You know the story, my girlfriend locked the keys in the car. I called this guy at 7:30 in the morning. He answered. Told me he could be there in 20 min, which he was, and had me in my car 5 min later. He charged me $45. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 45 DOLLARS? This costs $145 everywhere else!! This was less than what I spent in Starbucks waiting for him to come. 5 stars, 10 stars, 20 stars!! I literally am going to lock my keys in my car later cause that felt so good. First off, in hindsight, we should have read all the directions and realized that we didn't need help at all. So that was on us. However, we called ahead stating what we needed help with and the person on the phone said he knew exactly what we needed and could help us for $20. We showed up and he showed us how to rekey our lock in 5 minutes and then basically told us we should read the instructions. We were kinda confused and then he was like "we agreed on $20 right?" And we were like "oh yeah..."--even though we thought that was pretty rude that he knew we just needed to read the directions and told us to come all the way over for something that takes 5 min. Then he said "if you pay cash, I'll just charge $15" as if he was going to just take it under the table and steal it (or maybe he's the owner idk). Either way, CREEPY dude. Not a good experience. poor service/poor quality they cut the first key wrong, then cut a second key and tried to price to different fobs together. the sides did not line up and created a rough edge. they wanted me to take the key but I said I wanted one that lined up and was in perfect condition since I had paid $170 dollars for a new fob. They again pieced one together and I went home with it but the case keep popping open so I returned it. it took the locksmith over 1/2 hour to figure out how to get the new key working. During that time the worker tried to peice to different fobs together. I told him I wanted one that lined up correctly. i could tell this annoyed him and maybe this is why it took him so long to get me a new key. The fob stopped working in less than 2 weeks. The battery had died. They couldn't even put in a new battery for $170 I cannot recommend zipkey to anyone, I think if one spends $170 on a key, the product should be perfect and not peiced together. read more

When I called he was at my home within ten minutes and gave me a card to come see him to get an extra key made for a cheap price, and even though I had found my keys by the time he arrived he still refused to take a tip and was very nice about coming all the way out to my home. This guy knows what he is doing! We were an hour away from him in Zion National park and lost the keys to our rental car in the narrows, and he came out there and cracked the code for our car in a little over an hour which is no simple task for the Ford rental car we had...(you basically need the code or you're not getting a new key). The database for these codes was down and he is one of few people that can crack the key without the code! On top of it he is one hell of nice guy, and had our nightmare of an ordeal taken care of in way less time than we expected and had time to go do angel's landing the rest of the day, awesome! Zippy Locks was very fast to come out, very fast to make my car key(under 5 minutes) impressive right? Very fast to get paid and even quicker for the manager Jeremy to tell me to F*CK off ( and in those words, literally) when I called him about a month after they made my key. My car would not start. After a tow to my mechanic, then a tow to the dealership (365.00 later) after process of elimination they figured out it was my key that was the problem. When I relayed this to Jeremy I was told I was barking up the wrong tree lady. Literally the worst customer service I have ever had or witnessed in my life. I do not recommend. How we ended our call was the dealer would give him a call. This was Jeremy's idea after aggressively telling me he doesn't know if it was the key or not? I told him I had documentation from the dealer, as well as the key he made which doesn't start my car and the car the dealer made that now does. Dealer called Zippy Locks 3x over a hour and half period. Apparently Jeremy was swamped because he didn't answer. Either that or gas caller idea. read more

I bought a new deadbolt with the new SmartKey system for easy rekeying. I had Zippy install the new deadbolt and rekey my six other locks to match the deadbolt key. I didn't know that all the other locks had the SmartKey system on them also. The Zippy locksmith used the SmartKey from the deadbolt that I supplied to rekey all the other locks. It took him like two minutes for all six locks, but he charged me the regular price of $10 per lock as if he had to rekey them manually. Dishonest! read more
