We're used to chicken shawarma--a Middle Eastern favorite, with marinated chicken broiled on a vertical brazier and packed with bold, earthy spices. But today, we were introduced to the Greek version: chicken gyro--herby, tender, juicy, and finished with just the right crispy edges. We waited a little extra for the chicken to broil, and it was totally worth it. The housemade red chile sauce added just the right splash of tangy heat to the chicken and faded before it got too hot. The housemade pita bread was soft, warm, and fresh--the perfect scoop for the housemade hummus and tangy, housemade tzatziki. The feta salad was crisp and balanced, dressed lightly with olive oil. We wrapped it all up with flaky, just-sweet-enough baklava (which was not housemade, but still delicious). The atmosphere felt like fine Mediterranean dining--just served up with the speed and ease of your favorite neighborhood spot. Cozy, relaxed, and spotlessly clean. We also saw a steady stream of to-go orders during our visit, which tells you locals already know how good this place is. Another couple dining nearby smiled from ear-to-ear when they heard our praise--they've followed "Moose", the owner, from location to location for years. That kind of loyalty says a lot.
