I had my windows tinted here in early July and they look AMAZING! There was a $199 special and there were no hidden costs whatsoever- they did all 4 passenger windows plus 2 small windows in the back and my rear window! I went a little darker than I probably should have *fingers crossed* but the privacy and shade from the sun is worth the risk! I will get a remote starter done here next as the prices are great for the quality. read more

I paid around $400 for this particular Ziebart to detail the exterior of my vehicle. I specifically brought it in to get the swirls out of my paint job. I especially pointed out the scratches around my side handle and low and behold the scratches were still there come the next day, along with the same swirls on the whole of the vehicle. Nothing but a coating I paid for. I could of did a better job just waxing it. $400 of my hard earned money down the drain. Beware of this particular shop and the time of day you pick your vehicle up. Hopefully, it's a sunny day where you can see the unfinished work without driving off there premises. Not happy. Never again with this place or these people. Oh, beware of fillers. Bring a rag with a dab of alcohol on it and rub a known trouble spot for scratches before leaving any shop doing paint correction. read more

I will most definitely start by saying that I will not take any vehicle I own back to this place as long as I live here in the Twin Cities. I = unhappy. It's tough not knowing where to take my car here.... so I had to kind of take a chance, and I got burned. The problem I had was the rear window on the driver's side of my car had a broken regulator.... meaning, my window would stay up, if forced up, until I had to drive anywhere.... when it would inevitably fall down. Being that it's Minnesota, and November, this problem had to be remedied. My husband called to ask for an estimate, and, fair enough, they didn't want to give one until getting the inside panel off of the door and evaluating what, exactly, was the problem (it could have been a few things). They agreed I would bring the car by @ 3pm, and he had time to look at it then. I arrived on-time, and was told that he still had to finish up something else (could happen), but I had to LEAVE my car there for him to get to it. Now, fortunately, I don't live THAT far away, but this was not agreed upon previously, and I had to walk all the way home to our apartment. And, truly, it felt like a ploy to get me to leave my car there, and then not deal with the hassle of getting it to take it elsewhere, in hindsight of the process this all took. He calls me a couple of hours later and tells me it will cost $140, because it's the regulator, not the clamps. This is, keep in mind, for a used part, as well. I had told him I just wanted it fixed, we're looking to sell the car soon, and I didn't want to dump a lot of money into. He said he could easily get a used part from a junk yard, to "save" me some money. I discuss the fairness of this price with my husband, as well as my father via the phone... and decide, to have it done with, I'll agree to the $140 (knowing another place quoted $60 in labor if we got the part, which should have run $40-$50 tops, NEW.... as I did look into that as well for the make/model and year of my car.) I also asked him to break down parts vs. labor with me, and he WOULDN'T do it. This baffles me. "It's all inclusive, plus I have to go drive to pick up the part" etc. I'm not pleased that he wouldn't do that, as I've never been ANYWHERE that hasn't given me an itemized bill in the end, and I can see it regardless. This should have been my clue to not do it, but, again, to save the hassle of walking back to pick it up and move on, I said "screw it" and told him to just do, but could I please see the bad part afterwards?, to see what went wrong. He got defensive with me stating, "I've been doing this for 27 years". WTF? I just wanted to see the part/what, exactly, broke. Is it strange for a female to request this? I have no idea. I leave my car there over night so he can start the repair "first thing in the morning". I wait more than half a day for a phone call for the car to be finished, which never comes. I call in the early afternoon, and am told "oh, I just finished it". Okay. I ask, "so it's $140 total, correct?" NOPE. "Actually, $155 [plus change] with taxes and SUPPLIES". Okay, how can I get told an estimate of $140 that is allegedly "all inclusive" to have $15+ tacked on at the end? And, of course, you can't truly bicker over that after he's already done the work. Shoddy, I cry. And, again, I will not return. This is why people don't like or trust mechanics, and that's sad. I asked for my itemized bill, which, I guess, I got. It said my repairs were $140... then "taxes and supplies" for the extra $15+ It looked so unprofessional. Why even bother with an "itemized" bill??? What a waste of paper. Ugh. Yes, so far my window works... hell, it better for what I paid for it. read more

