Food is good, service was interesting, atmosphere was nice. We got the chicken gyro, trio pita dip, fried halloumi cheese, spanokopita and a side of fries. Everything was very palatable. The halloumi was definitely a favorite! We did have a mishap with the gyro - we ordered chicken but was served pork and the waitress was convinced it was chicken. Eventually it was fixed but just a heads up for folks who can't have pork. The staff were nice but definitely understaffed. Our waitress basically was running more than half if not the whole store during our visit and it was packed. It's a good place for a bite if you're craving Greek and already in the area to stop by.

zo greek is one of my favorite restaurants in the boston area because of their consistent amazing quality food, service, and vibe. i love to visit at least once a month and i'm always looking forward to it. my favorite order includes: tirokafteri, kolokythokeftedes, chargrilled octopus, chicken souvlaki, and lahanodolmades. the tirokafteri with homemade pita is so fresh and delicious, order it with chicken souvlaki (skewers) which comes with tzatziki, all of it together will put you on another planet. the chargrilled octopus are smooth and tender with the perfect balance flavor of lemon. their kolokythokeftedes with goat cheese dill aoili and lahanodolmades with the addicting avgolemono sauce are both super yummy and incredibly filling. their baklava cheesecake with fruit is an amazing ending to one of the best meals. i've never been disappointed coming here. bring your appetite! One of the best restaurants in the area!! I still think about this meal and wonder when I'll be back. The menu was very extensive and we had a hard time picking just one app. We got the dolmadakia, and it was so delicious. It was served cold and it had a very strong salty olive flavor that paired well with the rice inside. I could probably eat like 10 of these. The beef souvlaki was incredible!!! The beef is extremely juicy and tender, and the tzatziki is so creamy. This is my favorite dish on the menu. The gyro was huge, and the chicken was good. If anything, the chicken was a little dry but the sauce and tomatoes make up for it. The service is really nice and the inside has a mini Greek grocery store with a bunch of snacks. Literally cannot wait to come back!

Had to wait a little to be seated but it was no worries, as we didn't have a reservation. The interior was nice and pretty classic for a Greek spot. I was obsessed with their spicy feta and it was so good smeared on the gyro I got. They gyro was pretty big and at a fairly decent price. I loved the fries and side salad and thought it was nice you got to choose one. I would definatly come back

Great food and service! When we arrived at the business, we could already tell that it is going to be a good experience. Pretty smoky as their grilling station is right next to the seats but that also means that you can smell those scented dishes right away when you enter the venue. We started with spread sampler and proceeded with spinach pie, pork gyro, and shrimp saganaki. They were all good but our favorite was of course pork gyro with great flavors. We could taste that their ingredients were fresh overall. My friend grabbed Zo Rita (their version of margarita) and enjoyed it as well. I only gave 4 starts since the plates were bit expensive (small shrimp saganaki was $22 by itself) and were disappointed that the grill machine was broken and we could not try their famous skewers, alas, but next time!

This used to be our favorite place to come to when we were at the Assembly Row for many years. Stopped in today for a dinner for the first time in a while, excited to have our fave dishes. Unfortunately, I have no idea what was sever's issue with us, as she looked unhappy with us from the very beginning. We asked for a table for three. Entire place was maybe 20% full, but we were brought to the table tucked at the wall across from the take out counter. We asked for another table, and she huffed that we 'could have this table' on the way to the bathrooms. We chose not to stay and won't be returning here again. Hope they work with their staff on making sure their guests feel welcome.

I've been getting food from Zo Greek for years I'm surprised I haven't done a review as yet! My love for them all started with their fries. My husband ordered them for delivery one day. I didn't want anything or so I thought. I just remember when I tried their fries after being in a closed container that took 40 minutes to deliver, I was expecting soggy cold fries but no no... to my surprise, not only were they still warm! They were still crispy!! He regretted giving me any to try- I ate off half the container *blush* Whenever we're feeling for wings but want to be "healthy" we get their chargrilled wings and of course a side of the greek fries. I've also tried their grilled octopus which is a fave as well. This weekend we were showing my brother around Assembly. We were all feeling hungry and thought to take him here because he's a fan of grilled food and I don't think he's eaten at a Greek restaurant before. We ordered the Spinach dip, The Olympian and a serving of wings. The Olympian is definitely a great choice for sharing and getting to try a bit of everything. It comes with 2 spanakopitas (generous sizes) 1/2lb lamb chops (so about 2-3 chops depending on the weight) 6 kebabs (2 beef, 2 pork, 2 chicken) 6 wings Greek fries nestled below all the meats that stay crispy! Tzatziki + pita We ordered the extra serving of wings because my brother eats a lot of protein and loves wings. Even though it was good, I do think we could have done without the spinach dip since the Olympian came with spanakopita.

