My last meal was the lamb curry, I could have eaten as much as they brought out, definitely the best lamb curry I have eaten ever! I was pleasantly surprised to discover this place! It was actually recommended to me by an Ethiopian colleague, and I'm so glad I gave it a try. I tend to be pretty picky about Indian food, but the flavors here impressed me. The lamb biryani was especially delicious--fragrant, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Malai chicken was also quite good, creamy and well-seasoned. One tip: if you're from California like me, you might want to ask for reduced salt levels. First time visiting since they recently opened! The salmon was so tender that you won't want to share. Everything was delicious. I have no complaints. The interior design really makes the experience even better. Indian food in general is a bit pricey and our total came out to be roughly $60. Good: First, this place is a nice. Clean and pretty spotless. Room has a nice design and lighting. Bad: Service. I don't know if this place is short on staff, or what, but every visit is painful when it comes to service. Once sat, I always have to wait for a service, and then once food is served, they never come back to check on the meal or provide drink refills. Done with your meal and ready for your check? Be prepared to wait. Every time, they are too busy to close out the bill so you can pay and leave. Food: It is a mixed bag. Some is really good, like the butter chicken, as well as most appetizers. The naan is very good. However I have ordered the Tandori Chicken three times and every time it's been awful. Tough, and only oddly-shaped and disfigured chicken is served. Grissly. The flavor is fine, but the chicken is tough to eat. One weird thing: they only serve bottled water. Not tap water. This place is in Flowood, not Jackson. They drop off the plastic bottle of water and that's it. No cup/glass? Left to open by yourself. When asked about rhe water the reply is always " we serve our water in the bottles". It's weird. Overall the place is OK but between the bad service and the fact that you can't get a glass of ice water, it's really missing being an excellent place to dine. If I had to choose a word to express my feelings about Indian Delight it would actually be delightful. If you've never experienced real Indian cuisine or if you've been searching for a restaurant worth your time, then this should be your go-to place. The interior is very clean and roomy yet the ambience makes it feel very home-like and snug. The dining tables are pre-set and very tastefully dressed. The waiting staff are attentive yet distant enough to let you enjoy your dining in peace. The star of the show is of course the food and it's a star that shines brightly. My wife and I deeply enjoy Indian food and this place was a perfect find for us to enjoy a hearty late lunch. If you're on the fence about trying it out I'd urge you to do so. First off, DELICIOUS!! Try it, it's amazing!! We were seated by a gracious host, who offered waters and menus. Appetizer of vegetable samosas were very tasty and accompanying sauces were both delicious. Came out quickly. Then our entrees followed and were hot and delicious as well. Spice levels were done well. I chose mild and it was perfect, but those with me chose medium and they were happy also. Wait staff is helpful, attentive and non intrusive. The restaurant was cute, quiet, and very spacious. Our waiter was attentive and our food came out expeditiously. The garlic naan was amazing along with our entrees. My husband ordered a three meat trio that included buttered chicken which was delicious. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and it was delicious as well. The meat was so tender and seasoned to perfection. Food is fresh!!! Excellent flavor! The plain naan bread is soft and tasty. I had the mango chicken curry - perfect. My husband had another chicken curry and the tangy soup. He said both were very good. Both curries had plenty of chicken and the rice that accompanied the curries was just right in texture. Service is excellent - always smiling and anxious to please. Love the food. Service is absolutely AWFUL. If you appreciate attentive service or if you are impatient, go elsewhere. Made an online order and pre-paid. Got a text at 7:35p saying my order was ready. Enter the store, host says, "it'll just be a couple minutes". Time now is 8:10pm. You read that right, nearly FORTY minutes later, and I am still waiting AND standing in the foyer alongside other customers with delayed pickup orders. The host is also 1 of 2 waiters for the ENTIRE restaurant (20 full tables). Those tables are being neglected as well. SUGGESTIONS: - don't text a "food ready" notification until the food is ready. - offer customers water or something for a 15- minutes or longer wait. - offer waiting customers somewhere to sit other than standing at the entry way while waiting. - offer customers a free something for a longer than 30-minute wait for a PICKUP order. - hire more staff to account for busy-ness - "Sorry to keep you waiting" is not a remedy for bad service. I will give one warning for your first time don't overestimate your spice tolerance!! This is our second time eating at Indian Delight and we had another great experience tonight. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. We have tried several dishes in the two times we've visited including Samosa Chaat and Spring Rolls, Butter Chicken, Bhuna Goat, Khatta Meetha Teekha with chicken, Chickpea Salad, Goat Biryani, and the Kashmiri and Garlic naan breads. All of it was delicious and you're able to choose mild, medium, or hot spice level. The portions are large enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day and the staff is so friendly and helpful with answering any questions we have. We're so happy to have great Indian food in the area. I've heard great things about their lunch buffet in Hattiesburg, so I hope that will become an option in Flowood so that we'll have more opportunities to try different dishes. read more
