We looked at a few doggy lodges and felt that Bayside was a nice place and the staff were playful with our dogs. Not only that, they were very clean and the facility did not smell (very important!). Also, their prices are fair compared to other places that we've seen or tried. Since we found Bayside, our pups have been visiting every 2-3 weeks and they love it every time! Even during the COVID restrictions, Bayside was there for them. Our Rotties love to socialize and going to Bayside provides the environment we want for them. The staff is warm and welcoming and we can tell how much they enjoy having our giant spoiled Rotties there. We've used their grooming services and their groomers do a great job and provide a report afterwards on their condition and needs. Love that! After doggy vamp, our pups come home like dead weights. They barely make it to bed because they had oodles of fun at Bayside!

I had a golden retriever before him, and I have never had as amazing an experience at a dog daycare, boarding, grooming, etc place as Big Valley. It is evident the staff absolutely love animals and put such care and dedication into ensuring every dog, cat, etc is not only safe, but having the bestest of times. I'm moving to the Boston area, and one of things that makes it hardest to leave Poulsbo is that Pippin is parting ways with one of his favorite places in the world. I'll forever and ever be grateful for everyone at Big Valley. I broke my leg a few summers ago and they were SO accommodating for me and Pippin, it melted my heart. Keri, Winter, Emma, Tapanga, Dayna, Nicole, Emily, Sarah, Hailey, Ava, Grace, Cal, Dylan, Megan, Keeley, Gideon, Meadow, and anyone else I missed - thank you all SO MUCH for being the best extended family for Pippin. You'll forever be part of Pippin's pack, along with all of his other furry buddies there. We love y'all, and honestly I'd recommend Big Valley Pet Resort over any other place I've been (even non pet related). They are the best, and I just hope Pippin's new place in Boston is at least almost as good :). Forever in our hearts.

First you have to bring your dog in for a daytime stay, then you have to come back for an overnight stay. I hate to write this review but after multiple conversations and a lot of thought I put into this,…read moreI feel it's only right. This review is to make awareness of the situation my dog was put into and hopes that this place train their employees to better handle a situation to keep both parties safe. At the end of the day this business is responsible for keeping their own employees and our pets safe. This business is responsible for educating employees on how to properly break up dog fights or avoid instigating them. My dog was dismissed from cbw due to bitting an employee. I couldn't believe it. My dog has never bitten anyone and is usually very submissive towards other dogs. I'd also like to note that this is not the first day care my dog has been to. He was at a previous day care where he stayed for a week without issues. We don't go there anymore because we moved. Now, I couldn't help but be skeptical of people who say they were bit by a dog that doesn't have a history of biting . Things don't usually happen out of nowhere. So ask "what did you do to provoke the dog?". I hate to say it, but most people who work with animals, have no business working with them, either because they can't read body language, push the animal's buttons (Inadvertently or otherwise), or they don't know how to diffuse a situation that involves more than one animal. So after being in my head all day after the incident. I called CBW if I could see the clip of the incident.. and this is what I saw.. There was a dog mounting my dog.. and the whole time that was happening the employee had his back turned and was not aware of what was happening. When the employee finally turned around, that's when my dog was trying to tell the other dog to back off. Then the employee jumped into conclusion and attempted to grab my dog from behind by the collar until he's standing on 2 legs because he assumed my dog was being aggressive. Now imagine.. My dog was already being bullied by a dog and then comes a human. He felt threatened and probably felt ganged up on and acted out out of self defense. I spoke to the manager after seeing that video to go over what happened because I wanted to tell her how I felt about it but the whole time she talked over me, dismissed me a lot, and didn't give me the chance to speak. I just wanted to get it off my chest but that conversation left me feeling so defeated and unheard. The manager explained to me that the employee can't keep his eyes on all dogs.. so ask yourself again, why is there only one employee watching a bunch of dogs? Why didn't the employee use a slip lead to remove him, why didn't he create space before stepping in?. It was a fully failed attempt to diffuse, and my dog got the bad end of it all and was punished unfairly. I'm glad I watched the clip before judging my dog, and you can bet I pat him on the back and was proud of him for standing up for himself because I would've done the same. A non aggression dog bitting in self defense if grabbed by the collar too hard. I couldn't blame him. Moving forward, I just hope no one will have to go through what my dog and I went through, and I only wish that they hire or train their employees properly to avoid another situation like this. I feel bad for the employee who got bit, but could've that be avoided? Absolutely, with proper training.

First off, PLEASE DISREGARD MY FIRST REVIEW. I was so worried about her breathing, I wrote it very…read moreimpulsively and I was so scared. It was a very unfair and extremely inaccurate review. So the REAL TRUE REVIEW IS..... If you are looking for Veterinarians who truly, truly care about your furry baby or babies this is a very special Animal Hospital. Yesterday I took my little maltese in for the first time, and we were so blessed to be seen by Dr. David Balderrama. What an incredible Dr. and a wonderful experience. He actually read Sofi's chart before coming in! He evaluated her WHOLE picture instead of just telling me that her liver is enlarged and only has 3 months to live as a prior Vet had said. I feel so relieved that she really is in good hands. Thank you Dr. Balderrama and all at Woodside Animal Hospital for being so kind, caring, compassionate and amazing!

I left Woodside Animal Hospital disappointed in both my dog's care and their follow-up…read more I brought my dog in specifically for a growth on his paw. After an assistant gathered his information in the exam room, she said she would take him into the back for the veterinarian to examine him. Because he was scared, I asked to accompany him. At that point, the plan changed, and the veterinarian came into our room instead. The veterinarian then said they intended to muzzle him. My Lab/Golden Retriever mix is very gentle, so I questioned the need. The exam proceeded without a muzzle, but the veterinarian said she could not find the growth--the very reason for our appointment. When I got home, I immediately found the growth myself, photographed it, and emailed the hospital with my concerns and a request to refund the exam fee. They replied that they were escalating the matter to their chief of staff. A week later, I still have not received any follow-up. I understand that veterinary staff may use muzzles for safety, but I expect clear communication about how my dog will be handled. This experience left me concerned about what would have happened out of my sight and undermined my trust in their care. Between the unsuccessful examination and the lack of follow-through on my complaint, I did not receive the attentive, compassionate service I expected. I will be looking elsewhere for veterinary care.
