    Least famous shakes
    Farah S.

We decided to stop in for something to eat. We walked up to the counter, and there were a couple of people standing around and we decided on our order and then proceeded to attempt to order only to be told we aren't taking orders right now, our staff left for the parade. We thought that was very nice to pause for a moment to let your staff go and enjoy a fun activity that was right outside of the restaurant. They were back within a few minutes and they began taking orders. We didn't mind the short wait and we appreciated that the owners knew it was important to give their staff a little break. They have restrooms available for patrons, that are clean and tidy. Parking is in the back and along the street to the north, but nothing is available in the front so be aware of that. Handicap parking is in the back. They have a typical shake shack style menu and a few fun things, including Dole whip, the Disneyland style. They have a classic Bear Lake raspberry shake. You can get fish, burgers, chicken, and even corn dogs. Entrée items are sold separate from things like fries, tater tots, and onion rings. They also have sweet potato fries. We decided to each order a different side so that we could all try each other's. The fries, sweet potato fries and the onion rings are fantastic. Those are what we ordered. You can sit inside of a boat, at a traditional table with chairs, on a bench with a fun wooden hand, carved table, underneath a umbrella and a round table. There are pretty much plenty of options for receiving. They have what they call a sauce bar, which is a collection of different types of sauces for your sides. It's fun to choose a few different ones and taste them all with your sides. We had the Bear Lake Muenster burger, the cheeseburger, a corn dog, and the honey chipotle chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich and the corndog were great. The Muenster burger was pretty good, but the cheeseburger was nothing to write home about - it was undercooked and they used American cheese instead of cheddar cheese, which isn't my favorite and made it a lot more bland. It had hardly any sauce on it And there was only one tomato on. It was a very large sandwich but not a lot of flavor. The buns they use are fantastic but know that they are a softer bun so if you don't like a soft bun you may not like their sandwich, so just get it without a bun and eat it with a fork and knife Items can be made gluten-free, it didn't appear they had anything in term of vegan options other than the sides, but I'm sure they would make something custom. When they took our order, they were extremely friendly and they were very fast when it came to our food getting to us. There is a place to play games in the back that includes cornhole, a giant connect 4 game, and just enjoying the music. The music wasn't something we could hear very well, but it would've been fun to hear it because it seemed to be a good mix. Unfortunately, mostly what we heard the entire time we were there were orders being called over a loudspeaker. So if you don't want to hear the loudspeaker don't sit under the covered area. Overall, this is a fun new, hip beach joint. Great for lunch or stopping after a day on the lake.

Service wasn't slow or fast cuz they making it to order so to the car(s) that were beeping at us, "honk if you're horny" lol The place is always packed and when I eat there I know why Also idgaf if this convince you to try em out or not just do it if you want and don't do it if you don't Ambiance is lake town (maybe Laketown) america with all the fixings K bye

Zipz isn't it for me. Long lines, slow service, and overpriced food and shakes. Compared to other shakes in the area, this one tasted very artificial. It wasn't terrible but definitely a let down to the neighboring competition. We waited in line for 20+ minutes and then waited another 20+ for our single shake to be ready. And it didn't really feel like it was worth it. ZIpz might not be my cup of tea, but there's a chance it's yours. So give it a try the next time you're in town!

We passed the long line at Zips a few times wondering what we were missing, and finally decided to try it. The restaurant has a good layout with lots of seating and yard games, and they call your order over an intercom so you can hear in the crowd. They have good fry sauce but the rest of the food is very mediocre. Our fries were barely salted, and salt isn't offered among the sizable seasoning & sauce bar! I tried the coconut shrimp basket which was fine- it and our fries came out pretty fast, our shakes a couple minutes later... and our burgers were ready almost 15 minutes after the fries! They were decent large burgers but the timing made for an awkward meal. The shakes definitely are 'least famous'- ie don't even bother, go to another spot for a better one! Stopped by Zipz while spending a week at Bear Lake and for classic fast food fare, it was great. We tried a bit of everything from fries, onion rings, tatter tots, basic cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp. My 13 yo son ordered the cheeseburger. "I had a very big juicy burger that tasted very good and had a good amount of bacon. I also love their fries and tater tots they were cooked to perfection and tasted very delicious and crunchy." 4.5/5 My 16 yo daughter ordered the chicken fingers that came with 5 large fingers, she only ate 3 of them. "I got the chicken fingers and they were wonderful. It came with many fingers, all breaded deliciously and the ranch they had to dip in had a very cool and complimentary taste." 4.5/5 I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich and while the flavor was really good with a little sweet and spicy, not hot, and really good, it was a little messy. I would order it again. 4/5 My wife ordered the coconut shrimp and they were some of the best I've ever had, yes I stole a couple. Dipping sauce was excellent. 5/5 Pineapple Dole whip was cold and refreshing and tasted great. 5/5 Fries tots and onion rings were all good, but I thought the onion rings lacked a little flavor. 4/5 The dipping sauces at the outside bar were fun and plentiful. We'll be back.

