Late at night the night BEFORE the wedding she tried to change the time to hours earlier. I could not change at that point as everything had already been scheduled: photographer, bouquet delivery, etc. Who tries to reschedule at 10pm the night before a wedding?! She continued badgering me past 11pm when I was trying to get sleep for wedding day. The next late morning, day of my wedding, she revealed she was not coming at all. I found out about her cancelation 4 hours before I was to be ready. I was left in anguish having to scramble to find a solution. Because of Daurisa, I was late to my ceremony by 45 minutes, and had to have my ceremony cut way short. Because of Daurisa, the excitement of getting married turned into stress and feelings of despair trying to find who could do my hair and makeup last minute. Because of Daurisa, I could not have photography of getting my hair and makeup done. And to top it all off, there was never an apology. She tried to blame me because I couldn't reschedule everyone around HER convenience. Weddings are a once in a lifetime event, and what she did and failed to do was not only unprofessional, it was mean spirited. I truly hope this will not happen to another bride. I went to Renew Salon to go blonde again, like the owner Jeanine had done previously. I explained I…read morewanted the same beautiful blonde. Natalie assured me Courtney could do it that day. This time, the process felt unprofessional. The salon was empty except for us three. After Courtney applied the foils, both stepped away and when they returned, I noticed a strong, skunk-like smell. With foils already in my hair, Courtney asked again what shade I wanted, even though I'd been clear from the start. I also had made it known that I have not had any dye or bleach since my last visit there. She called to the other stylist in the back for a 'shade book' which never appeared. Later, as she rinsed the bleach, she suddenly asked if I had color in my hair, noting it was coming out darker in some spots. This made me worry. When I raised concerns, they dismissed them. You can be the judge because I uploaded before and after photos. Once dried, my hair ended up a uniform brown rather than the blonde I requested. It looked like something I could have done at home with a box dye and the texture felt weird once I washed it at home. I had chosen a professional because bleaching is risky and I was finally ready to invest in maintaining blonde. The assistant called someone, perhaps the owner, seemingly unable to handle the situation themselves. No action no apology to fix the issue; instead, it was blamed on my hair being 'grayer' than last visit. Even if true, a professional should assess it accurately. More color was suggested, but I know color cannot lift color. With the chemicals already in my hair, I didn't want further damage especially immediately after this. I don't have a big, beautiful mane, I was just trying to maintain what little I have safely, paid full price and left frustrated. I enjoy leaving positive reviews, but I can't this time. That's why I took a "before" photo because I truly expected great results again. Three weeks later, I noticed my photos are no longer visible in the gallery. Because of that, I may need to share them elsewhere. I hope the information helps others.
