I have been searching for the best Italian Combo sandwich in Tidewater, Virginia, for the past several years since we lost Harvey in Churchland. I finally found it in a small Sub Shop on Sandbridge Road in Virginia Beach. So small that it wasn't even listed on the Zero's website. But the "OPEN" sign was on at lunchtime, so I gave it a try. So glad that I did! Gustavo has done a masterful job of making the quality of the food the top priority. I got my hot Italian Premium Gladiator just the way I like it with hot and sweet peppers, and a generous portion of meats and cheeses. You can add fries, chips, and a choice of sodas. They even have Cheerwine, famous since 1917. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is immaculately clean. I highly recommend little Zero's at Sandbridge. I shall return! read more

Magnitudes better than subway. I got the full chicken bacon bbq sub. They made the sub quick and it was larger than anything subway or jersey mikes has. Excellent customer service. Nice ambience of the place made me feel welcome. 12/10 best sub I've had. read more

Zero's is a great place to stop in and have a sub. We came here on our way to start our beach vacation in Sandbridge. We all tried different subs, and my companion tried all the subs. My wife got the Philly cheese steak, my son got the turkey, and I got a chicken bacon ranch. There are not a ton of choices, but they were all yummy. It was small, but there was enough seating. I think this location is seasonal. I was in the area around Thanksgiving and it was closed, but it was open the week before Memorial Day. Based on their Facebook page, they're open April-October? Anyway, the sandwiches were fantastic, and service was fast and friendly. They're open late, which is great because there's not much food to choose from in the Sandbridge area without driving 15 minutes away. Our group stopped by multiple times during the week and came away satisfied every time. They're co-located with a Ben & Jerry's, so you can get dessert at the same time! read more

Had lunch here, and it was pretty good. The kids really enjoyed it. Cool little sub shop with daily specials. Sandwiches were really good and decently priced considering chain competitor prices. About the same. I'd choose this little place over a major chain company anyway. The young men working there were helpful and polite. Phone was never answered. Couldn't tell if the store was actually open when standing outside of it, and it may as well not have been. They didn't have any turkey, bacon, roast beef, or meatballs. My wife and I pulled in to this place well before 5 pm. Door locked and a person was inside cleaning. No hours or information posted. There were 2 signs saying OPEN with an arrow pointing to the side of the building. As we were leaving the person appeared and announced he was the manager and that they close 'around' 5 pm and seemed agitated. I asked if it was just all online business and he said no and that the signs say OPEN but that they are NOT OPEN (?). Of course that made no sense. I mentioned that there were no hours posted which he then said that I did not have to give him attitude and that I did not have to like it. A real businessman. My wife and I are 65 & 70 years old and by this point have learned that some things are simply best left alone so we laughed at this guy and left completely at a loss as to his behavior. Rip off. Just moved to Sandbridge and was excited to try it out. Cheesesteak meat didn't even fill up the bread, no visible cheese, pizza sauce tastes like Ragu and was overall bland. $2 for that pizza would have been overpriced. read more

All of the staff are under 18. I'm allergic to peanuts so I asked what type of oil they use. They just responded with "I don't know" and didn't even try to find out. Steak and cheese subs were awesome and a friendly staff. The pizza was ok but the kids loved it. Highly recommend, fair prices also.

The staff is very friendly and great to chat with while they wait patiently for the rest of the group to figure out what they want. I would give a zero for Zero's sub shop in Sandbridge, VA. The place looks pretty dirty and the paint chipping all across the ceiling would be a huge sanitation violation in most areas. The bathroom was filthy with a clogged toilet. The staff consists of all teenagers with no customer service skills. It took 25 minutes to get two subs and there was one person ahead of us. They served the person who ordered after us her subs before we got ours and they completely forgot about the lady in front of us. She had to reorder. They didn't seem short staffed as there were 5 kids working behind the counter. The only good comments I have are that the subs tasted ok and I did observe the workers wearing gloves and washing hands! read more

Zeros has a fantastic reputation in Virginia Beach for delicious subs- the Sandbridge location unfortunately is not carrying out the reputation- lived here my entire life never had such a gross experience-3 young guys working -no problem - tried to order prior don't answer- tried to call after to get my order corrected no answer - ordered a chicken Philly with mushrooms -not sure what I received looked like 3 slices of cold turkey lunch meat with cold mushrooms - every single inch of this place is filthy - every table, chair , counter and floor - glass doors looked like they haven't been wiped the entire summer -to top it off the bathroom was beyond unsanitary covered in fresh raw feces- I mentioned to the front staff they told me it was the night crews duty - these young guys are working hard the owner and or management needs to oversee this and perhaps get a professional cleaning crew in there ! Placed an order online through Postmates, received order confirmation, and just prior to arriving to pick up 15 minutes later, received text confirmation that order was ready. I waited in line for 10 minutes to pick up the order, and was told when I got to the counter that my order wasn't ready. I explained I ordered online and received confirmation it was ready. The girl checked the computer and told me that it wasn't ready because they were busy. She said they had to make it and it would take 10-15 minutes. I told her the point of ordering online was so it would be ready when I arrived to pick it up. She again said it wasn't ready because they were busy. No apology, nothing, just that they were busy. Apparently, if you order online, and there's customers in line at the store, your order is pushed to the back of the line until you arrive, and then it's your turn in line. So, it's because they're busy and your order online isn't as important as the customers that are in-person. Totally unacceptable customer service!! And, the food was definitely not worth the wait!! There philly was ok but was was heavly peppered, onoion rings was very small and the fries with cheese and bacon was very disappointed. I also ordered a veggie sub and they made the wrong one which was just horrike. Ordered mild wings and there were extremely hot and had slot of fat on them and never came with dipping sauce.
