I love this place!!! The staff are very comforting and supportive. I came in frantic with my puppy vomiting and I was worried about an infection. They were so, so sweet, comforting, and understanding. They helped guide me through the process every step of the way. With any kind of tests and procedures the staff were really good about explaining the necessity of these exams and on top of that they were good about collaborating a plan of care. They answered all my questions. They also gave me tips on future care for my puppy. Obviously emergency medicine is never going to be cheap especially since my puppy didn't have insurance since I just got her. However, they were very straightforward with the prices and they always asked ahead of time if it was okay to do so. One of the concerns was my dog having parvo and I was impressed with the way they handled the precautions needed. They came in with a gown and gloves and fully dressed in PPE and they gave me disposable pads just in case my puppy tested positive which thankfully she didn't. I hundred percent trust them with any of my dog's lives. They saved the day!

She's NOT feeling well!!!

No one visits a vet ER for fun but while my purpose in being at Pet Emergency Center was stressful,…read moremy experience there was outstanding. Every staff member I encountered was kind, friendly, patient, and helpful. One thoughtful woman went out of her way to bring a bowl of water for my dog (who was not the animal needing care but could not be left at home alone). The doctor who saw my injured cat was generous with his time, answered my questions thoroughly, and had a good sense of humor. Staff members did their best to make sure I did not miss my return ferry and even gave helpful advice on where to find a decent latte at the crack of dawn. When it came time to pay I was expecting a bill in the mid four digits- after all, this is ER care at 3am on a weekend- but the total was shockingly low! I even asked if they had forgotten to add in his bag of meds! The fact that affordable, quality emergency care like this exists is deeply heartening. Winston's eye is, knock on wood, healing well and the care he received was top notch. Thank you so much, PEC team, for helping to make sure my chunky tabby doesn't turn into a pirate.

We called in the late evening on a Saturday night and drove almost an hour to find such caring compassionate people at Pet Emergency Center. We had a good wait of course bc it was after a holiday but we waited comfortably in our car where they offered to come and get us when it was time. They let us know ahead of costs so we wouldn't be shocked. The compassion and care by the incredible intake nurse was so needed after our last experience with a vet was so heartbreaking, we left without our dog. We are grateful for this incredible team and express our deepest of thanks!

Coastal rivers were the attending clinic under vet de jong. 2 days ago we did a checkup as the operation was unsuccessful for the cherry eye under vet de jong's care. Once at the appt we started to ask questions like Any ordinary furry puppy owner would ask: 1. Why did the operation fail? 2. What in your experience as a vet could be done? 3. Have you done many surgeries of this type ? 4. What is your vet experience? 5. If operated again would you seek out a senior vet's help for the procedure? .... Guess what? This is what she answered: "None of your business!!!!!" The vet actually said it's not our concern!!!! She knew we were fostering and were to adopt and Yes to the contrary it is our business to learn more about future procedures and her knowledge of this type of serious operation. After doing more research we found advice from actual animal eye surgeons called othmatology vets...... yes there are actually 2-3 clinics in the lower mainland that does this specialty and this vet was not a specialist so we wanted to know her skills. She lost it got triggered form us asking her serious questions and actually kidnapped the dog right from our hands and ran into the back. My wife and I didn't know what to do we were stunned! We found out after 10 mins and from this horrible vet De Jong that she called the spca and they must have told her to return the dog to us! Please avoid this Vet she treated us awfully and could not Handle us asking detailed questions about the surgery in the future. Why did she do this? Why was she so triggered? Being a young vet concludes that she Definitely needs more training and for sure more counselling and we will never ever go back to this clinic. Horrible! Hopefully Dr Taylor you read this And choose to Respond to us and reach out to tell your vet De jong to apologize?

She referred us to VCA in Victoria where Oncological Surgeon Dr. Seguin said surgery was not an option and offered chemo treatment with Palladia. Medical Oncologist Dr. Bowal carefully monitored Ollie's bloodwork and weight, helping him to stay active, bright, and happy for over a year. When Ollie's time to go came, Dr. Bowal, Techs Eva and Matt, and Manager Sarah were astonishingly kind to Ollie and to us. They are all exceptional. My family and I are grateful to them for their skill and kindness. I should mention that this level of veterinary care is expensive and that it was largely covered by our pet insurance with TruePanion, which I highly recommend to all pet owners.

