly seems like a dope place to hang with a group of friends. Lots of local hype for a place that is all bluster. Stopped by during restaurant week to give the new spot a fair shake. Ultimately, left super disappointed. They weren't that busy or overly packed, which made it a bit baffling that it took like at least 20 minutes for our drinks to come out to start. Hands down, the worst Old Fashioned I've ever had, but I guess that's to be expected when it's being made with white lightning. The Rom Pom was... fine. The food also took a while to come out as well. The food was mediocre, at best. The fries were fine, but the bruschetta fries were simply topped with chopped tomato and goat cheese, not really bruschetta. Amazingly, the flatbread managed to be simultaneously burnt, soggy, and cold. By the time it got to our table, the mozzarella had already solidified, the edges were burnt to a crisp, and the sauce had rendered the center of the pie flaccid. The beef and blue sliders were boring, literally just patties with blue cheese whip on top and nothing else, like salt and pepper, let alone caramelized onions or anything else on the plate. The beer cheese fondue came with raw carrots, sliced apples, and "hempzel", which could only be described as fresh pieces of drop ceiling, both in appearance and flavor. The wings were buffalo wings, and were probably the best thing we ordered. The service, while slow, was pleasant. The servers were nice and I know the slow timing of the meal was most likely out of their control. Overall, totally lackluster. Still a cool venue for the indie film viewing, but that's the draw to go for, not the food or drink. Their policy of the non-optional "1.5% staff gratuity" is also garbage. They play it up as this generosity and benevolence of wanting to take care of their staff without raising their prices, but their prices are already average to high as is. All their portion sizes are essentially appetizers or small plates anyways. Stop passing the bill onto your customers, who already are tipping your servers, the servers who also are pooling their tips to share! Pay your back of house a proper wage instead of autogratting your customers! read more

Pretty damn remarkable. Popped in for dinner on a Friday and were instantly in love with the casual, open air dining atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive. The food exceeded expectations in every way. Savory handmade pasta with mushrooms, a vegetable dish that I cannot even describe and the most luscious trio of perfectly prepared scallops.