Was so surprised to realize I've never reviewed this place before--Zo is my go to neighborhood spot for delicious, no frills Greek food. It's a pretty casual place, they have an express takeout counter in the back alongside a full sit down menu in the restaurant/bar (which is also available on delivery apps). I've sampled both several times, and have yet to try anything I didn't throughly enjoy. Here's my all-star list: - Chargrilled Octopus (if I had to pick a favorite recommend to, she's the one) - Chargrilled wings (another must try) - Beef Kalamaki - Any of the Gyros - Avgolemono Soup - Spread sampler If you're visiting with a group, the Olympian platter is also a great choice. It has some of the best things on the menu, and it's a relatively affordable way to sample the lamb chops without committing to the full 1 lb portion. A couple of tips if you're thinking of visiting for the first time: the takeout counter is FAST. If you need a good meal in a hurry, this is the move. You barely have time to find a spot to stand and wait after placing your order before it's ready to go. On the flip side, the restaurant is relatively small. Be prepared to wait if you come at a busy time, but it's worth it. Will probably keep working my way through the menu here until I've tried it all. Perfect choice for a laid back, reliable meal!

My friend and I came here before a paint and sip night nearby. The place is medium in size with a fair amount of high table tops and seats at the bar. Hostess was quick to provide us with our menus. Between the original gyro with pork and the veggie pita with chicken, the pita definitely won in the flavor department. The various vegetables provided a satisfying burst of salty, briny and slightly sweet profile. In comparison, the gyro was tasty on its own but was drier. Overall, we had a great time. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Would come again to try more of their small plates and dips!

I've had Zo a few times now, mostly takeout. I recently dined in for the first time and can say i prefer takeout. The place is pretty tiny but very busy so feels a little tight inside. Amazing salads and spanakopita but was not impressed with their chicken gyro. While the warm pita bread was good, there was an overwhelming amount of diced tomatoes and onions at the top front of the gyro leaving the rest of gyro a bit dry. I think this place is better suited for shareables. Nevertheless, I will continue to eat from here when in the area. Overall, it satisfies my Greek food cravings!

My husband and I have come here twice now, and it's a great local spot for us where we feel like the food is clean, flavorful, and light. Ambiance is casual, service is friendly. Our favorites have been the wings, spicy feta, shrimp skewer, chicken kabobs, Greek fries, and patates limonates. We tend to do these items to share but the gyro looks really good so will have to do that at some point. We recently tried the fig and goat cheese dip and though this was yummy, after a while it's sweet so you have to be in the mood for a sweet and filling appetizer. Definitely would continue to come back!

There aren't a lot of good Greek places north of Boston where you can get a fresh Gyro. At $14, with a side, it's a good deal. Lots of meat, very fresh & tasty. It's on the outskirts of Assembly Row, but worth a stop if you're craving something a bit different. Grab it to go, or sit at one of their hight tops. read more

Ordering delivery from here is TERRIBLE!! The quality is not worth the price. My Mediterranean salad came without the chicken I ordered. The octopus, what a joke for $15, complete rip off. The lemon rice soup another joke. This is the first and last time ordering, despite all the great reviews. The rest of our order isn't worth reviewing. $70 plus tip and still hungry. read more

I was dining here with my friend on Sunday oct 6th. Food was amazing. My friend and i were splitting the bill in half. But i got double charged while she didn't get charged at all. I didn't want to post on here but when I called the store phone number, no one picked up during their business hour. It's disappointing that a restaurant as good as Zo wouldn't have any trained wait staff!! I got there at 7 pm and was immediately seated and waited 20 minutes before someone came over. When we got our starter, there was no ask as to whether we would be ordering a meal. We waited another 30 min and just decided to get more pita bread. In total, we were there an hour and 40 minutes and we spent 25$. There were plenty of people walking around but no one seemed to care we were there. So disappointed :( read more

