Something to do in Pullman? Uhh yea, BOWL! $1 bowling nights are great! The price is awesome and though it can be packed it is understandable. I hate an empty bowling alley which brings out a sketchy aroma but this place is full of people! There is a casino next door if you are in that gambling mood. They do serve alcohol and a menu of food which I always get the chili fries because they are delicious! They come in a huge bowl and I promise you your friends are going to want a taste if you order it. I really enjoy this hangout spot and for a fun environment, this works! read more

Terribly run business that only cares about their bottom line. Growing up here I used to go to the arcade every day, often with friends to play games, mostly DDR and have a good time. Occasionally we bowled, and after we all turned 21 we'd even come here to drink every now and again. However, they never fix the broken game machines in their arcade. If you should be so unfortunate as to drop money into an already broken machine, they also don't give refunds. They will lie, straight to your face about repairs that have 'been made' only to say 'oh I guess not' after the machine has sucked up your money... still broken. They also don't care about long term customers. Don't waste your time at this place that doesn't care about it's customers. Go somewhere that does. Yay bowling!! Bored? Wanna eat, drink, and throw heavy balls to knock pins down? This is the place for you! It's normally quite busy at nights so it's a good idea to come a bit earlier than you actually want to, especially on the nights that have good deals! Definitely make sure to come on $1 bowling nights!! Their food isn't always that great, though. My friends and I ordered an appetizer platter where we could choose 3 different appetizers that we wanted for $12. That was definitely not a deal for what we got. When we read "platter" we were expecting something that could feed 4 people and allow them to be a bit satisfied, but noooo. The serving amount was quite small. However, they've got their fries DOWN!! I always order fries when I come here. Always. Once in a blue moon, they would over-salt the fries but it's okay, but they give us this fry sauce that definitely came from heaven. Also ask for the ranch! There's something about it that's quite delicious :) The bowling shoes that they give us are just like every other bowling alley that I've ever been to, so nothing to really say about them. Their lanes, though! Their not waxed all the time so if you expect to bowl the same way every time and get a good score, don't! Every now & then you have to readjust your bowling strategy because of the lanes. It gets really busy here and the lanes are pretty sketchy and grumpy but it's always a fun time :) read more

Absolutely horrible food. Would not recommend this food to my dog. The food is borderline poison and should be cited for crimes against humanity. I ordered the "bite sized steak" along with baked potatoes, and a mixture of steamed carrots, and broccoli. Now I could dedicate and entire paper to how horrendous this "food" tasted. However, for the sake of time I shall break my review into 3 parts, 1 part for dedicated to each part of the meal. First and foremost, the steak. Where should I even begin? Where can I begin? This is one of those moments where the subject is so fraught with flaws and absurdities that one doesn't even know where to begin. I guess I will start with the most basic of what went wrong with my order. The doneness. I ordered rare. I did not get that. I instead got medium well, almost borderline well done. Secondly, the meat was so tough that even if you had the bite force rivaling that of a saltwater crocodile, you still might not have been able to chew and swallow properly. I have never eaten a piece of meat so tough, that I refused to consume it. The steak was literally inedible. Impressive really. Up until this point in my life I had heard stories. Seen it on TV. But never did I think I would have the displeasure of consuming food so horrendous that if you were to give it to a starving man he'd rather die. Following my bite I had to admit, at the very least the chef is very consistent. The food tasted as bad as it looked. Absolutely no taste whatsoever. However, I can hardly blame the lack of seasoning. Perhaps the latest shipment of spices from india had yet to arrive. The trade routes are dangerous after all. However, at the very least, a modicum of salt and pepper would've been a welcome addition. To sum it up, too well done, no seasoning, and an overall lack of anything resembling flavor. Secondly, the vegetables. They were so soft you could eat them through a straw. How can you possibly butcher the simple steaming of vegetables so badly? Quite honestly it's beyond me. I have nothing more to say here besides suggesting a new chef. If you can't steam vegetables you don't deserve such a title. Thirdly and finally, the potatoes. These were undoubtedly the best part of the meal. Merely due to the fact that everything else was so horrendous that these were a shining beacon of hope in the darkness. The potatoes were bland. That's it. The best part of the meal was bland. Of course the same problems plague the potatoes as the steak. No flavor. Lack of salt and pepper. To top if off a beautiful burn mark on the bottom. Yes, it was a delight to bite into as one can imagine. Much less taste! Some final parting words. I would not recommend the food here to my worst enemy or darkest nightmare. The food here is less food than 18th century gruel. Do not ever touch the food here, starving men would rather die than eat the monstrosities that come out of the kitchen. read more

