We found damage shortly after we moved into our home. NRG came out twice to look but never followed up with repair. We ended up hiring another company to fix the roof leak and repair the dry rot. Now Two months later we hired a company to clean our gutters and remove moss from the roof and this contractor discovered another leak in a seperate area as well as the dry rot you see in the photos below. According to the certificate in the first photo attached NRG warranted this roof for two years from any leaks. They come and look at the damage but do not follow up with any remedy in this situation. Buyer beware if you use them to inspect your roof when purchasing a home. Our realtor ordered the inspection on our behalf and we paid the invoice.

I got the run around from Rob at Oja for 5 months saying he would send the copy to me, at one point stating he already sent it. I contacted Rob again and he stated it must have slipped through the cracks... shit happens ok but i expect things to get done in a timely manner. After months of back and forth the Roof was inspected, permits done and roof was redone where they had to tear up sections of my new roof. It was finished by May 2025. There are lumps and curled areas of my roof where it was torn up for inspection. It looks like patch work was done and does not look anything like a new roof should. I am very unhappy with the final product and the lack of communication and lack of follow through of Rob and Oja roofing. I got estimates from four roofing contractors for this project. Two of them used areal photos to give their estimates (i.e. they never came to the house). One contractor was going to send an employee to do the estimate but then never showed up. Jim not only came himself to do the estimate (at the time and date he said he would), he was there on the job site and involved for the entire project from tearing off the first shingle to hammering in the last roofing nail.

They were not as formal (hand written) as the other 3 bids (computerized) but their pricing was competitive. I (we) chose H & G because I was always partial to "mom & pop" businesses who listen first and advises accordingly. Our first choice was a basic roof clean up to extend the roof life. Though H & G advertises that they do that kind of work, it is not necessarily their preference ideally. We found this out only AFTER we agreed to their service. Without ANY pressure, they gave us a bid on that clean up without any hesitation and without ANY pressure for us to replace the whole roof. We were very impressed with this and their patience even though the job was not a "money making job". With the information they gave us along with their consultation, we decided to do the WHOLE roof replacement. This may have been surprising to H & G. They (including Jaime the silent One) completed the job quickly, efficiently, always communicating when necessary (unforeseen problems with the suggested fix and cost analyses before any work is performed). We also decided to replace our old gutters with new, an item we did not have to do but did so because of our confidence in their services. H & G also removed our gutter guards (relatively new) and re-applied them to the new project. Any guards that needed to be replaced was done quietly without any adjustments to the original bid. Final billing and remittance was smooth. Above all our roof looked great with assurances that any items that we felt needed attention, would be immediately address. We had a small water leak due to our existing old garden window that was covered by the roof. When we discovered it notifying H & G, they came the next day to patch and fix with NO complaints. One of neighbors who was tracking our progress was confident enough to hire H & G to do his roof. The ultimate of compliment to a contractor who's done a fine job. Final Inspection was routine and approved with compliments. Though great work is not always appreciated, I hope this review of H & G Roofing will do them justice as I would NOT hesitate not only to hire Marc and Jaime again but to refer them to all who are curious.