Great Greek Resturant! Tremendous range! You can enjoy a Gyro that is delicious and similar to a sandwich or a wrap or you can munch on savory octopus! I have never had a bad meal there! Somerville location has a great wine selection! Friendly staff always accommodating; cool bartenders always creating new drinks. Cool feel to the place, they also offer outdoor seating! read more

The gyro was packed with meat but some of the meat had a bone like consistency. The vegetables were fresh and as a whole it was delicious Too much to eat in one sitting. The sides we separate, we had rice (16oz) and the side salad There wasn't enough dressing and another small dressing would cost $1.00 which was excessive for maybe less than 1 oz We had the meal to go $28 is pricy for a Gyros meal but I guess one would have to consider the location. The outside dining was clean The gyro was delicious and a big hit but not a fan of the rice alone. The salad was fresh but I didn't like the dressing so it's a good thing we didn't purchase any additional dressing. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at this location in Somerville. The staff was very helpful with menu questions and the food was ready to go in only a few minutes. I had the chicken gyro, the seasoning was exactly what I would expect from a Greek place. The only flaw in my meal was the meat was too dry for my liking. I would recommend trying it with everything on it even if you're not a fan of onion or tomato. They really add what is missing in the gyro. The only other downside i would say to this place is the food menu is a bit lacking. Overall, I would come back to this location if I'm in the area but it would not be my first choice. read more

We were new in town and looked up some spots on Yelp. Our local foodie guide didn't even know about this spot, and she loved it! I took very long to decide what to get. I'm glad I ordered Rice bowl with chicken, the picture looks much better than what I expected. We had the Tzatziki and pita bread appetizer. I also got to try the Mediterranean salad with chicken. Wow, truly, what an incredible experience. My partner and I are very picky and honestly don't like much about the Boston food scene. Zo is wonderful. We ordered a few mezze plates, and the large kebab and lamb platter (the Olympian, I believe) to share. The shishito peppers were incredibly delicious, and everything tasted fresh, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. They were very kind and didn't try push us out even though they were closing. Fast and flavorful. I got a pork gyro. The pork was a bit over cooked but the taziki sauce, tomatoes, and herbs helped and the pita was great. Went to the fast casual side sure about the eat in side. Glad they give you the option of both. read more

AMAZING food, every single time. I absolutely love coming here - it's cozy, but I've never had trouble getting a table, and the serving sizes are very generous. The servers are always incredibly nice and welcoming, and kindly did not comment on my horrible pronunciation of gyro :) this is a great spot to bring guests to try a sampler of spreads or split a gyro (or eat the entire thing yourself - hard to resist!!) read more

A surprising delicious find! My friends and I came on a random weekday night for dinner and between the 3 of us - shared the Olympian platter and were happily stuffed! The platter came with a mixture of lamb chops, chicken wings, kebabs, sausages, fries, Spanakopita, pita, and a cheesy spread! Everything was beautifully, artfully marinated and quality was top notch. My fave was definitely the lamb chops, and the next time I'm back I know I'm gonna go straight for the gold and only order the chops! The only thing I would've been happy to forgo would be the sausages. They simply paled in comparison to the other delicious meats! Drop by for a tasty, meaty meal! read more

I ordered "to go". The food was generally good but the packaging was poor. I ordered the chicken skewers which included pita and tzatziki. By the time the ordered arrived home (only about 10 minutes or so), there was a lot of condensation in the plastic container so the bottom two slices of pita were completely drenched -- think of a water logged Bounty paper towel. Luckily I ordered extra pita which came in separate packaging (wax paper). They should just wrap all of the pita separately to avoid this obvious problem. I also ordered two soups which were just placed on the top of the food and not secured in any way (like having a piece of masking tape across the top). The soups could have very easily tipped over. The food is not cheap (nearly $20 for chicken skewers) so some care would be appreciated...to go orders should not be an afterthought. (One of my pieces of chicken was also bad -- ever bite into a piece of chicken and you just know it isn't right?) read more

