This company is a scam! Schedule for my family to get picked up to get to LAX at 7am. Good communication until payment was made. Then the shuttle did not show up. I called the driver that Ken said was picking us up, turns out it was a different driver picking us up. I called him after he said he was at our house and no one was there. Turns out that the owner had sent him to the wrong city. He said to call the owner Ken. after that all communication stopped. Ken has not answered any calls, texts or emails. I have been charged $590 with no resolution in sight. Do not use this company. read more

I asked for a quote from LAX to a Disney hotel. $245 with two car seats. More than double the price of every other shuttle company. When I asked why, they told me that I should spend the extra money if I care about the safety of my family since every other company is dangerous apparently. They also sent me a bad review of a competing shuttle company. How rude. Here are emails from them: "I don't mind if you were on your own, but to put your wife AND innocent young, helpless kids at such risk, I find people like YOU to be ridiculous, and I pray that God will give you the wisdom to become better stewards for your kids and wife, and not just count the pennies.. " and "If you cannot afford to travel safely, I suggest not to travel, until you save some more money and take better care of your family." Showed up early and got us to LAX from Garden Grove safely and quickly. What more could you want?

Ken was wonderful to work with! I booked him 9 months in advance (I like to plan) and changed our reservation by adding additional guests once along the way. Things I really liked/appreciated: -Ken was very prompt in returning my many emails along the way. Towards the actual trip I had probably emailed him 5 times and he was prompt and always friendly. -He provided 2 five-point car seats and a booster seat. I was specifically looking for a shuttle service that could provide safe, clean car seats. He also had them installed upon our arrival (I had looked at other services that would provide a car seat, but we would have had to install it). -We had a party of 9 that arrived at LAX around the same time (at 3 different terminals) but departed in 2 groups. He was able to shuttle us all to Disneyland together in one big van. And, he made it easy for us to find him outside of baggage at each of the terminals. -He was a genuinely friendly and pleasant man. He picked us up at LAX and it felt like we'd all known him for a long time. The kids were calling him "Uncle Ken" as we chatted! -He brought small bottles of cold water for us. -Finally, given all of our needs, he was really reasonably priced but he didn't skimp in anyway on safety. One of their class-less drivers almost hit my car in Beverly Hills. I honked my horn at him and immediately put his hands out the window yelling at me in a what appeared to be a foreign language. He was giving me the middle finger and waving it around frantically. Then he got behind me and was tail-gating me. I ended up losing him after a few moments later by doing a U-turn and as i passed him he yelled out what sounded like a racial epithet. By the time it was over, my hands were shaking as i was scared. I called to make me complaint but no one answered. I left a voicemail with my complaint and my phone number. This company just seems shady and although it may appear that they are a professional one, its things like this that cause me to give my business to someone else. UPDATE: About an hour or so after posting this, I received 4 calls in a row from an 818 number. I called them back and it was Zippy. I was informed that all vans are equipped with video and audio. The guy who called me started trying to talk over me and had an aggressive and threatening tone. I asked him to let me speak and he bluntly refused. So I hung up as he was yelling at me. I then received a threatening text message a few minutes later. It said: "This is Zippy Shuttle. Our vans are are all equipped with streaming video and audio. The tape clearly shows what happened: you cut in front of the driver on a major street, almost causing a major accident, and then braked abruptly in front of him. In light of this, we ask that you immediately remove the yelp review and own up to the facts. Failure to do so by 12 noon today will result in a report to the West Hollywood Sheriff's office for a fraudulent accusation, and libel. There will be a Subpoena of your information from Yelp.com, and will initiate a criminal and civil lawsuit immediately. This will be your first, last and only warning." I'm coming out of OG Yelp hiatus for this one so clearly I'm fired up to review this company. *** The positives: - Quick