Got an ad in the mail and figured I'd call to get a quote. Our situation in a nutshell (no pun intended): Needed to move out of the house we sold by Sunday night, didn't have keys to the new house until Tuesday night and had to jump on a plane to go on a pre-planned trip by Wednesday night. Yep, you read that right. What we needed: Store our major furniture and my fiance's garage things for 2 days as well plus pick up and delivery of such things. We already had plans of storing anything other than those major things at our own storage place that we've had as well as a couple friends houses. What we ordered: (1) 15 ft. zippy shell + pick up and delivery + 2 days of storage. What we got: (1) 15 ft. zippy shell + 3 awesome movers (brad, jesse, and mike) + 2 days of storage + 3 hours of packing the shell + 2 hours of delivery. What fit: sectional couch, ottoman, dining table, 4 dining table chairs, nursery chair, nursery ottoman, nursery 4-drawer dresser, crib, queen mattress plus box spring, full mattress plus box spring, 2 simple bed frames, snap-on free-standing tool box with tools, two 6ft. free standing on wheels storage shelves, simple office desk, office chair, armoire, gun safe. I spoke with Brian (CEO) from start to finish - he talked through the whole process, gave me background about the company, and provided a price list, images of the shell and facility, and made me feel at ease that they were going to help as best as they can. And that, they did. Given I had called on a Wednesday for a Sunday start, he and the team were super flexible on our situation and they totally got my business. I was in the military and moved no less than 20 times. So I knew what a good move looked like. Zippy Shell, both at my Origin in Portland, Or and at my destination in Las Vegas was probably one of the best moves I have ever made. Foremost, your furniture is handled only 2x...once at origin when it is packed and the other at delivery. This is huge in minimizing damage to your belongings. I had a baby grand piano and it went off without a hitch. Their service was absolutely great, and I am definitely a critic of movers. They did it all, worked hard, set everything up and were polite, professional and wanted to make sure I had everything where I wanted it before they left. NO damage. I would give them 6 stars if I could. A lot has to do with the local management of the business. And I have to say Portland and Las Vegas have two of the best in the company. Hands down. read more

We've had them store dorm room furnishings from school in Nevada for a couple of years and while I thought the first year was seamless, the second year was even better. First we will do the good things about this place. They were on time for pick up and drop off. Their warehouse guys are really helpful. Now the bad. Their hours are not what they say they are. You need to call to make appointment to get into your stuff. Because the hours posted are not the hours there open. The owner doesn't want to have his guys there. And then even though his hours are 8am-5pm. He doesn't want you coming around 3or4 because he does want to pay his guys to be there. I found it was very inconvenient to try to get there on the owner's schedule rather then the one he has as his business hours. Then he acts like you are putting him out when trying to schedule to come there. For the billing he has just the same low customer skills. I had to order additional container for me. And rather then ask did you want to use the same card,you charged the first container on. He just charged it. And then when I asked,he was rude about it. And asked is that alright after he already charged it. And I replied I guess it has to be. If you don't mind people that don't follow their hours and have no customer service this is the place for you. read more

Our real estate agent recommended Zippy Shell as they could pack our household, safely store it until we could move in, and then deliver the furniture. What a great suggestion that turned out to be! Zippy packed us carefully and gave us keys to our storage shell. Three weeks later they delivered everything and helped us remove packing from furniture as well as position heavy items. Stay away. They will schmooze you with nice talk and promises but will shaft you. Las Vegas facility over charged and did very poor loading and packing. We where given delivery dates but they didn't deliver until the next week. After a long wait to get the containers the receiving end was great when they finally got here. They said they would have been fired for such a horrendous loading and packing job. Zippy Shell knew months in advance when this move was happening but continues to make excuses and not delivering when they said they would. The very small savings were not worth the extreme aggravation and delays. Several damaged or destroyed items that they packed but no damage to the things we packed. Do your homework and pick a company that will deliver on what they say they will do. A small savings is not worth the delays and aggravation you could encounter. read more

