We ordered two meals and when our name was called, they gave it to another person (it was just my husband and I and this one other customer who had walked in 3 minutes prior). The other guy grabbed our bag and pulled everything out, touching the fries then took it back to the front when he realized it wasn't his. They immediately brought us the same bag and we asked that they make the fries again because we watched the other customer blow his nose then touch our food. We're pretty sure they did not remake the food and just brought out the same fries. They did not give us the burger we ordered and when my husband asked for it, they questioned him about actually ordering it. We both finished our fries and decided it was not worth the wait (15-20 minutes later). We got up and told them that it's fine and we're just going to go. The burger was sitting at the register and who knows how long it was there. read more

Got into town late and was a little bit hungry, friend told me we were going to stop at Zips, which has been in the area for 53 years! Zips is a diner/fast food joint with a drive up window, I liked it . And they have plenty to offer on the menu. After checking out the menu I went with a cheeseburger, side of fried mushrooms and a root beer, I know livin large with the soda and all! I have to say the burger was great, everything was fresh and great tasting, but the fried mushrooms, man they were freaking great! They were fresh mushrooms dipped in batter and fried to sweet heaven, before I knew it they were gone. Glad to have had the chance to stop at Zips and give the local place a try! read more

Zips is the iconic symbol of fast food for any college student at Eastern during their college career. There is something about Cheney Zips that is better than any other Spokane Zips, and it's something you don't understand until you've been here. The great part about Zips is that it's open 24 hours. So whether you want breakfast (which is delicious), lunch, dinner, or food to satisfy your drunken munchies between 2am and 4am (seriously, starting at 2am when all the bars close, it gets packed), Zips is always there. For the most part, the staff is nice and the service is fast. It's only once in a while where you'll either have disappointing service or food. But for as many times as I have been there that hasn't happened much. I think that Zips is my favorite local fast food restaurant. I don't typically eat fast food, but if I do its Zips. The majority of their burgers are between $4 and $6, but are delicious. I always order the Superdeluxe with cheese and onions - best deal on the menu for less than $3! You also can't pass up the Zips fry sauce for your fries, or sometimes even your burger. Their hurricanes are very comparable to Dairy Queen Blizzards, but hurricanes are better in my opinion. Zips gives more of the flavoring and actually mixes it all the way through the ice cream. When you're a college student at EWU, Zips is just a part of your lifestyle. Students understand. read more

Sweeeeet baby jesus. All ya'll need to shut up about your critics and listen up. You want some sweet succulent burgers at 2300 on a Wednesday? Go to Zips. You want a nice Hurricane because your craving ice cream and everything on EWU campus is closed? Go to Zips. Are you hungry for some Chicken Fried Steak at 0400 when they start serving breakfast? You know where the hell to go fool! As a broke collee student attending Eastern, this was my staple aside from dorm-cooked meals here and there and going on Campus to eat (At reasonable hours), but maaan! Zips is the real MVP when you want to satisfy your needs at an ungodly hour. I would also like to add that their breakfast at 0400 is DA BOMB. I mean when you're pulling an all nighter on a weekend whether it be gaming or studying (or in my case, both) and you've run out of energy from the last meal you ate hours ago, this is the place to do it. Customer service is great (Although night shift can vary- remember, this is a shitty shift and the pay isn't great either, so cut them some slack) and the time to service is quite remarkable. Quality of the food, especially the CFS, is better than the competition (Like Denny's or Shari's), and my god, their ice cream is "To die for". That's all I gotta say about my beloved Zips, till next time! read more

This place can be kind of expensive if you want to try a lot of different food... But you really just wanna pig out on a bunch burgers, it's perfect. If you order ahead of time and use the code ZIPS you get 15% off your order. I tend to order a bag of cheeseburgers (5) for 8 bucks, or a bag of double cheeseburgers (5) for 12 bucks. Whenever you order a bag of anything you can add a large drink container of fries for 2 bucks and/or 2 medium drinks for 2 bucks. This is much cheaper than ordering burger by burger, item by item. Their papa joes (which come in a bag of 5 for 10 bucks) are also pretty tasty, they're single patty cheese burgers with a slice of ham, pickles and lettuce; their regular single and double burgers don't with lettuce so sometimes this is a nice change. Overall this is a great place to pig out, especially late night. read more

I went thought the drive through and didn't hear anything so i just said hello and good evening and nothing so i said hello again. a man was able to answer and said sorry i will be with you in just one moment. then a women responded and said the kitchen is closed we will not be able to serve you today. my friend said aren't you guys open 24 hours? and she said we will not be serving you tonight. i asked why and she said we will not be serving you tonight. me and my friends were confused and ended up leaving. the customer service is horrible. i really enjoyed going to zips and because of this couldn't get food. i would like an explanation please. this really ruined me and my friends night. let me inform you this was only at 7pm. read more