Greek food is absolutely fascinating and each of the greek restaurants here has its own unique approach to it. Zo Greek is one of them and I was impressed to see their elaborate Meze section where each of the options sounded authentic and intricate. I settled for a much safer Mozzarella Tomato Basil Pita and was quite happy with it. The Mozzarella tasted great and the fresh basil leaves added a slight crunch and lots of freshness. The size of it was just perfect too as I was full by the time I finished it. I think it's the freshness of every dish that makes Greek food so good! read more

I like this place. I've been to the downtown restaurant but it always closed so early! This location in the trendy assembly row area is unpretentious, good quality Greek gyros. I always opt for the original and it never disappoints. The meat is tasty although their pita bread isn't as fresh as "pita" in Chelmsford. Their spanakopita is delicious with the right blend of cheese, spinach and flaky filo pastry, but, they always seem to run out quickly, I guess it's always fresh! Have to look on the upside. I'm a regular customer and have never been disappointed with any aspect of this restaurant. Keep up the good work! read more

Authentic and quaint restaurant nestled in Assembly Row. It is located on the newer side over near Fit Row. I got the chicken gyro and it was delish! I was missing feta and fries, some places do that and I love it. The portions were big and so was the flavor. It's a great spot for lunch and would definitely go again! read more

YUM! I really didn't expect to like this place. The lines for Sunday brunch in Assembly Row were long, so we decided to just pop into Zo to eat. We got the pork gyro plate, chicken gyro, and a kale salad. The portions were generous. The pita was so soft, hot and delicious. The gyro plate came with crunchy potato wedges. My boyfriend loved them! The kale salad wasn't a normal boring salad. I loved the thinly sliced fennel, roasted sweet potatoes, and apple. It had a good balance of crunch and flavor. The waiter was really attentive and nice. I want to come back to try the zucchini fritters! read more

Awesome! I didn't know there's a bar area on the side. I got a chicken gyro and lentil soup. The pita was amazingly soft. Love it. Can't say enough. Just try for yourself. I will be coming back to try some other stuff on the menu. read more

Had a great experience at Zo. The place is very nice with beautiful windows (like the rest of assembly). Gf ordered a margarita that was surprisingly good. The chicken and pork gyros were both good, but the chicken was definitely the best. Super moist and flavorful. The price was extremely reasonable with portions big enough that neither of us could finish. Also our waitress was very sweet and attentive. read more

You wouldn't think those flavors would work together but they really do. The Mantwo also paired very nicely with the Aushak, with more of an earthy taste to it. The lamb kebab was also very tasty, though it wasn't anything super unique. The free bread for the table was also a surprising highlight, as we got to try various different dipping sauces (which we then also used to supplement the kebab). Service was attentive, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and overall really enjoyed our dinner here.

Zo Greek at Assembly Row is a true gem! This is one of our favorite spots to visit. Our recent visit was an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They also offer a small but intimate outdoor patio. We started with the Tirokafteri, which had the perfect balance of creamy and spicy - a fantastic way to kick off the meal. We also had the Kolokythokeftedes (zucchini fritters) which were a pleasant surprise. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a refreshing and flavorful dip on the side. For our mains, we tried both the steak and chicken Kalamaki (skewers). The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and seasoned just right, while the chicken was tender and flavorful. As for the tzatziki, we can't get enough of it! The chicken gyro was also a hit - juicy, well-seasoned, and wrapped in the softest pita accompanied by the best fries. Every dish is prepared with care and the ingredients are always fresh and high-quality. On top of the delicious food, the service is fast and attentive. The staff made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing, adding to the overall excellent dining experience. I am giving 1 star only for the fries. Came and ordered 4 gyros with fries in the gyros and 2 spinach pies, worst gyro ever. Have been there before but not worth your time and money. The gyro meat in all 4 were more like crumbles from the cut up meat and very dry. The one that was plain, I choked on because of the dry, crumbled shavings not meat. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY The order was incorrect and very dry, if we sat there it would be returned but not worth my time to go back and return VERY DISAPPOINTED read more
