    Shrimp and chicken Jambalaya
    Matthew E.

Listen...I was in Norfolk, Va visiting family and my son invited me to Ziggy's not the Portsmouth location but the Norfolk location. We ordered the Salmon bites...the Nachos with grilled shrimp, and my favorite the southern tacos with green and Cornbread...what...did you hear me, greens and cornbread...OMG...tasted like Mardi Gras in my mouth, translation...a flavor explosion. We also ordered shrimp and chicken jambalaya, and crab cakes with dirty rice and brocchil. If you in Norfolk Va and looking for some good food, go to Ziggy's.

Highly recommend trying the food here. The flavors all meshed well and the sauce is just great! The wings had a little kick. Nothing too crazy, but enough to be like "ooo". We found this through social media review and just had to try it. Service was fast and efficient. I appreciate that they show you the food you ordered before packing it all up for to go. Definitely will be back again!

    Strawberry cake

I purchased the meat (chicken, shrimp, salmon) bowl, it is very flavorful. My intentions was to get a forkful just to taste it but the forkful turned into several more forkfuls. My husband said it was very tasty also. The confetti and strawberry are very moist and buttery. I will definitely be back.

Food was amazing nice lil vibe . Shrimp Rice Bowl

I visited the Portsmouth location January 26th and the food truck February 4th. It is a small location. There are some tables if you choose to eat inside but most people were doing grab and go. There's a small parking lot and also street parking. The rice bowls are delish! They are topped with teriyaki and ziggy sauce, bell pepper, onions and your choice of protein. The shrimp are large and most importantly CLEAN! The rice is tender and fresh not mushy. Chicken was tender and fresh. Although the rice bowls were delish my favorite was the jerk chicken egg rolls. Good amount of heat. I wish I would've asked for extra sauce to dip them in. If the restaurant is too far you can see where to find their food trucks on their social media pages! Give them a try!

Although I saw red pepper flakes, it was more flavorful than spicy, which I was happy about. It did come with a hot pepper sauce for those who enjoy additional spice (not me). The Mac and cheese was really tasty! Very cheesy with a smoky taste. The beans were also great, with a smoky taste. The staff were super nice as well. She explained the flavors of each side to a tee. The four stars is because the servings were so small. I wanted more of each side!

I found Pitt County BBQ at the Bayside Harley Davidson dealer in Portsmouth. The smell of the awesome q from their smoker waffled through the 5 acre complex. Of course there was a line on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Lot gif folks out looking for new bikes and enjoying fantastic food truck barbecue. What immediately struck me was how clean the trailer was, like new! The orange color was striking as well and drew my attention from the road. I just had to try them out. Once at the window a female staff directed me to their menu and was kind enough to direct me to their best seller the pulled pork. I ordered a combo with sides of baked beans and macaroni & cheese. Also a bottle water. All transactions are automated and can apply tip. Prices were in line for a food truck. In no time my name was called with everything bagged up and plastic utensils. I popped the lid open to the wonderful aromas. The pulled pork sandwich was enormous, guessing a half pound of meat. It was two inches thick. A sweet in-house BBQ is in a container along with slaw. I set my sandwich up with a small amount of their sauce which is very thin and smelled yummy. The owner Wendell came out to say hello. They are a new truck that had operated in NC previously. The name Pitt County is derived from its namesake county that has a long history of award winning barbecue. That first bite of sandwich was heaven and I added more of the sauce. I decided to eat the slaw independently and just WOW on flavors popping out of the tiny cup. The beans were standard but good! The macaroni was prepared differently with the type of noodles used and offered plenty of cheese and nice flavor. However no wow factor but most certainly holds its own. If I had to do over I would have got slaw as a side. This is a must find truck folks. They began operations in 757 early this year and do catering as well. They also offer a few items of merchandise. I hope they come closer to my house, but hey I would drive again for them. Follow their movements on their website and Facebook page. Be prepared for an incredible truck meal.

This visit was pretty cool! I believe this place opened up a little over a month ago or maybe…read moreless. But they are still brand new in my eyes. The inside of the place isn't fully developed, whereas they are sitting up the left side to sell ice cream super soon. I heard about this place via Facebook last week and visited two Sundays ago to find out they do not open on Sundays. A matter of fact, they are closed Sunday, Monday AND Tuesday! So yeah...be mindful of the hours of operation. I believe I posted the hours via photo. Coincidentally, I visited on April 9th and promised my daughter we will revisit during next weekend. We ventured out to Bennett's Creek Park on this past Saturday and to our surprise we saw the pink truck parked on the grassland - passing out free Italian ice for the patrons. So yeah, this business is mobile as well. So book them! It wasn't until I asked for a business card (flier posted in the photos) and saw that this is the place we attempted to visit the Sunday before...awwwwe!!! So needless to say, we had a preview of the Mango ice on Saturday - yummy! My daughter sampled the cherry and she said it was yummy too. They had samples for everyone and most had seconds! Super duper exposure for them and the ice was good and refreshing! So here we are on Saturday (last Saturday) to try a funnel cake. A powdered sugar funnel cake is $5 - flat! No taxes!! Whuuuuuut!!! That was a pleasant surprise. We were the only customers inside, but shortly after two others walked in and placed orders. They not only sell desserts but food too! I'm looking forward to trying a burger soon :) In about five minutes or less, the funnel cake was ready - made fresh! My daughter and her friend enjoyed it! I took three bites to see how I liked it - it's good. While not the best I've had, but it's worth $5. And looking at the funnel cake it looks as though you have two in one box. So you may want to share rather than try to eat the entire cake - share the calories! While we only wanted sugar on our funnel cake, they offer toppings as well. Check out the menu - picture posted! All in all, T'z has potential! While it's super early, this addition to Portsmouth should be hot on the scene soon, especially with the weather heating up. Be mindful of the parking. While there are about a handful of spaces in front of the restaurant. As business booms, parking may become an issue. But for now, no worries. Looks like she will be set up soon to host parties too. This will be cute, an ice cream parlor scene...I can see it now! I hope she does well in months to come. Support local businesses! Have fun and enjoy life!

Worth the $7.50 we paid? Not at all. Idk when they made our cakes, but they didn't taste fresh. We also ordered tenders, wings, and fries. The tenders were a bit dry in my opinion and husband thought the wings weren't meaty enough. The fries were thick cut - quite bland - but had potential. Overall, this place was overpriced for just okay food. We won't be back.

When I got there it was a short wait. They give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. They had a limited menu with the fish sandwich, bang bang shrimp, chicken tenders, crinkle fries, potato salad, and chips. The fish sandwich was $19 with the fries and house sauce. The fries were a little limited. I wish we got a few more. They were good. The fish looked tasty, and crispy. It had 2 pieces of fish on it, and the bread was soft. The piece I ate right away was good. But the leftovers weren't the same. The fish has skin on it, so it got soggy and had the fishiest taste. I felt like I licked a piece of fish right out the pond. So I highly recommend not saving leftovers!! The sides are $5 a piece. The customer service was ok, but she was a little busy. So it wasn't much of and interaction. I'd probably go back to try the shrimp because I did like the house made sauce. It was a decent meal when it was fresh. Check them out!!

The flavor was ok but would have been more enjoyable if they warmed the food and gave us a little bit more. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the food truck but it's green with king Neptune on it. Cute, but I hoped a bit more from this place.