UPDATE: Ate here for breakfast today . . . It was pretty good. I found that for the price I paid . . . $11 and change, it was definitely worth it. I got a BIG omelet . . . That came with a big side of hash browns as well as a side of toast. The omelet was really good and so were the hash browns and toast. I love their strawberry jelly. Veryyyy good. Their hash browns were super good too. Especially because I didn't need to put salt on it like a lot of places. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love Zips! I'm from Hawai'i and we don't have a Zips there. But since I started eating here . . . In . . . 2007? I've LOVED IT! I honestly don't know what it is that I like so much about this place, but I love, love, love it. My sister got me started on plain chicken sandwiches with cheddar cheese. YUM! Simple but wayyyyy good eats! I love their tub of fries too. Hahaha. Sooo good. I'm not usually a fan of crinkly fries, but theres are really crispy. :) I just ate there today and I tried their barbecue sauce for the first time . . . It's kind of weird 'cause it looks really watery, but it's REALLY good! Their cheeseburgers are killahs too. Hahaha. I had a hard time debating which of the two I wanted to get! Definitely recommend this place. :) read more

Their food is always amazing !! Grew up on zips and I love going there, it's absolutely timeless. Best ice cream ever!!

Zip's is a great little place. The restaurant has a unique character (in a good way), and the food is different from your typical fast food. My favorite things: The "tubs" of fried mushrooms are plentiful and a great deal at $5. Hurricane or shake of the week for only $1, and this is a good sized dessert. Ordering online before you come gets you 15% off. The best part: MS. PACMAN FOR ONE QUARTER! It does not get better than this! read more

Loved there popcorn shrimp fast service was happy when I left . Loved there French fries .

Unbelievably slow drive-thru service. Expect to wait up to 10 minutes when at the speaker to have someone take your order. Then another long wait to pay and get your food. Last time there I was in line with six other cars, the same car was parked at the pickup window for 15 minutes and it was obvious nothing was happening. At that point, simultaneously, three of us just bailed and drove away - no lunch that day. This is not a one-off experience, it is always slow, even when there is no line at all. I've eaten at a lot of different Zip's locations, this one seems to close to the bottom in terms of food quality. Hope the owner of this franchise tries to improve things a bit. read more

We ate here for breakfast after waiting 23 minutes at Willow with not even coffee. A few people in our party had the special, wihch was biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a bit starchy and not all that flavorful, just salty... but it was edible and a great value at $3.95, 4 biscuit halves and at least a cup of gravy. Would've been better with some over easy eggs on top! I also had the hashbrown and juice. The juice is plastic bottled. The combo of hashbrown and juice was $2 and seemed like a good deal to add to the special. I don't remember what anyone else had but we were all happy with our food and someone even subbed in fries with tartar to their meal. Zip's was a quiet place to catch up and have an informal breakfast. The whole bill was something like $23, after my dad redeemed a senior discount that he didn't have to ask for. I love Cheney and Zip's saved the day for breakfast. Thank God for the Fish Lake trail to work off some of those calories. read more

People get shot here...in the butt. Great food though! Fry sauce, tater sauce, really any sauce goes great on about anything. Eagle burger is a must. read more

OK burgers. Overpriced in my humble opinion. Much better burgers at Carls down the road. Local hang out in the late hours for partiers after bars close and local teens who have nothing to do. What I like best: the tub off fries. Have not tried breakfast. read more

No one had said a word when we pulled up to the window so we said "hello?" And still no one said a word so again we said "hello?" And then a male voice said "one moment we'll be right with you" and then a lady says "sorry our kitchen just closed we won't be serving you tonight" and I asked "aren't you guys open 24 hours" and she said "we won't be serving you tonight" with no explanation we were confused and she lied and refused to serve after not acknowledging us in intercom. Very rude lady. Never will go back to this Zips. read more

Oh Zips how i miss you! I have to note that I would only go here after I was already a little, okay a lot, tipsy in the club since it's open 24 hours. After a hard college night out who doesnt want a Little Zipper Fun Meal? Cheeseburger, fries, secrete sauce... YUM. My only complaint is my heart burn the next morning. We don't have Zips in Seattle which is a shame, although I dont miss the heartburn. read more

I'd rate this place five stars if it wasn't so damn expensive. Paying over three bucks for a SUPER dinky milkshake isn't my jam. The best stuff on their menu has to be the hurricanes, though! They even have the Girl Scout Cookies ones when that special time of year comes! They have delicious ranch dressing, too...so good on the fries 'n tots! read more

Reducing my rating from 5 to 4 stars, the quality is slipping. Today the Papa Joe was smashed flat and the tater tots were squishy and mashed up. If this keeps happening i will have to say goodbye to one of my favorite childhood fast food chains... read more

I speak very highly of this establishment and it ~breaks~ my heart when they forget the fry sauce.