A few years later and we still love Zipz! You can't go wrong with ordering their cheeseburger and a side of fries. They are both cooked to perfection. My husband usually loves their banana cream pie shake, but they made it differently this time and he was left disappointed. My daughter was really looking forward to the fried Oreos, but it looks like they removed those from the menu. They also ran out of their famous Zipz sauce (it was 11:00am when we went). We were bummed, but we'll be back next year :) P.S. If you like muddy buddies, get the shake! It's delicious!

Bear Lake Muenster burger with raspberry jalapeño jam, Muenster cheese, and Boursin cream was a surprise and the goat of the day. Service was fast and food was better than expected for a tourist destination

This place was packed everyday we were there!! Don't worry though, the line moves pretty quick and they get your food out fast. I was really impressed how fast we got through the line. The food was great and so were their shakes. I like the sauce bar. They have everything for you. Fun area to eat.

So 5 start! Sweetest humans working there. We were there on July 4th and the service was so fast... to be honest, I don't really love ice cream but I was told I cannot be in Garden City and not have a raspberry shake. I LOVED IT! It was so refreshing, & of course I got cheesecake in mine because why not! If you are at bear lake you need to stop by!! Such a cute place! I think from now on this is the only ice cream I'll eat, it's so yummy!!

Opening a business, especially in a small town with unpredictable customer flow is no easy feat and I truly applaud them for bringing a high-class feel to Garden City. My favorite side was the Street Corn. It's about as close to authentic elotes as I've found in Utah (iykyk) and I devoured it. The potato salad and macaroni salad were pretty average but the cookies were a standout. I tried the snickerdoodle and the chocolate cookie topped with vanilla icing and raspberry purée. These were easily my favorite cookies I've had in a long time. Their lemonade varieties are fresh and flavorful. I had the peach with coconut and sipped it happily all day. My family members who ordered meat said it was absolutely delicious. We sat on the beautifully decorated patio with incredibly comfortable chair. It honestly felt like lounging at a very welcoming and wealthy relative's home. I loved it! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot! Just be sure to arrive earlier in the day, as they do sell out (a great problem for them to have).

I heard them mention that it's their 2nd season so I'm sure they'll only get better as they get into the swing of things. I found it a little strange that they'd have such a large seating area and then only one stall for the bathroom. With it being BBQ and ribs, many people were looking to wash their hands. Towelettes, a sink out back or even paper towels available outside would have helped greatly. I saw people going in for the little napkins at the counter then pouring water from the pitchers into them to be able to wash their hands. The meat eaters among my party seemed to really enjoy their plates. However, as a vegetarian I found this place wanting. I enjoyed the corn and coleslaw but would have liked it there was a menu item for vegetarians beyond the kid's grilled cheese. Maybe a plate of vegetarian sides or fully loaded grilled cheese with pickles, sauerkraut, tomato et cetera. The cornbread was just okay.

They have the old school mixer (the kind you see on re-runs of Petticoat Junction) and I am of the understanding the use real razberries which is an upgrade from the similar shake found at McDonalds. High - clean. Place is a little off but so is the entire town. I noticied one poster commented how the bathroom had no toilet paper. I did not inspect that situation. Low - Took 43 minutes to get the frickin' burger. The burger itself was plain, somewhat tasteless, and generally underwhelming. Burger is a two star situation. Fries were as expected from a town that basically goes out of business after Labor Day weekend. Gift shop analysis - I have no comment. Not the same stuff you find on Amazon though. Pro Tip - use the drive through. The staff is kids, nice and all but just not the brightest group, especially when some tour bus rolls in and the cashier forgot to send a bunch of tickets back to the line cook. That is when problems start. Summary - Eat here in a pinch. Stop in for the shake and cut your losses on the food.
