This is a site that everyone in the area should visit at least once. The museum is informative and has some interesting books and items from the period. It was a little depressing to be reminded of how poorly the Native Americans but hopefully it will work as a reminder of how bad the past had been and not to treat someone that may be a little different from yourself. Would probably be more effective for children. I recommend skipping the video, it is very dated and gives Ziesberger god-like abilities. Such as healing the sick with just prayer, even though the cemetery has many children and young people residing within. Cost of admission isn't too pricey, $7 for adults, $5 for children, $4 for seniors, and kids under seven are free. There is a small gift shop for trinkets and arrowheads, it is more pricey than admission but has a few educational books. There were a few outdated terms used in the exhibits and the horrible video which warranted at least one star to be removed (a historical site should always be as accurate and unbiased as possible) other than that it is a nice place to visit!

Trying to stay on our budget I prefer not to go into a museum with admission fees plus there is signage along the park that gives you info needed. We strolled around the small park, looked into windows of the Meeting House, a cabin and the cemetery. Free to enjoy outside! A step back into history and story of the 90 Indians including women & children that was massacred.

This is a must see if you visit Gnadenhutten. The cemetery surrounding the museum and historical park is the oldest cemetery in Ohio. It's beautiful and I visit each time I go to this adorable village. We called John who's name was on the door and he was able to meet us at the museum. He is a wealth of information and the nicest man ever, not to mention he is the Mayor of Gnadenhutten. We walked around the museum and I was in awe of all the arrowheads that are displayed, they all were found within 15 miles of the museum. It's not a huge museum, but take your time reading things and watching the very informative movie playing. We were there for two hours and John was able to tell me apart of history that I didn't know. It's such a sad story about the 96 Christian unarmed Native American Indians massacred by Pennsylvania Militiamen. They killed Men, women and children and then burned the whole village down. This happened on March, 8 1782. Two children were able to escape, one was scalped but survived. They were able to tell the story to Moravia Missionaries. In 1798 missionary John Heckwelder returned to the site and collected all the bones he could find. He buried them all in on grave and that mound is roped off at the historical park. I can say hearing the story from John, it was so sad I found myself tearing up. The grounds are so beautiful and today they have the church and cooper house for you go into. They have all kinds of events throughout the year, I wish that I lived closer so I could attend them. In August they have Pioneer Days, the weekend after I left was Apple Butter Days. Thanksgiving through January 1 they have a Christian Indian drive-thru display. If you visit this museum and historical park, please leave a donation. We need this part of history to be displayed and to honor those who lost their lives. So the money helps keep this place going. They also need volunteers, my daughter is going to help out on her day off coming up. Thank you John, it was one of the highlights of my trip meeting you and learning about this time in history.

The inside is equipped with appliances that were trend setters back in the early sixties. They have the first smooth top stove, and the first washer/dryer combination appliance. The huge speakers in the living room were considered the thing to have back in the early sixties! It is apparent that this family was very wealthy and had the best tools of living for that time period! Proceeds go to fund scholarships to The Ohio State University for Carrollton High School Honor students.

Although I have not personally visited yet, learning about the business and how it was created gave me a lot of appreciation for what they have built. I got the opportunity to hear from one of the owners, Braeden Conn, in my business class. He shared the story of how he and his family started the theatre and continued to expand their business over time. It was inspiring to hear about the risks they took, the ideas they pursued, and how they focused on creating memorable experiences for their guests. Braeden came across as very genuine, driven, and passionate about what he does. Hearing his story made me even more interested in visiting the theatre someday and seeing the business in action.

I visited Yoder's Amish Home in July 2025 with some friends…read more We took a guided tour of a traditional Amish home. The tour was about 1 hour and very detailed. We entered a house and were shown how the kitchen, living room, and bedrooms would have been set up. The male guide was very knowledgeable. Throughout parts of the tour though, many of us were getting hot and thirsty. The hoke we toured had no fans or air conditioning units installed just for the sake of the tour (even though I know that a traditional Amish home would not have had A/C). Complimentary water would have been a nice gesture. Nonetheless, we all powered through send finished the home tour. At the end of the tour, we were offered fresh baked goods to buy (cookies and bread). My favourite part of the tour was seeing how the kitchen looked and seeing the clothes that males and females wear. I also liked looking at a German or Pennsylvania Dutch Bible. The tour we got also included a barn tour but at the end of the home tour, everyone was hot didn't feel like entering a barn. I went to peak into the barn and saw some horses which was cool. Overall, this is a nice way to learn some history about Amish people in Ohio and in general. The price is reasonable and fair. We took our 10 and 12 year old grandchildren to this Amish Home, barn and school. We also had a…read morebuggy ride. our guide was Kate, a young Mennonite woman. The whole experience was fabulous! Kate was interesting, knowledgeable, and personable. She gave factual information and answered questions. The last room we saw (and smelled!) was the kitchen where we found a sweet Amish lady actually baking bread and cookies! For a reasonable price we enjoyed the most delicious cookies! Then, we toured the barn with and older Amish gentleman named Alvin. He showed us the farm animals and let the kids pet them. Unexpected fun included the kids helping chase 6 baby pigs that had escaped their pen! What fun! I can't recommend this whole experience enough! if you can, GO. AND to top that, it was very reasonable priced!!!