We used Zippy Shell for our move to Arizona. This was the first time using professional movers. It was well worth it. The owner Brian is a hands on owner and the employees are fantastic. They were professional, respectful and the crew all worked together very efficiently. Danny, Lafayette, Eddie, Johnny, and Ash were a pleasure to work with. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is that we had a piece of furniture that was more delicate than any other piece and it got slightly damaged. I think it could have been prevented. We started out with Brian-very knowledgeable and answered our questions and worries that we had. The day came to pack up our stuff in the shell we ordered. John obviously the lead man in this group- Alex, Daniel, and Ash. They all worked together and an excellent team. Everyone had their roles to play. It was fast and efficient in a matter of 3-4 hours(we had two places that need to be picked up from) We were a bit worried that everything was not going to fit. Horrible and unprofessional company to do business with, they promised something over the phone and actually took my credit card number, and called me after 8:00 pm with a completely different history This Guy Brian (CEO) called me to let me know that THEY only have 4 o 5 hours to load my moving stuff, and they will charged for it, when I never hired no ONE to help me to do my moving, with the excuse that they so busy and the operator don't know anything about the business!!!! I hired this company because they were the only ones that would pack, box, and store my stuff while we were doing constuction. They marked everthing per my coding system. When making the decision to uproot my entire family and business from one side of the map to the other, I honestly didn't stop to think about what a headache it could have been--and how stressful it could have been--to get my family's and my belongings across the map with us. I specifically use the words "could have been," because, thanks to Zippy Shell, it was not stressful at all, nor did I have to break the seal on my bottle of Ibuprofen. Now, before I found Zippy Shell, I'd reached out to other moving companies. Some POD people wanted to charge me $2400 for a single seven-foot pod. I couldn't get my dog's house moved with a seven-foot pod, let alone a house where a family of five lived! I don't have a dog, but if I did . . . well, you get my point. The $2400 didn't even include loading and unloading; they were trying to send me to some third-party company for that. Then there were the professional movers who pack, load, get your stuff across the map for you; the whole nine yards, but you need about nine yards in the bank if you want to go that route. Let's just say that after doing my research by reading more reviews than I can count, the average customer didn't spend under $250 on tape alone. Yes, those companies were charging astronomical fees for tape and boxes. But before you even get to all that, they wanted to know exactly how many boxes you were moving, beds, dressers, etc. They wanted to know the weight of your items. They wanted to know the dimensions of the boxes, bins, crates etc. REALLY? So, I have to become a professional mover and learn all of these things a professional mover needs to know in order to hire a professional mover?????? Altogether class: "Oxymoron!" Then, according to the reviews for those types of companies, if you underestimated the weight, size, and number of your belongings, your final invoice doubled, and in some cases, tripled. Refusing to pay the final inflated invoice meant your belongings being held hostage by the moving company. I won't even get into the horror stories I read about movers damaging and stealing items. Zippy Shell gave me the option of a ten-foot shell or a fifteen-foot shell. Now that's what I'm talking about. I chose the fifteen-foot shell. I will say, though, that when it arrived and I looked inside, I was a little taken aback that it was a cage inside of the shell. It was a tad deceiving, because it looked as if you had this big ole shell, but because of the cage inside the actual shell, you lost space. I kind of sensed I was going to be in a little trouble, and I was. Two hours into loading the shell, it became clear that I needed more room. I needed another shell. My house was scheduled to close the very next day. I had to get out of there . . . with my stuff. At first, I absolutely did panic, but then I realized that Zippy Shell had taken great care of me thus far, so I should continue trusting them. I made the call and relayed my dilemma to customer service. On that same phone call the representative added a ten-foot shell to my order. That night Zippy Shell was picking up my already fully packed fifteen-foot shell, and delivering the ten-foot shell that had been added to my order. But guess what? Zippy sent me a fifteen-foot shell, only charging me for the ten-foot shell. Even if I wasn't certain of how much space I needed, Zippy wanted to make sure there were no repeats, and that I didn't find myself in the same situation twice. Now those belongings I was originally going to put on the curb, even though I honestly didn't want to part with them, I was able to load on the second shell! Both shells met me and my family across the map. As a matter of fact, my shells arrived before my family and I did. Ha! Try reading something like that in the competitors' reviews. If I could give Zippy Shell ten stars, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Uprooting my entire family and business from one side of the map to the other could have been a stressful headache, but thanks to Zippy Shell, it was stress-free and painless. My sister and aunt will be making the same move next year, and they are already at ease and confident knowing that they don't have to worry about their belongings making the move with them. read more

When our furniture arrived there was some damage and no one seemed concerned.....they said fill out a claim which we did and it was all done thru email and immediately denied because of a 5000 dollar deductable. Call and they said that I did not request this deductable so unfortunately it is my fault .....claims are truly a waste of time and wil not be using them in the future read more

