Good place to hang out with old friends and drink to your hearts' content. true epitome of what a british pub would be like. The only downfall was that the workers came around rushing us to finish our drinks and get out because they're closing up. Must be a culture thing, we've definitely stayed longer than we were supposed to have in American places and they just waited, yes, i know, we were wrong for staying, we just lost track of time, and always made sure to tip well! But here they aren't afraid to say hey, we're closing, get out! ok ok a lot nicer but basically same message. :) But other than that, I would come back for sure, service was great otherwise.

Interesting and confusing at the same time, please keep trying, lots of potential here. Service attentive to the point of predatory (3 attempts were made to take my plate before I had finished). Food was a combination of safe choices (burger with chips) and uh creative (the duck leg was nice, sauce was heavy, cherries soaked in some kind of booze were OTT) . The menu touts pre-celebrity chef Warrick Dodds. Who? Verdict: OK to good food, complicated layout (stairs galore). Staff, busy, young, maybe a little distracted at times. We'll go back and hope for more good deals on interesting food, less anxiety about leaving plates in front of us and clean coffee spoons.

Excellent location in the centre of Lytham right next to the bus stops, this boozer serves a…read moredecent, wide range of real ales for the beer hunter (like me!), but beware that the pub gets taken over by loud (I mean loud!) music during weekend evenings, so unless you decide to sit in a corner to avoid having your ears bashed, or invest in some earplugs, or give up talking to your mates, might be worth giving this a miss, or getting there before the DJ arrives. Shame really because the pub itself is spacy, characterful (ship motif) and does a decent range of food too.