This means you seek them out in a case of an Emergency. Meaning no other options are viable ones. Meaning you need to be seen despite any and all other factors. Including waiting. You have no other option. No other choice. So, you wait. To get done. What you need done. For the Love of Your Pet. The place has plenty of free parking. In Vancouver this is unheard of and we instantly appreciated it, especially in a time of distress over our Kitty. Once we entered, it was a bright, spacious, clean and welcoming environment. A coffee/tea station, kids area, 2 well maintained bathrooms, reading materials, comfortable seating, soothing radio and a water station. blankets, pet water bowls and beds are available upon request. The staff and Dr.'s are immensely knowledgable, helpful and friendly. My google review…read more Word of CAUTION .. your pets deserve better! Originally I gave this business a 5 star rating based on the fact that we were taking our dog in for non invasive services such as nail trims and picking up his food and insulin over the last couple years. Our dog needed a glucose curve test done once a year to ensure it was the right dosage especially since he had one issue of hypoglycemia, unfortunately our regular vet clinic was short staffed on doctors so we decided we would try a clinic where we believed the vets were qualified....we were wrong. Dec 16/24 our dog went in for his glucose curve test. Our dog had been on a dosage of 7 units twice a day for over 2 years with only one time issue. This clinic dropped his insulin down to 2 units twice a day and backed that decision up with he was most likely in remission which was not correct and a specialty animal hospital with internal medicine veterinary specialist said they have NEVER seen this in dogs only cats. Between Dec 16th and Dec 26th we took our guy multiple times back to this vet clinic with concerns of how he was acting..increased urination which is common with untreated diabetes to be told that it was our fault including that our 7 year old granddaughter must be giving him treats.. she has grown up with our dog and knew the dangers of snacks / treats that can happen with diabetes .. let me reiterate our dog was diabetic for over four years and it was controlled, and we have detailed medical records to show. Dec 27th we took him to different vet clinic and asked Family Vet to send over his medical records which took multiple calls requesting them and hours before they were received and when I reviewed the records on our dogs last time being seen by the "vet" he made a note that I declined physical exam ... first of all I assumed since we brought him in multiple times between Dec 16th - 26th that when he being examed by the vet and having blood taken that would be part of a physical exam. The new clinic accessed and stabilized him so we could make the trip to Boundary Bay that specializes in urgent care. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, fluid in his tummy that required an NG tube and blood sugars that spiked or dropped dangerously low as they struggled to get his insulin to regulate which is hard to do when the pancreas is not functioning properly. He was finally stable enough to come home Jan 2 with medication for nausea and pain, feeding and pain management schedule of every three hours and glucose sensors which we had to change every two weeks until March 21st. From the time he was released he was under medical supervision by an internal medicine team and it looked like he might make it however all the damage that was done starting Dec 16th caught up to him and all of us and when we had exhausted all options we were left with the most humane choice which was to have him put to sleep. What we were left with is the heartbreak of the loss of a beloved family member, thousands of dollars in vet bills and ashes.

I have gone to Kim for years, and while I had to go to Texas for a while it was impossible to find any shop that came close to the quality work Kim does, or the loving care she gives my two dogs. I have gone to Kim for over 20 yrs, and I'm a person not easily impressed...I have had my dogs when traveling or Kim was to busy to fit them in (my fault) and each time my only thought was "I wish I was back home so Kim could straighten out this mess". Now, no longer traveling ..going to Kim's and my having no concerns about how my dog will look (you can't believe some of the disasters I've seen on grooming my westie :( argggg) I get to drop Sophie off, knowing she's in good hands. My pup gets so excited about going to Kim's that the minute I turn on the road to Kim's place, she starts howling in joy ...she adores Kim. Kim has a silent communication with her "clients"...Sophie was just a baby when she did her and she was hyper and difficult for me to even bathe ..not so with Kim. She settles in when she arrives for her "beauty appointment"...and I get a break (just like a mother who drops her child off at school!) and get to go to lunch or shopping without her hitting all the electric windows and door locks as she runs from window to window...once locking me out when I stopped for gas). If you really want not only a great grooming experience for your dog but the confidence that you'll have no worries about their care...then I highly recommend Kim's grooming. My boarding experience at Kim's has been equally excellent...not to mention her pricing is incredibly reasonable. I leave knowing that I have the peace of mind that she is safe and happy, which makes my trip more enjoyable. Obviously I highly recommend Kim Grooming A+++. P S, yes I finally realized there is a door lock on drivers side that prevents her from locking or unlocking the doors, or the windows going up and down..
