This location is slipping. Most employees are friendly enough, but some are almost borderline surly now. The sauce cups are getting less and less full all the time. I understand managing costs, but this is just getting annoying. Quality of food seems to be slipping as well. Zips has been a staple in the Inland Northwest for years. Regardless of the slow drive-thru times and sloppy burgers, they're still around. After living in this area for 38 years, tonight's visit to Zips will be my last. My wife and I went through the drive through and ordered two large-sized grilled chicken meals. The total came to $23+, and though I was stupid enough to pay before questioning the high cost, I brought it up to the second window attendant. The receipt made no sense, and I asked him to explain how it could be so much. His explanation made no sense, and the total should've been like $19 plus tax, but it ended up being $23. Ok, so we're talking a few bucks. But mixed with the incredibly Zips trademarked slow wait time (10m just at the second window), the fact that the food looked sloppy, and the "large" fries we paid for ended up being a regular sized fries, $23 is ridiculous. The food is usually always good. My complaint is the kids working the drive thru not listening. Every week or so I come through for a couple of 3 piece chicken and fries. Zip's is a regular request from my 4 year old son when we go out to eat, but he knows it as "Zippy-doo-da's" :) I like Zip's. I wasn't familiar with the restaurant until I moved to Spokane early last year. I have tried several different burgers here and have enjoyed them all. It's a fantastic place to eat if you want to fill yourself up for a decent price. I am a huge fan of the fact that they have pumps full of tartar and fry sauce at the counter.
