I appreciate their helpful approach when asking about new releases, recent books on their shelves. They definitely have a solid selection of graphic novels and comic-related collectibles to browse through. Oh, their back-issue wall has so many great books on display! This is easily one of my favorite comic shops in the Bay Area. Whenever I'm visiting family in the 707 I make it a point to stop by. Highly recommended for comic fans of all kinds.

Most of these photos are from my first visit about a month ago, but I've already been back at least 3 or 4 times since then. Oops! I've been missing all of their Pokémon drops because of work, but I finally caught their impromptu Black Bolt and White Flare poster collection drop yesterday! At $25, it was practically MSRP. Really appreciate Anime Island not scalping customers like some other game stores have been doing. Even managed to pull a cute Sewaddle full art from my packs! My one critique would be communication around prerelease events. I was hoping to enter the Delta Reign prerelease but couldn't find any info on registration or pricing. When I called, I was told the details were on Instagram, but I follow them and hadn't seen anything. If the info is being shared through Stories, I'd love to see a regular post instead so people know when to come sign up. By the time I called, only one spot was left, and since I wanted to enter with my boyfriend, we ended up passing. Even the staff member I spoke with wasn't sure about the pricing. Otherwise, I really love Anime Island and the staff are always super friendly. Looking forward to more surprise weekend Pokémon drops I can actually make it to!

*This is for the Vacaville location*…read more I was so excited to hear a new anime store was opening in Vacaville! I was absolutely floored by the quality and quantity of merchandise in the store. The atmosphere was open and inviting, and left plenty of room for people to browse. There was a variety of merchandise (key chains, figures, stickers, mystery boxes, and more) from a number of well known and lesser known anime. I purchased a lot of items and felt they were very reasonably priced. The staff were extremely happy and pleasant to be around. This isn't your cheap, rip-off merchandise you see at hobbie and toy stores in the mall. This is quality merchandise, name-brand and brand new.

Shelves packed with graphic novels, new issues rolling in on a weekly basis and short boxes filled with back-issues that you can get lost for hours. During our 4 years in Suisun, I spent a LOT of time digging, discovering, and just soaking in the magic of collecting. What made it even better was the friendship I built with John, the owner. He's created a space that truly welcomes readers especially in a world where "going digital" is an easy option. Waterfront Comics reminds you what real collecting feels like. Thank you, John, for your kindness, your passion, and for bringing the community together. Shops like yours keep collectors inspired.

They've moved around a bit, but Kelly, the owner and his son, Aaron are familiar faces when you walk in. They host regular magic the gathering tournaments, pre-releases, draft nights, and commander events. It's a small LGS, but just this last Sunday, I participated in the 4th Prerelease event that weekend, in which a good 16+ people showed up to play in. It's across the street from a mini mart and Krispy Krunchy Chicken shop, so lots of food options to just come in and chill and enjoy an afternoon or weekend playing cards or checking out the latest comic runs.

They seem to be a lot heavier on the "Cards" and "Etc" Parts. They only have about 2 Magazine Racks of comics... Its a shame though since this is the only comic shop within a 8 mile radius. Met Kevin, the Owner, who's been in business since the heyday of collecting in the 80's. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and didn't mind taking time to answer questions, which I had plenty of since the collecting industry had changed so much since I stopped. Over the next 3 years I bought numerous hobby products from Kevin. When COVID hit in 2020, the industry went crazy and caused prices to skyrocket. Kevin remained true and offered prices well below what he could of asked for at the time. I asked him about it and he told me he'd seen numerous highs and lows in the industry, and he wanted to take care of his loyal customers who would always come back. I have a great deal of respect for Kevin, and while I have stopped collecting new cards (I just purchase vintage), I still stop by from time-to-time to say hello. He no longer sells sports cards because the distributors got too greedy, and he didn't want to pass those excessive costs to his customers. He still sells comics though, and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with anyone who stops by.