Cook stuck his hands down his pants and then made my chicken sandwich! Manager remade it and it wasn't complete, she honestly tried and was very nice. Was refunded and given another meal that was correct. No standards in the kitchen what so ever, I watched the sandwich be made after he adjusted himself and didn't change his gloves. Classy place! read more

I love reading these reviews! I feel the same way, I occasionally eat at zips for the convenience (near my office)and nearly every time I leave I'm disappointed. The prices are a bit higher then most places which I wouldn't mind if the value was there. When I reach out to receive my bag of food through the drive through I would like to feel a little weight in the bag. I figure for 7 bucks there should be a little substance, so the real disappointment starts there because I know I'll be hungry in no time at all. But I will say that the big zipper is quite filling and taste ok, It was a better burger 25 yrs ago or maybe I'm a little bit more picky now a days. read more

The classic burger joint menu from the 1950's. Zips has great food with a taste that cannot be found elsewhere. I've been eating at Zip's for over 40 years and will be going back for another 40. Zip's here in Cheney is just as good as the #1 Zip's in Kennewick, WA. Eat at Zip's and live to be 100 read more

I wish i could give negative stars, but this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. As were ordering and there was a driver behind us honking aggressively as us to hurry with our order. When we got to the window the woman informed us it was her boss honking at us. She had a male figure exit the car "just in case"as she sat there on the phone threating to call the police. This kind of behavior from a manager is completely unacceptable and we will NEVER be returning. After treating customers like this ,I think she should be moved to a position were she isn't responsible for personal relations. read more

Really awesome late night drunk fest. However, fatty, unhealthy and fried yumminess makes college kids fat... so don't do it. Or do it. I don't care what you do, fatass. Two words: Zips frysauce!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I had the Papa Jo burger ($3.29) which comes with one beef patty, American cheese, slice of ham, amyo and lettuce. I also got an order of the crinkle fries. All I have to say is YUM YUM!!! I defiantly can't wait to make it back to Cheney to have Zip's again. read more

At age 64 and wife 63 we regularly go out to eat in our home town. So many places to choose from...but our favorite has always been Zips. Because of age and such, we frequently get our meals to go. Fast but good food. For me the best grilled cheese and fries in the world..and I've been around... We have 7 children together...my wife and I of 43 years marriage. Two of those kids worked for a while at Zips in Cheney while going to college. Out of 7 kids our next will be the 5th to graduate fro EWU! They all love Zips! It is a one of a kind experience! Not a big fan of Zips. I always find myself here but not being satisfied with their food. So far I only like their hurricanes. Other than that, I would rather eat at McDonalds. Their prices are so high it's unbelievable. I bought a kids meal the other day and I spent $7.90 on a small drink, small fries, and a cheeseburger. I don't think it was worth it. The fries was cold and the burger itself was not what I expected. Other than this experience, I don't think I'll find myself buying anything from here anymore. So disappointed. Especially coming from a person who lives in Hawaii. Thought Zips would the bomb.com. But it isn't. read more

Diner food at it's finest, and the milkshakes'll do ya right.

It took an hour for fries And a burger. And then they came and were soggy and cold. Really? Then custoner service was rude. This was shit. There's really not a good way to put this. I get this isn't grade A dining but c'mon read more

Stopped here while traveling to the East Coast, very wide variety of food, unique and good burgers, price was reasonable and the people who were working while I was there were very friendly and helpful. This place would be a perfect place to go if you're with a bunch of friends who can't agree on what to get get since they have several different types of food available. Sadly I probably won't be in the area again so I won't get to go through their menu and try everything but if I do go that direction I'm going to make sure I visit again. read more

It took about 45 minutes to get a cold burger and soggy fries. The employees were rude and this is ridiculous.

Literally the only zips I will eat at, every other zips seems to fall short of the glory that this Cheney one has. Their hurricanes and actually mixed and taste splendid. For example, at other zips if you order a Oreo hurricane you are going to get a large cup filled with vanilla Ice cream and an Oreo cookie. But not the Cheney zips they take time to properly blend your favorite sweets! read more

Great price and well portioned meals make Zips a go to for fast food in Spokane Washington and surrounding areas, I would have given them five stars but the Zips in Cheney Washington keeps forgetting the delicious ranch and jalapeño ranch dipping sauce in my drive through orders. I should not have to dig through the bag to see if they are there.... great service and awesome staff though, just think they are super busy and forget now and then. read more
