A popular Chef & Brewer pub in the lovely village of Wrea Green, this place is as picturesque & English-ified as you can get. From the outside tables, pet bowls & hanging baskets at the front, to the village church next door, all overlooking green expanses with cricketers playing and sounds coming from the duck pond.
The real ale was on good from, they had Bodds, Theaks & Bombadier on draught. The menu (eat in or sit outside) is extensive, with 2 courses for £9 or 3 for £11.
One small gripe is the fact that it is not an easy place to get to without a car (bus transportation is limited and does not run late at night). Parking is limited around the pub, or you can try grabbing a space around the greens.
An excellent place to meet friends or enjoy a good meal. But make sure someone stays sober to drive home otherwise you could end up with a big taxi bill. read more