response for a custom quote (K9 transportation involved). - Competitive pricing. - Timely pickup on International return flight so we weren't left waiting at the curb with an antsy toddler. *** The negatives: - Each of the 3 shuttles (explanation for 3 count below) were filthy. I'm not talking just dusty, but filthy. Thank goodness I had my Clorox wipes on me to wipe everything down. - The driver who picked us up for our departure had no clue that we were bringing dogs. He gave us attitude when we directed him which way to take to the airport. His van smelled like smoke. - As soon as we loaded everything into the return pickup shuttle the driver told us "We're going to have to switch you to another shuttle. Don't worry about buckling in that car seat - it's not too far away." Ummm, what? DON'T STRAP IN MY DAUGHTER'S CAR SEAT? That was the beginning of the end. - Said driver proceeded to take us to the CVS off of Sepulveda like some shady drug deal. That's where we switched to a disgusting shuttle that smelled like smoke and felt like it hadn't been washed in years. - The last driver had to pull over to FIX A TIRE. Seriously? Exhausted toddler in the car, irate parents...it was not a good evening. To top things off, after I relayed this info to the owner I receive no apology, explanation...not even a response. Highly recommend Zippy shuttle! All phone calls and emails were answered immediately and courteously. Quote was least expensive one we found. We were traveling with 3 young children who all needed car seats. The seats were perfect and installed well. Ken is one of the nicest men I have met! He was BEYOND accommodating! Had plenty of drinks on hand, offered to stop anywhere we needed, even went out of the way to show my children a duck pond he knew they would like. Claudio picked us up right on time at 3 am in Newport Beach and then Ken was right on time with picking us up from LAX. He brought a cart to the baggage claim to help us too. With a week's notice, I booked a ride for my family from Valencia to Burbank Airport. The pick-up would need to be before sunrise on the day after Christmas. Ken returned my initial call within minutes of my message to him. The rate was comparable, if not better, than anyone else we called. When the day came, Ken arrived a good 10-15 minutes early, as he said he would, and the ride down was all we could have hoped for. The return -- a week later -- was just as good, with a driver waiting for us at Burbank when we arrived (even though we were delayed). I was looking for a shuttle service to take 8 ladies from LAX to Long Beach (Bachelorette Cruise) I looked up places on yelp and Zippy had consistently great reviews. I called Ken, the owner, and he gave us a great price for a round trip. He picked us up on time and we even had time to take a scenic route to the port! When we needed our ride back to LAX from Long Beach, we got off the boat earlier than we thought. I called Ken and he said his other driver would come get us so we didnt have to wait outside. I was very very happy with their service. Ken came to pick me up on time. He even offered me a bottle of water! I had to change my return flight. The thing was that I didn't know till last minute if I needed to change my flight or not, and turned out that I needed to delay my return for a day. He was so willing to work with me on it and it was such a pleasure working with him. His email reply was always very prompt, which is an important factor when I do business. I booked with Zippy Shuttle for my husband and myself in October '09 from Burbank to LAX for our honeymoon to Kauai. Ken returned my call very promptly and quoted me $58 per person which included tip for roundtrip service. We felt this was totally worth it since it's a non-stop ride to and from the airport and we had to be picked up at 7am at our home and had a early pick up from the airport when we can back and felt the tip inclusion was also worth it. We actually were picked up by a shuttle company that works with Ken when he gets booked up so Elaine was our driver to the airport and her husband picked us up from the airport. We got the service promised and couldn't have been happier. It was totally worth spending the extra money for a stress free ride to and from the airport. Used Zippy Shuttle from LAX to Anaheim on 8 Jan 2013. Everything went off without a hitch, and happened exactly as Ken said it would and his e-mailed instructions indicated. After retrieving my luggage from my flight, I was waiting no more than 10 minutes for the driver to arrive. I wasn't sure how LAX to Anaheim would be in PM rush hour, but he had me there in around 40 minutes. Couldn't have asked for better service. A+ Would use again! read more

