They have a variety of sauces available that you can help yourself too. We decided to stop in for something to eat. We walked up to the counter, and there were a couple of people standing around and we decided on our order and then proceeded to attempt to order only to be told we aren't taking orders right now, our staff left for the parade. We thought that was very nice to pause for a moment to let your staff go and enjoy a fun activity that was right outside of the restaurant. They were back within a few minutes and they began taking orders. We didn't mind the short wait and we appreciated that the owners knew it was important to give their staff a little break. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have restrooms available for patrons, that are clean and tidy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is in the back and along the street to the north, but nothing is available in the front so be aware of that. Handicap parking is in the back. They have a typical shake shack style menu and a few fun things, including Dole whip, the Disneyland style. They have a classic Bear Lake raspberry shake. You can get fish, burgers, chicken, and even corn dogs. Entrée items are sold separate from things like fries, tater tots, and onion rings. They also have sweet potato fries. We decided to each order a different side so that we could all try each other's. The fries, sweet potato fries and the onion rings are fantastic. Those are what we ordered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can sit inside of a boat, at a traditional table with chairs, on a bench with a fun wooden hand, carved table, underneath a umbrella and a round table. There are pretty much plenty of options for receiving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have what they call a sauce bar, which is a collection of different types of sauces for your sides. It's fun to choose a few different ones and taste them all with your sides. We had the Bear Lake Muenster burger, the cheeseburger, a corn dog, and the honey chipotle chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich and the corndog were great. The Muenster burger was pretty good, but the cheeseburger was nothing to write home about - it was undercooked and they used American cheese instead of cheddar cheese, which isn't my favorite and made it a lot more bland. It had hardly any sauce on it And there was only one tomato on. It was a very large sandwich but not a lot of flavor. The buns they use are fantastic but know that they are a softer bun so if you don't like a soft bun you may not like their sandwich, so just get it without a bun and eat it with a fork and knife Items can be made gluten-free, it didn't appear they had anything in term of vegan options other than the sides, but I'm sure they would make something custom. When they took our order, they were extremely friendly and they were very fast when it came to our food getting to us. A Bear Lake staple. We never come to the lake without visiting Zipz. My husband may like the Pineapple/Raspberry Dole Whip more than me. The portions are pretty large, we had plenty of leftovers. Everything comes out hot because they are cranking food out non stop. I have mixed feelings about this place. Short answer: it's OVER hyped. It definitely deserves some hype... they do a lot of things right. But there are glaring areas for improvement. What they do right: Raspberry shake Fries Sauce options Chicken What needs desperate attention: The sloppy factor for their burgers/sandwiches. The price vs. value We got the double cheeseburger with pastrami. The flavor was way too salty and holy shit was it soggy. I picked it up and took the first bite and the layers immediately slid out the back with tons of juice just oozing out. I couldn't put it down let alone pick it up again for a second bite without it just gushing sauce and grease and tomato. Luckily I have little kids so I had wet wipes handy. No amount of napkins would have kept that mess at bay. My husband got the sticky chicken sandwich. And that one was quite delicious with perfect flavor (it's basically wingers sticky finger sauce. So if that's what you anticipate when you order it, you'll be very happy.) but again, upon the first bite it was literally just juices everywhere. I am not exaggerating by saying that the bottom of the little carstock boat they serve it in was totally covered in juice only 2 bites in. It was a ticking time bomb before the buns, which were actually very tasty and a great texture and structure, were just... soggy. Finally the price. We got the burger, the sandwich, and 3 kids meals, and one large shake. $65. The entrees to me feel for like they are worth 7-10 bucks... not 10-15. The kids meals were $7. Should have been like $4.99. Also their board menu prices did not match their QR code online menu. That's annoying and sloppy to me. All in all, this was a great place, but not one I would prioritize while in the area from out of town. I'd be happy to try somewhere new next time. I don't have any loyalty to them for a burger and fries. That isn't a hard menu to get absolutely perfect. It wasn't terrible but definitely a let down to the neighboring competition. We waited in line for 20+ minutes and then waited another 20+ for our single shake to be ready. We passed the long line at Zips a few times wondering what we were missing, and finally decided to try it. The restaurant has a good layout with lots of seating and yard games, and they call your order over an intercom so you can hear in the crowd. They have good fry sauce but the rest of the food is very mediocre. Our fries were barely salted, and salt isn't offered among the sizable seasoning & sauce bar! I tried the coconut shrimp basket which was fine- it and our fries came out pretty fast, our shakes a couple minutes later... and our burgers were ready almost 15 minutes after the fries! After waiting two hours in the drive through the last weekend they were open for the season, our entire SUV filled with people were more than happy that we waited once we got our food. The Bear Lake Muenster burger is incredible. Pure genius, flavor explosion that embodies the essence of Bear Lake. The Philly Cheesesteak was the best any of us has ever had, we got an extra one that they through in for us and we were all passing it around enjoying every last bite. The fries are delicious, the sweet potatoe fries are also delicious. The fried ravioli was a huge hit, and had us thinking about it for the next few days. The best addition to Garden City's food scene by far! I remembered when this location was a rundown old house. The original structure was built in 1925 and finally in 2014, Zipz was born--and we're so glad it was! I love that they own the fact that they're not the oldest shake in town, hence the "Least Famous Shake" motto. But that's okay because their shakes are great and the quality of food amazes me. Bear Lake has needed a joint like this and they finally have one. Burgers, fries, fish n' chips, chicken sandwiches, hand dipped corn dogs and more! Their fries are battered (can come GF) and make the absolute perfect crispy compliment to my ice cream. The shakes were on the milkier side, but still tasty. I wished my raspberry shake was a little stronger on the raspberry, but I really liked their cookie dough chocolate chip shake, because the chips were pulverized flecks. Very delightful! Stopped here en route to SLC. A Friday in August at about 1:30pm. Waited about 15min to order and 15 to get our food. My husband ordered a Cheeseburger and added pastrami and I got the Muenster burger. We both got gluten free buns and tots. They do have specifically GF hand cut fries for those with an allergy.