Just ending my day after moving out of a hi-rise condo and into a house in Southern Highlands. I'm exhausted but so pleased with Zippy Shell that I wanted to take a moment to review their services. When I knew about my move I contacted Brian with Zippy Shell to arrange for my move. He was professional and very attentive to customer service throughout the transaction via email and phone calls for confirmations. On the day of the move, the movers were on time and very pleasant to work with. I had Lance, Keith and Kendall facilitate during my move. Moving out of a hi-rise can be a hassle with navigating the hallways & elevators. They were patient and quick while handling all of the moving. They also made a pit stop in between to pick up my new table from Cost Plus. The whole time they were a joy to work with. All of my items made it to my new place safe and unharmed. I normally don't review service companies online, but Zippy Shell of Las Vegas consistently went out of their way to help. I recently downsized to a town house and needed a few months to store some of my stuff while getting situated in my new home. Zippy Shell delivered a sparkling clean trailer to my house at exactly the time they said they would and it was simple to load my stuff into the container, which I locked up and kept in my driveway, filling at my own pace over two days. The owners of the company, Brian and Jim, checked in with me throughout the process, to make sure I was satisfied with everything. At one point they even had their driver deliver some boxes, tape and a hand truck to my house because those were things I needed but didn't have them. Best of all, the prices were extremely reasonable, much lower than PODS, who I originally had planned on using. We used Zippy Shell to move our items and store them for for the two days in between when we sold our old house and moved into our new house. Because it's well over 100 degrees right now, we needed a moving company that could store our items in a temperature controlled facility for those days, ideally without having to unload the truck into a storage unit and reload it again. Other movers could only offer to leave the items on a truck, outside, for those two days. Brian at Zippy Shell patiently explained the concept of the shells and replied to our many worried phone calls, emails and texts leading up to the move. When the date of our closing changed he was able to change the dates of our moves last minute. During and after each move, he called us to check in and make sure everything went okay. The movers themselves were fabulous! Very friendly, easy to talk to, kept a great sense of humor despite the awful heat on both days. They never complained about being asked to move a piece of furniture from one place in a room to another. The head mover even helped me make my bed in the new place! Our 3000 sq. ft. home took three shells and included two bedroom sets, a living room set, and a large office. I was able to book extra men for the job (again, because of the heat) which past moving companies I used were unable to offer. Our priority was less about price than about managing the Vegas weather and making sure the moving days went smoothly. But had our priority been price, Brian offered ways to reduce the cost such as dropping the shells off at our home prior to move date and filling some of them ourselves. That might be a great option for someone who can move some items themselves but who does not want an unsightly, enormous pod in front of their home. One shell fit easily in our driveway and the trailer it is on is cute and clean. If you have a three car garage, you can probably fit two in the driveway. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone. Moving day does not have to be a nightmare! Companies are not all the same. I have moved many times including across the country. The smoothest move I've experienced. As a pilot, I've moved over 30 times in my life. I've experienced every moving horror story that you can imagine. So, when I had to move from Las Vegas to nearby Henderson, I researched four or five movers before choosing Zippy Shell. These guys were absolutely terrific. Booking the move was a breeze. I dealt with the CEO of the company, Brian, who thoroughly explained the process to me. He was knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. When I explained that I had some high-end flat screen TVs and fragile furniture and glassware, he offered to have his guys pack it or deliver moving supplies to my house a few days ahead of time, so I could pack things myself. The morning of the move came and the crew arrived at 7:55 a.m. - five minutes early! Lance, Kirk and Keith were neat, polite and friendly. Before they started, they explained what they were going to do and made sure to note any items that were fragile. They then took the time to ask me what my concerns were. Wow - that was a first! Most importantly they took great care of my stuff throughout the day. Kirk packed the container in such a way that nothing could move during transit. Lance and Keith made sure that everything was protected and padded perfectly. I chose Zippy Shell because of their reviews on Yelp and because they were cheaper than PODS, PackRat and everyone else. I have used them to move my things from a 26 foot truck into our 3rd story apartment in 2019, and last weekend(2021) from this apartment into our very first house. I hired zippy shell for 3 hours and three guys, they took their sweet time loading my house getting to the destination in which they didn't even have a GPS to guide their way I had to have them follow me, and then took an extra two and a half hours to finish the job for a total of 5 and 1/2 hours it almost double if my quoted price I would not really recommend this company. read more