*edit* on the bottom So my body shop up in Coon Rapids tried to do me a favor and dropped off a decal for my drivers side door at this location since it was closer to me and since he knew the guys or something, didn't ask, just knew that after a few weeks it was finally going to be put on (it took a while to ship to the body shop, more on that later) and I was pretty excited. I'm driving a old Jeep Cherokee Classic that I just had major rust work done on, and then, of course, after that work was done someone hit my driver door, so I had a new door on it as well. Since it was a new door, well new to me, we had to find a sticker. I guess the Cherokee sticker my shop tracked down was one of the LAST OEM ONES AROUND. Now, personally, I don't care if it was OEM or not, but hey, he found it and I paid for it, and we're good. Only after he found it and had it shipped did I know, or did it register with me, that it was missing the "classic" part of the sticker. So no big deal, it was on the way, and that could be got in a reproduction sticker or something. More money, yes, but not the end of the world. So we were thinking to use the sticker that's on the way, and then when I got around to it putting the Classic on later. Thus, why I was excited, almost like a kid at christmas opening some really fun present that I had been waiting for a while. So I get it to this Ziebart place, guy comes up, takes the keys, drives it in the building, and then says I can wait in the little waiting area. Ok, no big deal, shouldn't take too long. THEY PUT IT IN THE WRONG PLACE! The idiots couldn't look at the other side of the car to see that they were missing a sticker and to ask me what to do. They had to make up their own minds, put it on as per a Cherokee, and pretty much WASTED THE LAST OEM CHEROKEE STICKER THERE IS! Can't do anything about it, it's on, not like they can be pulled off and moved. So I either have to make the other side match (thank God that at least lines up) and pull off the classic, or pull off the whole sticker THEY JUST PUT ON and toss it in the trash when my new reproduction one comes in. As I get older, I don't really get worked up about this, I'm not mad, I don't wish that their shop burns down, the employees out of jobs, and a condo put in it's place. But, I am disappointed and a little sad. Disappointed because I truly was looking forward to getting that done and then putting the classic part on when it comes in. I put a lot of money into the car and this was part of the final touches that needed to be done. Sad because I would have thought I could trust someone at a detail shop to at least look at both sides of the car and ask me what I wanted to do. Also sad because the sticker is wasted, $150 or whatever it was gone, and it was the last original OEM one around. It could have gone to a much better home than where it was put on in the wrong place by someone who couldn't be bothered to ask questions and/or look at the other side of the car. Now, this was all done for free and as a favor for my original shop, and I guess the old saying is true, you do get what you pay for. Which is sad really, since this could have been really simple and would have looked great. *edit* So, I ran across another Cherokee with a silver sticker and was surprised in that the sticker it had was in a different spot than where they put mine. So I can only assume that they did look at both sides, then made up their own minds where it went without talking to me and ended up putting it in the wrong spot. This is different as before I just thought they weren't paying attention but now I know they willfully did this and willfully decided not to ask me about anything. I honestly wouldn't deal with these guys. I bet there are a lot of good shops around, work with someone else. read more

I took my car in because my remote starter was not functioning properly (I got it done few years ago back in Massachusetts). I asked Lindsey how much it would cost for the service. Lindsey took a quick look at it, and knew what was wrong almost immediately. After about 15 minutes working on it, he went inside and came back out with some tools. He got it to work without me having to schedule an appointment...granted it was probably an easy fix on his part. But anyway, he didn't charge me anything for his time. That was some excellent customer service. It wasn't about how much he wanted to charge, but rather if he can fix the problem and help me out. I highly recommend this location. read more

