    Good beer selection
    Stefan P.

The Taps was my go-to pub when I lived in Lytham years ago. I'm glad to discover it is still going strong on Henry Street, which now consists of even more eateries. It's been extended over the years and is now less a straightforward pub with good beer. There are attractive bits and pieces on the walls with a Lytham theme and each menu is strangely attached to a small pillow. They seem to do food though I didn't try it. The beer selection is pretty good with about six or seven ales. My one complaint was that there was music playing at an intrusive level-grrrr! I have a thing about music in pubs-cocktail bars no problem but not in pubs please. Probably my age.

Thursday night is steak night, two for 15quid but we went for the burger and lasagne. The gourment burger came with a surprise fried egg and was great value for money. The lasagne was average pub standard, but the pimms and cocktails were amazing. The 5 star rating is for the profiteroles and staff, the profiteroles are to die for, and the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere was great and the style a good mix of old and modern pub that worked really well. I would deffo come again if I was in the area.

From the outside tables, pet bowls & hanging baskets at the front, to the village church next door, all overlooking green expanses with cricketers playing and sounds coming from the duck pond. The real ale was on good from, they had Bodds, Theaks & Bombadier on draught. The menu (eat in or sit outside) is extensive, with 2 courses for £9 or 3 for £11. One small gripe is the fact that it is not an easy place to get to without a car (bus transportation is limited and does not run late at night). Parking is limited around the pub, or you can try grabbing a space around the greens. An excellent place to meet friends or enjoy a good meal. But make sure someone stays sober to drive home otherwise you could end up with a big taxi bill.