Zeppos - 3 stars Zeppos is an awesome place to go for bowling in the entire Palouse if not the only place. It's fun even if you're terrible at bowling like I am. I used to go here a lot when I was a kid to spend quality time with my family. Zeppos is very large with a lot of lanes, and an arcade. Kids enjoy this place making it a family-friendly experience. We recently held a birthday party here for an 8 year old. All the kids had a lot of fun, both bowling and in the arcade. I highly recommend it as a venue for a kids party. What I don't recommend, however, is the food, specifically the pizza. I ordered the "boneless wings" for myself almost immediately upon arrival because I was already low on blood sugar and didn't want to wait to eat pizza later with the children. What I received can only be described as mushy, flavorless, chicken nuggets. The consistency, texture, and lack of flavor would make it impossible to know what they actually were if I hadn't ordered them off the menu. However, when the pizza showed up, I was glad I had eaten the mush-meat balls instead. We ordered a cheese pizza and a chicken pizza. The cheese pizza looked like a piece of cardboard with a thick "slab" of cheese so processed it's probably not technically cheese anymore. The chicken pizza was exactly the same but with little chunks of what I imagine the inside of my mush balls looked like, strewn carelessly across it. The absurd lack of presentation of the pizza could not prepare one for the amount of disgusting that this pizza was, and this was the worst looking pizza I have ever seen in my whole 39 years (I'm not being facetious, this was literally the worst looking pizza I've ever seen). I could go on and on but all I need to tell you about the quality of the pizza is this: A second grade boy who hadn't eaten dinner yet and who's favorite food is cheese pizza could not even bring himself to take a bite of it after smelling it, he described that he brought it up to his mouth to take a bite but could not do so after smelling it. Another second grader brought it back after her first bite because it was so terrible. I know that I've had decent food at Zeppoz before and I don't know what has happened since then but it is not good. 4 stars for the place as a venue for kids to have fun, 0 stars for the food. read more

The food here is awesome! The hidden gem of Pullman along with the cheapest bar!!! The service is always friendly and they are always trying to bring new fun and excitement as well as some of the best burgers and fried food in town. I've worked in a lot of kitchens from fast food to fine dining, and this is some of the cleanest fryer oil around keeping your tater tots, stuffed tots, sweet tater fries, and all the other filthy fried goodies so crispy, hot, and delicious. Great portion sizes and an underrated breakfast make this a must eat place. Only knock would be the average pizzas which really aren't worth the money. read more

Zeppoz is super great to bowl! And their food is DELICIOUS! However tonight myself and friends went to bowl which unfortunately did not bring as much joy as usual. A man stood behind our lanes the entire hour and watched to make sure no one was underage drinking but we were all 21 years old. I took a sip of my friends beer and immediately the man came up to me and said "come with me" without even asking me for my ID as well as wearing NO IDENTIFICATION that he even worked there? I told him it was very uncomfortable that he was watching us which he followed up with "I was told to watch you all night". I found this wrong and inappropriate and it's unfortunate they don't trust people to drink and feel the need to literally watch our every move. Doesn't make us feel welcomed back AT ALL. My wife, daughter, and I took my 98 year old grandma out for dinner at zeppoz tonight (Friday). The young lady who served us was great. We were greeted promptly and with a smile. The food came out quick and was very good. All four of us had a nice time and we will definitely be back soon. I like reading yelp reviews but I have never written one before tonight. However after reading the three recent 1star reviews I felt is was important to let peeps know that my family had a 5star experience. I am a business owner myself and I am always frustrated by certain folks that only want to complain and rarely offer up when they have a positive experience. Had not been bowling in a long time but didn't remember it being this expensive! Came to about 80 dollars for just 2 games with four people. Not only was this expensive but the customer service was awful. Employees do not care about customers and are quick to anger. When confused about the pricing of the game employees were very short with us and of no help. Specifically a red headed guy I believe named Tyler was especially rude and seemed like he didn't care to be there. Will not be back in the future. My group and I came here during a busy Saturday night and they gave us a lane that broke multiple times (10+). Every time it broke we would complain and they had to take 10 minutes to fix it every time. Took nearly 2 hours to bowl one single game. At the end of the game we complained one last time that we weren't able to bowl and they changed our lane screen to a blank screen with the word "broken" and then never gave us a refund... annoying and wasted my money tonight would have had more fun playing Wii bowling read more

Bowling's bowling (which is still awesome), but what I was impressed by was the food! Kudos to Paula who had to take my large, obnoxious group's order. Fun bowling but the staff is pretty much never polite and seems annoyed to help with anything.

We are visiting alumni visiting for the weekend and we were looking for a late meal after arriving late. I called, spoke with the bar staff and was told we could order food until 10pm and after 10pm, less options would be available. All well and good. We arrived at 9:50pm and walked in..one table sitting with beers and 4 kids at the bar. We sat at a table...and sat....and sat...3 servers walking around and NOBODY SAID ANYTHING OR EVEN LOOKED AT US! Was it because we are not young, cute college kids that you can flirt with (I'm looking at you bartender!). Are we not old, wrinkly and clearly wealthy adults that will tip highly and pay for your next manicure (Waitress that avoided eye contact)? We waited for 10 minutes and then left to go to Emerald Chinese Food. Yes, Zeppoz...we went and got greasy Chinese food over your food (which was delicious when we were undergrads). I hardly ever leave reviews but DAMN, what terrible service. Oh, and the table was sticky and a dead fly was on the chair next to me. read more

My family really liked this place. We went for Cosmic bowl. It was a bit spendy, about $75 for 2 hrs plus shoes. They were busy since it was mom's weekend at WSU (Go Cougs!) so we went to eat at their restaurant while we waited for a lane to open. It was very convenient because they took my number and texted me when it was ready. We all really liked our food. The waitress was very nice. I also thought the guy running the counter in the front was great. We really enjoyed the 80's music videos on the big screens in front. Nice decor and just a really fun place! read more