I found ZippyShuttle.net while doing a web search for airport shuttle services for my daughter who is new to the L.A area. She and I are BOTH pleased. The emails were answered PROMPTLY, and politely and the price was better than the other companies' quotes that had come up in web searches. I was interested in using this company for an upcoming trip-- I filled out a form online and got an email response. I had questions regarding the car seats if they are cleaned between each use and up to date, the email I received back was the same as the first email (regarding price) so I called the number listed on their site thinking it was just a system mess up. The owner answered and was rude off the bat, telling me he only answered questions via email- I told him the question wasn't answered he then told me he suggests checking my email (i did) the questions wasn't answered so he then begrudgingly asked what my question was and then proceeded to tell me I insulted him by even asking that, haven't I seen his reviews, of course they would clean the car seats and then told me because I insulted him so much I need to find a new company. As a mom traveling with my children for the first time I just want to make sure and go through everything there could be when it comes to my babies and to be treated the way this man treated me is appalling-- any mothers out there looking for a family friendly company I would say seek somewhere else (the owner might even tell you that himself) read more

Pickup time was 11:00am from our hotel and they were there by 10:45 waiting for us. Van was clean and they have car seats and boosters for the kids. Great service will use again! read more

We booked ZIppy to take us from LAX to our hotel close to Universal City a couple of weeks before we arrived in the US from the UK. He replied very quickly to my original email and quoted $130 for the round trip. There were 3 of us plus luggage. This is a bit more expensive than the airport shuttle services but we were concerned about their reliability and as it was our first time in LA we want one thing less to worry about. I rang on arrival at LAX and the Zippy van arrived within 5 minutes. A word of warning this isn't your standard airport shuttle service, this is a mini tour in itself and was brilliant. When we told him it was our first trip to LA rather than use the clogged up freeway he took us on the city streets and gave us a very interesting tour of the city sites on route to the hotel. He did exactly the same on the way back and both trips flew by. The first thing he did when we got in the bus was offer ice cold water on both trips and arrived bang on time to pick us up at the hotel or our return to LAX. I really wanted to try this service since it got so many good reviews, and I go out of town at least once a month, but I've NEVER gotten a return phone call or email. The first time I tried to reach Zippy was a month and a half ago--I called and emailed a week before my flight. The second time, I was in a real jam and was facing taking one of those awful taxis--I called Zippy hoping that the first time I'd just caught them on a bad weekend-- looks like this was another bad weekend--in my second message left 5 hours after the first, I even said that they could call me up to noon the next day and let me know if service was available--NADA...that is definitely not the 30 minute response which is advertised. read more

Both pick up and drop off times, the drivers were waiting for us and they were very nice. If I'm ever in the area again and in need of a ride, Zippy Shuttle is my top choice! For those complaining about how clean the vans are...if you're so concerned, go get a limo service and pay more. The point is to get you to point A to point B, if you want class, pay for it. I read Fazil's post and I don't believe that's Zippy! This company is great and I've been taking them for years. The owner, Ken, is very nice and patient with my crazy itineraries. I've ridden with many of their drivers and their super nice! I usually travel alone and don't feel comfortable taking other shuttle vans because they take so many people all over town first before they can drop me off. Zippy only does direct rides for a great price. Part of their policy is that drivers would wait for you to come out and they help me put my luggage in the van. The vans are always clean and drop me off exactly where I want to get dropped off, even markets when I forget things and need to buy it. There's a reason this company consistently gets 3 or 4 stars!! read more

I just emailed Zippy for a rate quote. Ken replied within about 10 minutes. However, he quoted me a price more than double that of Super Shuttle's quote. I don't understand how some reviewers said they cost "a little" more than other shuttles. I was expecting like a $5 difference or something. I'm sure their service is fine, but for the price I was quoted, I can get a private sedan. Ken said there is a minimum so maybe it's better for groups and not individual riders. read more

Our family just used Zippy to Cruise Terminal in San Pedro and arranged a pick-up at LAX. Kenny our driver/owner was right on time both times, clean vehicle, good driving habits, and great knowledge of area. And the rates were reasonable for a private van. Just used them to and from lax based on some of the reviews on yelp. Owner was driver and was personable, reliable and punctual. We have an infant and toddler, but weren't,t traveling with car seats on the plane as we had arranged for them at our destination. Other services either told us they would not provide car seats or that they weren't needed due to the fact that they were running the equivalent of a taxi service, and taxis aren't required to have car seats. (This surprised me and I did verify it through the California highway patrol). Zippy told us that it wouldn't be a problem, and they showed us with a very nice, black, 7 seater Escalade with both an infant and a child car seat. I appreciate their high level of service and willingness to aid in safe travel with our kids. Price was fair, service excellent, would use again. read more

I recently had the pleasure of using Zippy Shuttle from the Long Beach airport to San Pedro. I had thought I would be taking a taxi, but I passed by a shuttle booth and decided to see if one was available although I figured that I would be told no, as I was the only customer. George, the driver told me he was available, the price was cheaper than a taxi and in just a few seconds, he had my bags loaded and we were off!! He was so polite and professional, and just a delight! He even had a printout of some interesting LA places to see and websites to view!!! Upon arriving at my hotel, he unloaded my bags, gave me his card and said if I called him after returning from my cruise, he would give me a reduced rate back to the airport. Upon my return, I called George, but he would not have been able to pick me up in time for my flight, so he arranged for another driver, Kenny, to pick me up. Kenny was just as friendly and delightful as George, and he gave me the reduced rate! I cannot say enough good things about Zippy Shuttle and would recommend their services to anyone. I normally use tripadvisor, but joined Yelp to write a review on this company (will probably use more frequently now). I wanted to write a review for two main reasons:1. I read the previous reviews and was a little concerned about our choice and 2. The service we received (even though there was a slight problem) was very good. Our group of nine, ranging from age 6-70, was on a vacation from Georgia. We needed a shuttle bus to take us from the hotel in Culver City to the cruise terminal in Long Beach. Ken was unbelievably kind and respectful. I will not get into the small problem, because it could easily be misunderstood by the reader. However, Ken went above and beyond to remedy the situation. As a small business owner, I am truly grateful for the service I received from a business I may not have the opportunity to use again.
