We were in a group on 7. When we made it to the top where the first tower was, there was another group that got there at the same time from the walking tour. We, unfortunately, had to wait for all seven in that group to go. We had to wait in the heat of the day for the whole group to go before we could start. Our guides were nice but very young and the one young gal had only been there 2 months and I feel like it showed. She was on the break on the third line, and it was the fastest. All they said was it is fast so maybe sing. Maybe could have reminded us to lean back so as to make sure you don't face plant into the metal hookups. Which is exactly what happened to me. I had spun so I was facing backward and couldn't see the break, and the gal must have completely put a full stop on without easing into it a little more. It was like hitting a wall, and having my face/eye slam into the metal hookups, and then whiplashing back from the impact. Rang my bell to say the least. All she said was I must have not had my helmet on tight enough. Well, that would go back to them because when we suited up they checked out our harnesses and helmets. They have you shake your head to make sure it's tight enough. Well, I didn't adjust it so if it wasn't tight enough they should have noticed. I felt like they were more interested in cracking jokes than making sure to remind the clients of what to do to to TRY and not face plant into the metal hookups in case they brake too hard, or not enough like she did with a guy in the tour. He came in so fast that she had to put her body in between him and a pole. A large telephone sized pole. I was also long waiting for everyone to go and then for 7 people plus the guide to sit on top of a tower. A lot of hurry up and wait. I would like to see one nice, long zipline. A one and done would have been perfect. read more

We drove down to KC and me and my daughter who is 13 wanted to try something new. So we decided to zip line and I am so glad we did. Darn I can't remember our zip guides real name but one of their nicknames were "grandma 2.0" the other was "birthday boy" both of these ladies were amazing! We truly had a great time, we were nervous going into this but they for sure took weight off of our shoulders by being them. We didn't tell them we were nervous they just had great energy, pretty good jokes lol and were knowledgeable so it make us both feel comfortable. My husband stayed back with our son because he isn't 70lbs quiet yet but soon as he hits the weight limit we will be back. Went up today for my sister's 62nd birthday for the Ultimate Adventure Tour. We had a a total blast! The tour guides are definitely a huge plus! Our guides, Ethan and Kaleb, were very entertaining while simultaneously ensuring we were safe and comfortable. View from the tower was awesome and of course zipping through the beautiful terrain was so fun! We definitely enjoyed the tower portion of the course the most. We both had trepidation about the zero gravity line at the end, but the anticipation was the worse part and it was a super ending. We wished we could have a do over without the anxiety I will definitely be taking other visitors there. A fun experience in the KC area! read more

I went to Adventure Zip and did the hike and obstacle course package (from Groupon!). It was a lot of fun! A guide took a group of us on a hike, with some challenging obstacles along the way. For example, there was a tire wall, a rope web, rocky areas, tree limbs, and an old school bus sitting at a 45 degree angle -- it was so slippery! I'd recommend it, especially at Groupon's price. Chickensh!ts of Kansas City, YOU CAN DO THIS! I'm scared of the Worlds of Fun ferris wheel, and I had a great time! If the idea jumping into thin air and hurtling over a gorge at 40 MPH toward a bunch of trees sounds like just too much, don't worry! The Hike & Zip package that I did includes 3 zips that take off from about the height of a kitchen stool, and nothing even remotely resembles the Grand Canyon. You're over thick woods overlooking the Kansas River, and the hiking trail between the zips is beautiful, and shady. Once I stepped off that first platform, the thrill overcame any fear I had. And landing is perfectly safe, I didn't crash into a single tree. A word of advice: leaning back is more comfortable than sitting up-your harness is less likely to (ahem) ride up. If that sounds too tame, there's a 5-zip package that starts out from a 60-foot tower, and an obstacle course that involves crawling through a school bus wrecked on the side of a hill. Apparently they do obstacle course races from time to time, too. Me, the Hike & Zip is just fine. Some things to keep in mind: 1. It's rustic out there. You'll think you've missed it (they could use another sign) when you get to a road closed sign and you're looking at a gravel quarry. Nope, it's there to the right. The office is an oversized wooden shed, and the bathroom facilities consist of two (clean) porta-potties. Which you'll want to use before you start, trust me. 2. They strongly suggest bug repellant and sunscreen, and they have some you can use. I don't think sunscreen is necessary for the Hike & Zip, but definitely use the Off. And I sorta wished I'd borrowed my dog's flea & tick powder, too. 3. They have bottles of water, and your harness has a place to carry it, but there's no food out there. If, as Adam did, you think a champagne toast is indicated, by all means bring it! 4. You can get some great pictures and video, but remember, it's a long way down and the bushes are thick if you drop anything. 5. Most of all, the guides are FANTASTIC! James and Paul are funny, friendly, and completely committed to keeping you safe while having a fabulous time. DON'T MISS THIS! read more