Just took my car here to get the windows tinted yesterday. They did a pretty good job at a fair price $179 (it was a sales special, usually the price is at $240ish), after taxes it came out to $193.94. At first I called the Bloomington Ziebart location, they charged $245ish for the same tint job. Bloomington also charges $500 for the paint protection film on my hood and front bumper while the Minneapolis location charges $150ish for the hood, and $150ish for the front bump...so that's $200 less! Skip out on the Bloomington location people. Overpriced and from reading other reviews the owner there has zero customer service skills. I work in downtown Minneapolis and only have 30 minute lunch breaks. Called Ziebart about setting up a window tint and they had a time slot open during my lunch hour in the same day. I drove my car here during lunch hour and they were nice enough to give me a ride back to my workplace (in my own car) then took my car back to their shop to do the tinting. My car was at their shop from 1:30pm to about 3:45pm when they finished. Didn't take too long at all. I initially emailed them and they were quick to respond so kudos there. They also have good warranties on the work they perform. For the tinting work, they said all normal wear n tear, any bubbling/peeling/discoloration are covered. Only thing that isn't covered is scratches to the film. The warranty is I think 4 years??? Didn't quite catch it as I was in a hurry to dodge rush hour. But regardless, I find the warranty to be of good value for the total price of the tinting. After talking with the people at Minneapolis, they are also more open to cutting some small discounts for work done. Not sure about the other reviews on Yelp on this place, but my experience here was pretty good, especially for window tinting. This location is a rinky dink little place, but they get the job done. I will definitely come back here to get the paint protection film for my hood and front bumper later this year after I fix some chipped paint on my car first. I took my car to this place on Saturday for interior detailing. Called ahead and discussed details/rates, seemed reasonable. Dropped the car off and they called me to pick it up, they had it about 4 hours. Picked up the car and it looked like small children with white crayons had cleaned it! There were all these white spots on the door panels and the sides of he seats. The glass and instrument panel had some oily film all over them. When I brought it to the technician's attention, he just commented that "they didnt do a very good job", (it looked terrible! worse than what I brought it in!) . What a waste of time and money. Who'd have thought cleaning a car could get so messed up. read more

Did a lot of research and found that a lot of people recommended Ziebart in terms of Rust Proofing, detailing and Window tinting. So after extensive research I took in my car to Ziebart to get my windows tinted. When asked about how dark I wanted the window tinted I indicated to the Sale associate that I wanted the legal limit for the State of Minnesota. He informed me that I can have the back window as dark as I wanted and advised me to get 38% for the rear windows and a lighter tint for the front two windows, so a 40% for the front. At the time he indicated to me that it was legal. They did an amazing job with the window tint the car looked amazing. I couldn't complain about their quality of work they have great workmanship. However, the sales associate was misinformed about the law in Minnesota so after being pulled over for my window tint and being told it was not legal I was forced to remove the tint for the car. I contacted Ziebart and advise them of the situation and they told me I that was what I had requested a dark tint for the vehicle which was a total lie. I had inquired and stated that I wanted the legal limit in the State of Minnesota which I later found out that it is 50% all around. Don't be fooled by the sales associate. The law is real clear the legal limit for window tint is 50% all around. The cops are now enforcing the law and will pull you over for your window tint. To top it off they were going to charge me another 270 just to remove the window tint even though I had stated I wanted the legal tint limit. So I removed the tint myself. I would never go back to this place after what happened. I was lied to sold an illegal product. Be advise and do your research about the law before get your window's tinted. read more

I'd hate to give these guys even a star. So I brought my car here paid almost $200 for tint all the way around. Thought it was fine till I got home and noticed scratches & gouges on my door and 3.5" of my window trim was completely destroyed. I first called the company and soon later was contacted by the owner of the location I went to who was just a huge a**hole arguing with me and telling me i shouldn't have called them in. It was total bulls*** as well as my whole experience with the company so far. So now it's been a few weeks and there are still air bubbles and dirt rings on all windows. The only result was that I received a gift card for $50 to this exact location after a few emails and calls about disappointment... Even after telling them I'll never go back to this location. I can't even fix the damage they created with this. It was really an insult and slap in the face. Long story short if you care about your car and your money stay away from here. Rude people. High price, & a really horrible experience overall. The building is a total piece of s*** as well. read more
