This is easily the best Mediterranean food in Flowood, MS and what makes it even better is the person behind that counter and let me tell you why.

    Kelly C.

Overall 3.25 stars. Located and connected to a gas / connivence station, the place is open however small. There are about 8 tables which seats from 2-6 people. The staff were professional and friendly. A locally owned Mediterranean eatery. The menu is limited for more takeout food however you can sit down to eat it. This was my 1st time at the establishment so I grabbed Number 13: Beef and Lamb Gyro Combo, 3.25 Stars. The combo came w a Greek salad, Humus, Herb Rice Pilaf, a single Pita bread, drink and the Star of the show - the sliced Lamb and Beef. Now the Salad and Hummus is an option where you could ask for Fries instead of the salad and hummus . The Rice Pilaf has peas and diced carrots with mild Greek Herbs infused in the rice. The hummus was decent which was smooth and creamy with an occasional chunky Chickpeas for taste and texture. Also instead of a soda or sweet tea drink, get the Lebanese tea. It has a lemon based flavor using Black Tea and is slightly sweetened. Price: 4.5 Stars: The price for the combo is $14.99 which is a good deal for the amount of food you get. However, I wish it came with Two Pita bread instead of One. Two is great so you can scoop up the hummus and the meat. I recommend the place and would come again to taste other items on the menu such as Chicken Shawarma and combo sandwiches. One more thing - the music genre is "rave" style so get ready for some "disco" dance music and make sure you wear your "dancing clothes". Not much for my taste but it was humorous .

Zeus surprised me big time! I was traveling for work and coming into town late. They were close by and had pick up available. My food was ready in under 15 mins and the team was very polite. Everything was hot and fresh! Not usually a chicken person but it hit different- good seasoning! Personal favorite was the baklava! I'd recommend Zeus for a good, quick Mediterranean bite to eat!

Soft music playing, quick service and tables available to eat in or they have take out available. There were 8-10 tables in the restaurant. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate to share and it was delicious. Wasn't huge though if you're a big eater, you should definitely get your own order.

    Spinach Pies

I ordered spinach pies - they were hard very much over cooked with no taste what's so ever - and very small for $10 - if I didn't have to come back from break I would take them back - I asked for a side of sauce and it was an extra charge of $2 - over priced and tasteless !

Awesome little Mediterranean style spot! Good sized menu with plenty of healthy options, and the service has been nothing short of friendly and helpful. I'm starting a Mediterranean diet, this place is now my go-to for lunch during the work week, as I can pick something different each time and know that it will all be wonderful.

My boy Monty can bring it. Truly some of the best food I've had in jackson all out of a gas station eatery. Love the grape leaves with taziki sauce. Both are awesome. Pita bread dipping abounds. Chicken Arabic sandwich is awesome as is the pasta. Tried a spinach pie today (ty chef) and it was equally delightful. Love the feta tucked away inside. Hummus is a dream and hospitality is on display at all times. They get a rush at lunch but come by for supper and ask for Monty. He's the man and he'll take great care of u. Tell him Dave sent u.

    9. Chicken Shawarma Salad I recently discovered Zeus as its close to our office. They have a very friendly team that quickly learns who you are and what you typically order. The service is fast and the food is good. What else could you ask for? Highly recommend!

I gave it four stars because well, I lived in New Orleans, and I've tasted better Mediterranean food (Lebanon Cafe, Mona's). That's not to say that this Mediterranean food is not good. It's SO good. Shin e. is right, they do have a grocery section which is nice, unfortunately, Jackson doesn't have a huge need for Middle Eastern groceries, so some of the items may have sat on the shelf for a lil' while. The stuff in the case is solid though. The desserts are for the most part really good. The tiramisu is AWESOME, but I'm not sure that it justifies the $5.99 pricetag. Try a chocolate pecan bar instead, they're really good (but I'm not sure that it's a middle eastern thing) The hummous is SO SO fresh, you can taste the lemon and olive oil. Do yourself a favor and get some to-go for later in the week. Okay so pricing is a little pricy, but in all fairness the portions are pretty huge. The best time to go is for lunch, where you can get lunch plates in the neighborhood of $6-9. Dinner gets a little pricy with plates ranging from $10-$20. I had the kebab which was good, but not the best I've ever had. Then I tried my brother's dish, and realized I made a mistake choosing meat. This place is called Mediterranean Cafe and Fish Grill, and griling fish is a fine art that they have perfected. True, they use frozen fish, but they do a pretty good job at making it palatable. Hell, even more than palatable. I would recommend getting the pasta with fish. The pasta is done in this mediterranean sauce that I'm not familiar with, but it's delicious, and there are also grilled vegetables with it too. DEF. worth the visit. The owner (Elias?) is a very accommodating guy. One last tip, this place is BYOB! Which is amazing! (Except on Sundays). There's a liquor store in the strip, but I'd recommend shopping elsewhere for wine selections.

The wrap was ok, gyro meat kind of bland and not nearly as flavorful as Keifers or Krilakis. Salad was fresh and pretty flavorful, lots of herbs. Ordered the red pepper hummus and received regular hummus. Hummus was ok, nothing memorable. What really disappointed me was the pita bread. I always order an extra pita bread from other places because I love it. Zeus's pita bread was almost inedible. Wasn't warm at all, really tough and chewy and I made the mistake of ordering TWO of them! It was almost as if the bread had not been warmed before serving or it was old bread. All in all not a bad place to grab something if you're in a big hurry but wouldn't go out my way by any means.

We opted to check this venue out to try to eat something at least slightly healthier. Good thing too because the convenience store next door surprisingly did not have any grab and go healthy options, it was all packaged and processed. We got ours to go so we could get back on the road, but they have table and chairs inside as well. Two things I did note, 1) they were out of falafel, obviously I am not the only one who enjoys it 2) it was obvious the gentlemen making the food had a significant head cold, he was using gloves but it was still freaking me out. The ambiance and service weren't exactly as expected. Orders must be placed before sitting down and you take your own order number to the table. Beverages are self service. We ordered four whole pan trouts with fries and a side of okra. The fish initially looked amazing. The top two pieces of fish were as expected. However, underneath were disappointing thick big honks of fish. Actually, two huge fish were cut into half and counted as four whole fish. I was immediately turned off seeing those big hunks of fish buried under the desirable and scrumptious looking whole fish. When asked if everything was okay, an honest response was given. The excuse was that due to the size of the fish, it would cost more to get all four whole. What a poor excuse! If it cost more, charge more and give what's advertised on the menu or at least an option; not a surprise. The menu should have stated: two whole fish and pieces equivalent to four. The whole fish was very good, seasoned and fried to perfection. However, we could not eat the hunks. We didn't expect to see anything but whole fish, as described on the menu. If I return, I would only order one whole fish with hopes of receiving just that. I would never waste my money on the four whole fish listed on the menu, since it is not as described and expected.
