I have to agree that the pub is very traditional and had a lovely cosy atmosphere, but after the meal my girlfriend and I had on Sat, I can safely say we would not be going there again to dine. I had the boneless leg of minted lamb and my girlfriend had the Surf and Turf. Although my lamb was adequate, the vegetables that accompanied my dish were appalling! The carrots and green beans were bland and tasteless and the mash can only be described as what a plaster would use (I'm sure they came from a packet). Worse than this was my poor girlfriends meal, in which not one positive could be taken. She may as well have eaten the dinner with a full on cold as you could not taste a single element on her dish. If you were to be blindfolded and fed different elements from the dish, you would not be able tell a chip from a scampi! Not one item of her Surf and Turf had any taste to it whatsoever, even the pepper sauce was like water, shocking. Yes it is safe to say we will not be dining there in future. Which is a shame as it does look like a lovely pub from the outside. False advertising anyone? read more
