So, a trip to Amish country and then a side trip to the Warther Museum was the ticket. Earnest Warther was a master carver and he carved a wide array of amazing carvings - mostly of trains. The detail in his carvings is incredible. Warther was sel-taught and he actually made some of his own knives because he could not find what he needed in the stores. His craving and craftmanship is amazing. This is a MUST-SEE attraction in the Dover/New Philadelpha area. Allow at least 2 hours (longer if you have time) to thoroughly enjoy this museum.

A hand organ played as funeral music for Franklin Roosevelt. So many items to see. All tastefully displayed throughout a currently working funeral home. The museum is free to the public but you are welcome to make a donation if you would like. Donations are forwarded to local charities. The museum began as an autograph collection but when someone included a funeral notice with the autograph, (Joe Louis), Famous Endings resulted.

The building contains Canton Ballet, Sing Stark, and ArtsinStark. You can have an entire cultural adventure in the same space. That's exactly what my experience was. I visited the center for St Nicholas Balalaika performance, and discovered that the building had this museum. I love art and so I HAD TO stop in. SPACE: The museum doors are accessible through the Cultural Center for the Arts. You can peek through large windows to get a lot at some art at the Cultural Center for the Arts. The museum has multiple rooms of art. There is plenty of room to explore. The museum also has a small souvenir shop. ADMISSION: Regular adult admission is $8. Free admission is available every Thursday and first Friday of every month. ART: The art museum has a space with gorgeous sculptures. There are also art works for sale in the foyer. Few striking pieces are available. The main exhibit space is displayed in multiple rooms. The current exhibition is Shattered Glass: The Women Who Elevated American Art (on display until March 1). To be honest, prior to the visit here I was only able to name Gloria O'Keefe as a renowned female artist. This exhibit expanded my horizons. There were so many famous and global women artists. It's a very empowering exhibit. You'll even find the renowned "Migrant Mother" photograph. The art includes digital art room. Plan for extra time to look at every piece of art and read every single story. Also, linger by the guestbook available in the galleries. There are beautiful reflections about the exhibit. Leave your own. SERVICE: I was blown away with the service here! I've been to museums in various parts of the work, and this one was the friendliest. I arrived during the last 30 minutes of their work day. The staff welcomed me with open arms. They were friendly, informative, and invited me back. It was an excellent experience. PARKING: There is a surface lot by the center. There is also a parking garage to accommodate visitors. I look forward to returning to the museum for events and exhibits. This museum is such a gem, more people should talk about it. I loved my time there - the art, the hospitality, and the new perspective about women artists.

The theme this year revolves around Children's Christmas Story Books, so they asked for a book donation in lieu of admission. Santa Claus was there taking photos with children on the porch and cookies were served at the Glass Museum next door. A ballet company was performing the Nutcracker upstairs in the ballroom. The museum staff and volunteers went above and beyond to create a magical evening.

There's also a large gift shop with lots of unique items and a cafe inside the museum, which is nice if you want to take a break during your visit.

This was around 10-10:30 pm and the police that were hired at event forced everyone to stand outside. Keep in mind it was about 6 degrees in Cleveland. I understand the event was over and they had to close but grace should've been given considering the weather. Although the event was nice maybe you shouldn't attend in the winter because they'll put you out.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully restored home of the Reeves Family and the paranormal perspective of the home. The docent was fairly new, but she was knowledgeable and interesting. She focused not just on the family and the unexplained, but also on Victorian death rituals and such. The dark, quiet ambiance really did lend itself to the charm and spooky atmosphere of the tour. The carriage house is where you start the tour and is pretty impressive in its own right. I may have found that even more spectacular than the house itself. It is really all just so lovely. Do yourself a favor and make a point of visiting this beautiful Tuscarawas County treasure.
