We used to be regular customers at China Town in LaFollette and always enjoyed eating there, but…read moreafter our experience on Father's Day, we won't be returning. Our almost 2-year-old son was eating with us, and like most toddlers, he can be a messy eater. A few noodles ended up on the floor, and the male server gave our child a dirty look that made it seem like he was disgusted with him. Families with young children should not be made to feel unwelcome or judged over normal toddler behavior. The service overall was disappointing. Throughout our entire meal, no one ever came by to offer drink refills or check on us. To make matters worse, the bathrooms were very dirty and clearly needed attention. We were disappointed because we had been loyal customers for a long time, but after this experience, we have decided not to come back. It's unfortunate to see the quality of service decline so much at a place we used to enjoy.

Food: The food is consistently great with lots of options! I recommend (whatever protein) with garlic and curry sauce with mixed vegetables, lo mein, or a sweet and sour dish. Service: Ownership recently changed, and I must say, the new owners are WONDERFUL! Very kind, accommodating, and they take the time to remember familiar faces. They truly embraced the community and preparing the food as well as the previous owners. Ambiance: This is NOT a sit down restaurant. Do they have tables and chairs? Yes. I still recommend take out.

We arrived close to closing and were warmly welcomed by the friendliest and funny gentleman, which already made us feel at home. The place is simple and a bit old-school, but clean and well kept. I had the Shrimp Egg Fu Young and my cousin ordered the Chicken with Black Bean Sauce--both were freshly made, flavorful, and super filling. Portions were generous enough that we had leftovers for the next day! Nothing fancy, just really good, classic Chinese food and a nice break from all the Southern dishes in the area. We like it so much that we came back again a few days later. If you're visiting the Smokies and craving Chinese food, this is definitely the spot we'll keep coming back to!

I ordered to go last month and they charged me $1.75 more for the shrimp lo mein than the menu price and they added a convenience fee of $1.50. It was a phone in order and I walked in and picked it up so I don't know what kind of convenience they were charging me for. Also, the shrimp fried rice was overdone and tasted mealy. Now I may give them another chance and I may not because I don't like being charged more than the advertised price and I don't like getting overcooked food, especially at a higher price.

This was my very first time here at the Dragon Garden, I must say this place is absolutely amazing. Yes, the buffet selection is quite small. The dessert section is even smaller. The first person told me is was exceptional, the other said she eats there at least 4 times a week. I was sold with those good reviews. Yes, they charge you for a glass water, believe it or not. We had one soft drink and one glass of water for a total of $5.95. I can't remember ever being charged for a glass of water before. But the food was delicious! Cooked to perfection. Everything we ate was cooked exceptionally well, especially for a buffet. The batter on the chicken was crisp, the shrimp was cooked as it should be. I was very impressed with the look and the taste of everything we ate. Honestly, it was absolutely stellar, I had no complaints at all. This buffet is well worth trying. We will be back, no doubt.