I loved this adventure. My group (5 of us) were guided through 3 zip lines with some hiking in between. They explained everything with our gear and safety measures, so I felt safe. Our guides were thorough and super friendly. The bus ride back was rough but it was fun to feel like a kid on a class trip. We went in 100 degree heat and LIKED it.! Ever felt like hanging 400ft in the air over a cliff? Me too! I was so excited to try ziplining for my first time! I'm not going to lie, I was a bit scared. I'm not scared of heights, just scared of trees coming at me at a fast pace. The crew at adventure zip exceeded my expectations and I've never felt more comfortable jumping off a ledge! Not that I have jumped off ledges often.... Our guides: Rachel and Jefe were fantastic. Very social and outgoing, and they made the tour even more fantastic. I was ready to apply for a job when I was leaving! I definitely want to return to try the tower zip. It looks amazing and it is a half mile long I believe. If you are scared of heights, this obviously won't be your bag, but if you want to get a little daring, ziplining is a perfect sport. It's fun, beautiful, and I can't say end ouch good things about the staff. Way to go adventure zip!!! I definitely want to check it out in the winter too, I heard the view is even more breathtaking!! Took my husband and two teen sons, 19 & 17, as a Father's Day present. We had a fantastic time! From check-in until we left, every employee we came into contact with was friendly and professional. Went to experience the "Glow In The Dark" zip lining and I was a little disappointed. Our guides were very nice and fun to be around, the night was perfect with clear skies and fireworks display from the T-Bones stadium but my biggest gripe was the advertisement for this experience. This experience was described as "enjoy 4 professional grade dj laser light shows, music, fog machine and thousands of laser beams in a truly one of a kind event."...needless to say there was NONE of that. No laser light show, laser beams, no fog machine and no music except for what was coming out of my phone. It is listed on the website as "2 hours" in duration yet...we finished the course in 52 minutes but with a large party i can see it taking almost two hours. All in all, it was not worth the $99 for what is not even an hours worth of zip lining on 5 lines. However, I would definitely go back but i will only go back for the Ultimate Adventure Tour which is the same price as the Glow In The Dark experience but includes all 9 zip lines!! read more

I took my boyfriend and I to do the tower tour. The zip lining part was awesome, but I found the tour guides to be cheesy and annoying. In my opinion it would have been a lot more fun if the guides were less in your face. Definitely would be perfect for children, but as an adult I wouldn't book with them again. Each summer my teenage nephew and I try to "zip away" somewhere in the western U.S. and have zipped courses on both Catalina Island and in the redwoods south of San Francisco. Both were great, enjoyable adventures and worthy of return zips but this course was probably the most fun and interesting zip we have experienced. Take the full tour and throw in some easy hiking with 8 challenging lines of different lengths and heights over and through terrain that we didn't know existed in Kansas. For our journey, we were accompanied by 2 top notch guides (Paul and "that guy") who made the experience safe, enjoyable with their comedic comments and ultimately left us with the desire to zip again ASAP. Plan to spend 2 1/2 hours or so and don't be afraid to be acrobatic on the lines. Very highly recommended. read more
