Place looks great, nice beer selection and a good price on the lunch menu. Several interesting menus with wine and beer were left in a stack on the table. Interesting and confusing at the same time, please keep trying, lots of potential here.
Service attentive to the point of predatory (3 attempts were made to take my plate before I had finished). Food was a combination of safe choices (burger with chips) and uh creative (the duck leg was nice, sauce was heavy, cherries soaked in some kind of booze were OTT) . The menu touts pre-celebrity chef Warrick Dodds. Who?
Verdict: OK to good food, complicated layout (stairs galore). Staff, busy, young, maybe a little distracted at times. We'll go back and hope for more good deals on interesting food, less anxiety about leaving plates in front of us and clean coffee spoons. read more
